This camera pays for its self, many times over!!!!!
As a professional photographer, I look at a camera as an investment! I want a return on that investment! This camera has done this so well that I own two of them and use them daily! I shoot real estate photography and vacation rentals in the Florida Panhandle. I have been fortunate enough to have been able to shoot over 100 magazine covers. This camera gives me a depth of field that allows my clients to feel like they can reach into the picture!... Show More

Sony A77 II
I have had two models of the Canon the first was an EOS rebel , then I Made the mistake of buying the Canon T-6i which I knew I would never get the performance that I wanted to get from a camera. Then I went all out getting the A77 II. I saw the difference between the A77 and then what I wanted to buy the A77 II . Now I see that Sony is changing the Camera line using a Mirrorless camera and the shape of the camera all together. When I am holding ... Show More

It makes it all easy
My Sony A77 ii teamed with the DT 16-80mm lens provide a powerful pair that cover around 80% of my shots. They provide features that make getting good quality images easy. I love them!

Familiar, but much better.
Bought refurb. Had 900 images and 4 hours of video taken previously when received. Works perfectly. Also bought used lens at the recommendation of b and h expert. Have the original Sony alpha dslr, bought this model because all my old lenses and accessories work with it, and have heard this is last model that this is true for. Sony phone tech support is u.s. based and wonderful, one reason I stuck with brand. I called because couldnt figure out h... Show More

Good all-around shooter; low light is challenging.
Overall, I think its a great camera. Focuses quickly, and works well in high light. Like everybody else has noted, though, low light is a challenge.

Awesome Camera
I have had a Sony A77 II camera for few years now and have taken several thousand photos with it and I have always been extremely impressed with the way it performs. I am retired now and I decided to purchase a second Sony A77 II so I wouldn't have to change lens as often. I looked at several other Cameras but I just couldn't find anything that compared to the Sony 77 II maybe it's because I have had so good luck with the Sony, I do have a Cannon... Show More

A big step up!
Stepping up to the Sony Alpha a77 II DSLR was the right move. I debated whether to take the plunge. I asked on forums, read reviews, so after finding nothing negative, I took the plunge. I am very happy I did. Not only does all of the lens and accessories I had for my a77 fit I have some really amazing technology. I realize the Sony Alpha a77 II DSLR is 4 years old but it is head and shoulders above the a77 which has served me well. B&H has a 30-day return policy so I could use the a77 II to make sure it fits my needs. After 500 plus photographs, I am keeping the Sony Alpha a77 II DSLR.

I've been using mine for several years,
And now I'm ready to review it. I bought mine as an upgrade to my a300. From the outset I was impressed by how easily I learned to operate the camera. For the most part I took pictures under unchallenging conditions and never pushed the camera to its limits. After all, taking pictures in bright sunlight at ISO 50 is not much of a challenge: F/16 @ 1/60 sec. with a 50 mm lens. Then, I went to the local car museum with its black-painted walls ... Show More

Significant Improvement over the A700
The A77II is a significant improvement in focus and response while photograhing wildlife over the A700. The auto focus speed alone is superior and big reason why I up-graded.

I have had my A77ii for about 3 yrs. now. This camera is a beast. From the time I purchased it, I could see by the amazing specs that this camera was LOADED with technology. So I knew that if I didn't get results that I wanted, it might not be the camera. I always feel to this day I have a tool in my hands that I am STILL learning how to get something more out of and I do achieve great results consistently. First of all for less than $1200.00 you... I LOVE this camera
I have been researching the purchase of this camera for months now. I have a Sony a350 that has served me well, but I was looking to upgrade. WOW! What a difference. Although I DO love my new gear, I have found myself still using my a350 because I know it so well. There is a lot to learn with the a77II and look forward to using it to its full potential. Purchasing from B&H made the transaction very easy. I purchased online and received it with free expedited shipping as promised. I was very pleased with my overall experience.

Love
I updated my camera from 350a to this and I am totally in love. The quality is so much better. There is a big improvement with shooting indoors versus my old equipment. It's taking time to get used to it but so far I love it and would purchase it again.

