Great Camera Set
I own the Sony Alpha a700 + 18-250mm lens Got this camera as replacment with the lens kit. New Alpha a77ii works great with my 18-250mm lens. Fast autofocus with so long zoom range is very useful. I get very good sport action pictures from my daughter riding horses. It was more difficult with my older camera. 16-50mm f/2.8 lens is great lens for indoor uses and general uses. I get much better result indoor with this lens in low light conditions. ... Show More

The Perfect Fit
I started with Minolta and graduated into Sony when they went digital. Every model I have upgraded to has been an easy transition and the A77II is the best I've used yet.

This camera is fast and versatile.
The pivoting viewfinder is the best, the auto focus seems faster than most cameras, and the two thumb wheels make for faster adjustments.

Sony a77II shoots as good as it feels
This Sony a77II has a good heft to it, especially helpful when mounting a big telephoto lens. Enhanced capabilities over earlier Sony DSLTs (which remain good cameras, in my opinion) makes this a Great camera. I use it for tracking fast moving aircraft with a Sigma 150-500mm lens. The only issue I find (and I am still new at this body) is the digital viewfinder image sometimes freezes when I am trying to rezoom and shoot. The 1080 60P video is great, as is the DSLT way of shooting video.

Love the fastest focus
The focus is fast and the high IOS is improved comparing to the A77MK 1. The LCD is bright and work great in dim light. This camera is a big jump from the MK 1 .It is worth every buck for this camera.

Light, durable, great vertical shooting
First thing to know when you buy this set up is that the battery and battery charger do not come with this product. B&H tells you what is included in the box. Read carefully. It did not concern me because I had two other Sony cameras that took the same battery. The Sony battery grip is good because it is contoured to allow you a grip for vertical shooting, the design is built in with a separate button for vertical shooting. I use the 80-400 Sony ... Great Camera a77II Sony
I started shooting Minolta cameras back in 1985. I have a collection of various Minolta and Sony cameras and lens and lucky for me Sony continued with the alpha mount. I purchased everything from B&H over the years and this is my 8th camera body. The big reason I have been loyal to this line is due to the replacement costs of my main prime lens Minolta 300 2.8 APO G.The A77II fits my set-up perfectly.I will be looking at the next Sony body that will be replacing the a77II in 2015 or 2016 can't wait.

Error message a concern
While this has been a good camera producing great images thus far, I'm concerned that I've already got an error message on a 5 month old camera. I've had to send the camera for repairs and that concerns me alot! It's a weird error message that's a yellow flashing hand - appears when camera cleaning in done I suspect it's the mirror; but it is still to be resolved as I haven't heard from Sony in over 3 weeks. Thought it was important for users and those thinking about purchasing to note this error. Also, I posted this on Sony's review sight and they did not put up my review - go figure!

Massive Improvement over previous model
I take mainly family photos and landscape (especially seascape) photography. This new camera is the latest in a long line of Sony's I have owned - initially a Minolta 700, then a Sony A700, then an A900 full frame, then the original A77 and now this one (also bought an RX-100 Mk2 which is amazing for it's size and resolution, not to mention light and easy to tote around). This new version of the A77 builds on an already super-impressive camera. I... Show More

a580 Upgrade
Seized opportunity to upgrade during camera body w/ grip offer in December. The upgrades over a580 are material. The EVF viewfinder is the most obvious improvement over the previous camera's dim little OVF. The camera's focusing speed, tracking and accuracy are just excellent. The build and form factor are also just right for me, with a large, comfortable textured grip....buttons in just the right places etc. Perhaps the only negative is the imag... Show More

Exceptioanny nice camera great value
I was using a Sony a55 and upgraded to the a77II. The camera lives up to its reviews. Photos are sharper and have deeper color requiring less touch up with Photoshop. I'm still learning to use some of the features, but from what I have thus far read I'm going to really enjoy making use of some of the new features. In particular I will be making use of the 12fps. The 55 did 10fps. The memory backup allows up to 60 frames to be recorded which is re... Show More

Best camera for price
I had a Sony A580 and decided to upgrade to the A77II, so glad that I did. The A77II is so much faster, quiter, and has so many buttons that you can customize depending on your shooting style and purpose. The camera does what other Sony cameras do, with the built in HDR and also the easy panoramas, which just make it easier to shoot better pictures.

LOVE IT!
For me, this is an upgrade from an A55. This is a fun piece of equipment. I'm no pro by any means. I use this camera mainly when I travel. I bought this camera with the 16-50mm lens and I absolutely love it. I usually, just shoot landscapes and architecture. This is great for portraits and street photography as well. It is a lot heavier than the A55, but that was expected. I'm still learning how to use the A77II as you read this. Right now, the possibilities of individual style feel pretty endless. Thank you, B&H and Sony! :)

Delighted - even more than expected!
When I first discovered my passion for photography, I bought a Minolta X-700 system from B&H 35 years ago. As photograph has progresses, I eventually bought a Canon bridge camera to learn the basics of digital. Since Sony bought Minolta and entered the DSLR market, I have watched their progress and when I was ready to finally get back to the SLR type cameras, I picked the Sony 77-II because it it appeared to offer all the features I wanted. Nice upgrade from the a55
I haven't had the camera long(2 weeks, I haven't tried the video. I upgraded from the a55)but it is fun and easy to use. It takes great pictures, the autofocus is fast and accurate and it is quite good in low light. It is also great for sports photography, love the 12 frames per/sec and lock on autofocus. Great price for a great camera
I had been using an A700 since it first came out years ago. I decided it was finally time to replace it but was a little intimidated with all the new cameras that are out on the market. I knew I wanted to stick with Sony because of the lenses and accessories I already owned. I bought an A58 and tried that for a few weeks. It wasn't bad but I wanted something a little better with more features and was weather sealed. I came accross the special B&H... Show More

Newest Addition to The Stable
This is my newest Alpha Body. I have experience with Sony as I have owned the A55...still own the A65 and now the A77II. This is a Christmas present (I bought and handed to my wife to wrap...yes I acted surprised), so not a lot of time on this. Out of the box...battery on charger...Once that was done I connected the parts and added one of my Raw Steel SD cards. The card was corrupting playback stills and would not load on my computer. An even better camera than the original
I have not had the Alpha a77ll camera very long. I have had an original Alpha 77 that I have used for about 2 years. The controls and body are almost the same. The new camera has a button added to the dial at the center of it to push to turn to set the manual or any of the auto exposure modes. Excellent camera for the money.
I put off upgrading from my Sony a580 to this because of the translucent mirror and because of the electronic viewfinder (evf). After using the camera for a few days, I have not noticed any extra eye strain or fatigue due to the evf. It is bright, crisp and clear. All menu items, image review, zoom focusing, focus peaking, camera level, setting and function changes, etc can be accomplished through the evf if necessary. The buttons vary in feel. T... Show More
