Monitor for Photography
I purchased this monitor after reading a number of recommendations that it is highly rated for photographers. It replaces a 23 Viewsonic. I have been using Viewsonic monitors for years. I calibrate the monitor with Spyder Express. I especially like the height and angle adjustments. You can adjust the monitor up and down and tilt, to accomodate anyone's height. Only downside I see is it does not have speakers built into it. All my Viewsonic monitors had speakers, so I had to order external speakers.

Good as advertized
I had an old LG and the color was not correct, so I upgraded to the U24124M. The white was too bright right out of the box,so I had to adjust it. I also purchased a Spyder4 Pro and calibrated the unit. I develop lots of pictures, and after calibrating the unit it was great. The color you see on the screen is the color of the photo. Great monitor for the money.
I'm using this monitor on my 2009 Mac pro. Looks great for what I'm using it for. Mostly Pro Tools. Very easy to set up. Plug and play. No problems so far. I think the only thing I'm having to get used too is there is a very slight grain to the picture on white backgrounds. All in all I'm very happy with it.

This is great for photo editing and just general viewing. It is crip and clear with good color rendering.

Outstanding Monitors - Photo Editing
I purchased 2 of these Dell LED Monitors calibrated them with the Spyder Pro to be used for photo/video editing. I love the fact the that these monitors display great images for a great price, controls are in a excellent location, the VESA mounting capability was a plus as I have them mounted on a SIIG dual articulating deskmount stand. Another great thing about the monitor is USB Hub and the video input options. When I decided to purchased these monitors B&H had the best price...Period!

good monitor for price
Good medium grade monitor. Clear picture, good input options. I like the usb option where you can connect one cable to computer and then connect usb devices to monitor for easy access. i suggest this monitor for business use.

Great monitor
The monitor is everything I expected. Calibrating and adjusting the monitor is very simple. I love the fact that it adjusts both up and down as well as side to side. This was priced better than all the other retailers I checked with.

A great deal !
I am working with really high end monitors at work and I was definitely looking for something good enough at home. I found the right compromise between price and quality. Nicely built, the picture is nice, nice black and not too bright like a cheap led monitor. Definitively a great value. So I took 2 of them :)

Good Out the Box
Although I'm a TV production professional, I primarily use this monitor at home to edit videos for internet streaming and/or personal viewing. I also edit in photoshop and build graphics in After Effects. I've got the Ultrasharp hooked up by MDP to a Mac Mini (late 2012) and the two were made for each other. simple; sharp and bright
Plug and play, as expected, simple. The screen is sharp, bright and clear, great! USB input on the side, nice. Parallel or serial input, versitile. I use this for detailed circuit layout work where high resolution and clear picture is needed.

Great 2nd Monitor
I got this as a second monitor to match the first U2412M that came with a new Dell XPS 8500. It's great because of the narrow bezel means there's only a small gap between the continuous desktop between the two screens. It's very bright by default, and I have it set at only 10% and I can still see it very well in moderate light levels.

Very happy with this monitor
I bought this monitor to hook up to my laptop at my home office to save my next from strain. I use it exclusively for work - writing, spreadsheets, internet/email. The picture is great, even though my graphics card doesn't allow me to utilize the highest resolution of the monitor. Set-up was a complete breeze. Exceeded my expectations
I bought this monitor to replace a VGA only monitor that my new Win7 computer would not support. I do software, document and proposal writing and graphics work for hours a day using 2 monitors. The flat screen I kept is also a Dell which is about 2 years old. As good as the original Dell is, I am floored by the image qulaity of this U2412. Exceptional Clarity - Great Value!

Improvement over old monitor
I bought the Dell Ultrasharp 2005FPW back in 2006 and have them side by side. There is a noticeable improvement in contract and resolution with the U2412M. I will probably upgrade the remaining 2005FPW shortly. there is more plastic in the 2412M and it appears that it will 'rotate' sideways on it's stand when the power button is pressed - this doesn't happen on the 2005FPW. The 2412M does not feel as sturdy as the older monitor, but the video capability is definitely better. I would buy another one.

I scoured the internet to find a great monitor. If you can live with a 24 monitor, you will not find a better value than this Dell. For my Photoshop work and my gaming, this is just perfect for me

Better than Expected
I initially think that the screen is too bright, because i tend to use it at night, but when I finally found out that this screen's lowest output setting is just right, not too dim, not too bright. It is awesome. Also, I still do not understand what are the usb 2 are for. I haven't find any use to it as of yet. Minor thing is that it cannot be turned 180 degrees and there is no locks. When I got more money, I will buy 2 more

Looks great - meets all basic needs
Been awhile since I've had a large monitor and just love the big screen and 1920x1200 resolution. Adjustable height is nice, but still had to prop up a bit to get to my preferred viewing height as Im 6'2. Comes w/connector cables, but check your laptop/PC as I needed to get extra miniDisplayport adapter.

great value IPS
Compared to using a laptop display for photo editing, this monitor is simply a joy: with an IPS panel colors and contrast aren't shifting with every move of your head. There is a little unevenness toward the image edge, but nothing that hampers general usability. Obviously, better monitors are available at higher prices, but this one offers great value. Great Viewing Angle, Great Colors
I looked at a number of monitors before finally choosing this one. I wanted a new monitor to use with Light Room/Photoshop that would provide greater color accuracy than I had with my current monitor. I finally chose this over the ASUS IPS panels and the HP ZR2440. The colors are accurate, and remain consistent at a wide range of viewing angles. I am very happy with the performance of the monitor so far. For the price, it is an excellent IPS monitor.

Dramatic difference from TN panel
I bought this for general use/photoshop with a little bit of FSX thrown in. When I first set it up and calibrated with my Eye-one, I thought I had miscalibrated it. The default blue background was so vivid. I put the new and old monitor (fast response TN) side by side and the image on the TN looked faded and washed out by comparison. Only downside is that now that I am used to IPS pannel, it hurts to use an old TN pannel.

Great Monitor
Very satisfied with the quality and performance of this flat panel. Really appreciate the extra vertical height with 1600x1200, and having a second monitor is a real productivity booster. Vibrance and color accuracy with IPS LED are outstanding. No eye strain after using this for several hours per day. I use it for high-end 3D CAD and have not noticed any lag in refresh, but do not use it for gaming.

Really great monitor
I am super happy with this monitor. I absolutely love all of the usb ports. They are super fast. It was a total breeze to connect to my macpro. The image quality is superb and the color is just awesome for my artwork and video editing. This is the best monitor i have had in a while and it was priced very reasonably :)
