Great value
I shoot a G9, and I wanted a good telephoto that wouldnt break the bank, so it was down to the Oly 75-300 or the P100-300. I had reservations about mixing brands, but this has a little more range at the expense of speed, and it is currently cheaper too. I have no problems pairing it with the G9. The key is keep your ISO up around 1000 so you have fast shutter speeds, and youll get sharp shots with minimal noise. Very happy with it so far.

worth the price
i am wildlife photographer. before i use canon ...but canon lenses are too expensive for me. i buy this lens ...it's relay good ... in near future i hope to buy big brother of this lense 300mm prime lense .here i attach my wildlife photographs take from the this lens .

Is what it is.
Does about what I expected from the specs. Give it plenty of light and watch your shutter speed, and it will do its thing pretty proudly. If you have a 4/3 body and want more reach with out spending the big $$, I dont think youll be disappointed. But. If its important or Im serious, Ill reach for my canon. ;)

A Pleasant Surprise!
My out-of-box experience with the 75-30mm mZuiko began with a size surprise. I expected a bigger gizmo. Truth is, the lens shares the same 58mm thread as the fantastic-bargain 40-150mm f4.05.6 lens, and though the barrel is bigger and roughly an inch longer, the feel and operation is otherwise identical. A great lens for many applications; and it isnt expensive!
Please dont worry about the reviews saying this lens is slow! This is a GREAT lens, especially outdoors, and the price is right! I use this lens on a Panasonic GH-5 (micro 4/3 camera), and I use it exclusively outdoors. I think thats the key, because even on cloudy days, there is plenty of light to where shutter speed doesnt need to be slow to get a good shot. Terrific Travel Lens - Learn to Use It!!
I took this lens to the Galapagos and fell in love with it. But, you must understand photography and learn to use it. The major complaints you'll see have to do with it being "slow". What that means is not that it focuses slow, but rather its aperture range is 4.8-6.7 which limits maximum light entry. Great Travel Companion, Great Lens
First got the panasonic 100-300 for the extra stop and weather proofing (first non-Oly lens I've tried). However, it crashed my Oly M-1 mkii autofocus system requiring complete reset and losing all settings. Like The Size and Weight
I am in the process of adding an alternative to the heavy Nikon gear that I have been carrying and it is a pleasure to have such a lightweight lens. My Nikon supper zoom is so tack sharp that I was disappointed at how soft the 75-300mm lens was. All lenses are a compromise : cost, desired focal length, size & weight, IQ, speed, build quality, prime vs zoom, zoom range, etc. So the fair rating has to be how well did the lens meet my expectations as I integrated and balanced those attributes for my needs. Olympus 75-300 lens
This lens is much lighter than the "big ones" and so easy to handle. The pictures are sharp and clear. Use a tripod or very good monopod when taking pictures. With birds in flight, it takes very nice pictures with practice. Buy this lens, you will love it. Jim, Charlotte, NC.

After 2 1/2 years
Good results can be had with this lens, but good technique and appropriate camera settings are required when used at the long end. I found single center point autofocus and either slow or high speed continuous electronic shutter works well. This will greatly increase your chances of getting a sharp photo. Of course, manual focus with magnification and peaking will be needed when shooting thru or around branches or brush. The only other comparable lens at this time and at this price point is the Panasonic Lumix 100-300 f4-5.6 ll Power O.I.S. which from what I hear, is also a good lens.

For what it is (lightweight, super telephoto) it's great
Was able to take some amazing shots I wouldn't have considered with another lens. You do need to shoot shutter priority with high enough speeds, and tripod/monopod/bracing required.

Great Lens for the Price
After reading many different reviews on this lens I decided that the only way I could be sure was to buy the lens. I have tested it at all focal lengths and from wide open to f/11 and have found the lens to be very sharp for the range that it covers. As a retired professional photographers after 36 years I purchased the OMD system as my retirement camera. Good lens
So far very happy with the lens. Much lighter than my much more expensive 40-150 and so far the picture quality seems comparable. I've mostly used it for birds, and zooming to 300 allows me to get a much larger image from a distance.

Great price performance package but not PRO quality
Amazing zoom range in a light and compact (relatively speaking) package. Doubly amazing when you consider the crop factor, literally. I am fairly happy with the quality of the photos. Not tack sharp, but I also usually hand-hold and Olympus' stabilization can only go so far. But then-again how many other 600mm lenses could you even consider hand-holding? Great lens for the money!

Great lightweight telephoto lens,
Great lightweight telephoto for use with my E-M10. Images are sharp and I have used it to photograph birds with a high ISO to capture motion.

Glad to have the distance, but....
1. at 300mm focal length (600mm equivalent)hand-holding is difficult; need to use a tripod 2. Auto focusing is a real challenge on this, especially between 200-300mm, I switched to completely manual focus.

Great Telephoto Lens for the Mirco Four Third Format

I would buy this lens again.
I use this lens on an Oly EM1 and have shot birds, flowers, and various other subjects. the image are clear and sharp, good color and contrast. Sometimes it will hunt at the long end so I back off a bit and refocus. Its quick and quiet, compact, slightly heavier than I expected, overall a very nice addition to my group of lenses.

Better than it's cost
I found this lens to be surprisingly contrasty and quite sharp. It isn't pro quality because of it's modest maximum apertures. It's zoom range is excellent for a wide variety of work. For outdoor work it is an excellent value.