Great upgrade from my A57
Yes, I asked around before I got deep into DSLRs and everyone said something about Nikon and Canon, but me liking stuff that is more dynamic like Apple, I went with Sony. And after owing this model for the a few years now I do NOT regret going with a company that tries to be cutting edge. As I have found out over these last few years, the other brands now try to keep up with what Sony is doing, mirrorless, higher ISO, fast auto focus, etc. The on... Show More

Very intuitive camera
I actually have two A77V bodies which I realize are a bit old. I just replaced one that was lost to a rogue wave on an Iceland beach. Even though the camera body and lens were toast after being swept into the ocean and dragged along the black lava sand beach, the memory card compartment was dry! I was able to rescue the card and save all the images, my main concern (other than my near drowning). I've been using the A77 cameras for 3 1/2 years and... Show More

Processor Speed is Amazing!
We bought the a77 II as an upgrade to our 2012 Sony a65 Camera. We shoot some HDR Photography. Our older Sony a65 took around 12 seconds to process HDR Photos, which can be very slow. This new a77 II processor takes less than 2 seconds to process HDR Photos. That's a dramatic improvement in processor speed, and makes shooting HDR exciting again. Other a77 II improvements over the a65 are Super Fine JPEG and 1/8000 shutter speed. The a77 II is sli... Show More

Give this up grade a try
I use this camera primarily for Landscape. Right now there isn't much of anything of interest to photograph. However just trying it out any way I can I find it very good. Very sharp photo's and very quick to focus. It looks as tho' this is going to be a worth while up grade from the A77. I am still learning the many advantages of this camera over the a77 and am waiting for the trees and bushes to flower as usual this Spring and then the colorful leaves of fall.

Geat Upgrade
I have been using the original Sony a77--a lot! -- for about 3 years in an almost entirely outdoors environment. Feeling it was time to upgrade, it was just natural to look to the a77ii. Being familiar with the format and setup made adjusting to the new camera very easy. I love the a77/a77ii's ease of use. I shoot mostly birds (with the Sony 70-400 GSMII lens) along the New Jersey beaches and jetties, the marshes of Forsythe Wildlife Refuge as we... Show More

Poor Quality control
I am in the process of returning my 4th Sony A77II. The most recent from B&H has a burn in on the glass of the top display screen. One of the others had a SD card overwrite problem. i shot all day at the zoo and the next day at Rock City Garden and the photos were writing over earlier photos I had takes. ruined about 80 photos that took hours to shoot.

Great Update to the Alpha a77
I was already a fan of the Alpha a77. Needing a second camera, I purchased the Alpha a77 II not thinking that there would be that much difference between it and the original. I was wrong. The Alpha a77 II offers so much more. It has a much more robust menu - not perfect but easier to navigate. The focusing system offers more options with the additional focus points. Although the sensor is the same number of megapixels, it is an upgraded sensor th... Show More

So far, so good!
The setting are a little bit different than the a77 I have so I'm still playing around with it seeing what works best and how it performs with my different lenses. But the early results are excellent and I think this is going to be an excellent camera that I will use for a long time. Still would like to get the a99II, but that stupid thing has been on back order for going on two months. =)

same problems
The A77II like the A65 I had before it front and rear focuses and that is using centre or flexible spot or the 79 point AF and most shots are noisey even at 100 or 200 ISO, some shots turn out ok but most are dissapointing, so the focus issue is not even consistent which makes it hard to fix, this happens with both handheld or on a tripod and 3 different lenses used, not a good camera, had an A580 before them and this was a good camera that took wonderful sharp shots, ahh the days before mirrorless mediocre

I've been a Nikon user all of my photography life but since finding Sony Cameras this year, I've sold all of my Nikon gear and moved to Sony. I tried a couple of Sony Cameras before settling on the A77 Mk II. It suits my photography more than the others, I love it. I've added a Sony battery grip so i can have two batteries and shoot for longer without having to replace batteries. This is a huge plus as well. It's a great camera and anyone wanting... Show More

Great all around camera.
Use it mainly for scenic shooting, and have taken several photo's that are felt to be the top rateted of the subjects taken. Of importance , is with a C sensor, you have more depth of field than a full frame camera, and this can make the difference in taking in big scenes. Also instead of putting on a 1.4 or 2.0 extender, all you have to do is touch a button once for 1.4, and twice for 2.0, without having to fool around with the lens. as we don't... Show More
