Bright, efficient, great value
Use this for web development work, web browsing, programming, Photoshop. It's a huge upgrade from my old Dell 2001FP 20. This 24 is less than 1/2 taller but much wider overall. The 16:10 aspect ratio is better than the typical 16:9, but I'd still prefer something closer to 4:3 for the extra height. It's bright, good color, very little color shift across screen or when changing angles. It's also lightweight which is good for mounting on an LCD arm.

Excellent monitor
Jumped on this deal to replace a Samsung 940BX, and it was well worth it!Other reviews mention insane brightness and a monster blue color-cast right out of the box, and they are correct. Great screen for the price!
Have been using it for photo editing and movies. Too bright from the box, I now have it set at 25. Used a profile from tftcentral, colors are fantastic! Text is sharp, no dead/stuck pixels. Screen panel is semi-matte, gives no reflections. The frame is slim and looks sleek.

Crisp, practical monitor
We use the monitor at our office as a second, larger screen for a Macbook Pro. The monitor screen is high res (1900x1200) and has great contrast. We like the thin frame design which provides a large screen area within the smallest space. Features we like: 1) Excellent picture 2) Display Port (a cheap Display port to mini-display port cable makes it easy to connect and disconnect to Apple computers) 3) USB hub in the monitor (4 ports out) 4) Nice stand moves vertically as well as tilts. 5) Excellent value 6) The monitor pivots to vertical Cons No speakers

Crisp, Clear, Bright, 1920x1200

Great monitor for the price!
Bought this to replace an old HP monitor- the brightness and clarity of the screen for web surfing and spreadsheets is amazing. Viewing pictures is amazing. Would defintely recommend this monitor.

Awesome screen, great value
Did considerable research before making this purchase and have found no real negatives. Outstanding picture quality for the price (especially if paired with a good quality video card). Easy to calibrate. Mainly used for portrait photo editing. Really makes photos come to life. No complaints whatsoever.

Excellent Monitor
This is the least expensive monitor offering IPS technology for multiple viewing angles. Less expensive monitors using TN technology are only accurate if you're sitting right in front of the screen. Very adjustable, looks great.

Beautiful Monitor
One of the nicest I've used, the size is just right for multi-tasking/word-processing without eye strain... Turned the brightness controls all the way down... no dead pixels (at least not yet--have had it 2 weeks). Am very pleased with it and highly recommend it, in this case you get what you pay for...

Great monitor
I am not a graphic designer or anything, so originally I didn't think I cared whether I got IPS or TN. But now that I have this monitor, I am very glad I went IPS. My old monitor, which is a high-end TN monitor, and which I am now using as a second monitor, looks pretty bad next to this monitor. So far so good...
It's alright. That's pretty much all I can say. I thought I would be blown away but to be honest my girlfriends 4 year old mac screen looks a lot better. Granted I haven't spent a whole lot of time adjusting the color (but I have tried) but all in all it seems a little dark in my opinion. This may be fixed with some tweaking, and I plan to do so, but out of the box it really isn't that impressive. It's a bummer that you need to calibrate it, I just need to find the time.

These are great!
I bought a pair of these to become primary monitors in a dual monitor setup for two members of the office. Aside from the excellent picture, multiple input ports (display port is becoming a lot more common), and large 'desktop real estate' (useful for very wide spreadsheets, etc.), the tilt, twist, rotate, and heigth adjust stand is what really drew me to these. These monitors are top notch.

Highly Recommended Monitor
As a power user and a gamer I absolutely love this monitor. After using 1920x1200 it's hard to go back to anything smaller. The colors are great and the response time hasn't caused any issues at all.

Excellent monitor for all-around use
I bought two of these to connect to Mac mini's. They are used in an academic research lab, so we often work on text documents, spreadsheets and DNA sequences. They seem great for our purposes. They are bright and crisp.

Great Monitor
I have previously cheaped out on $100 Acer Black Friday deals for monitors but they simply don't hold a candle to the U2412M. I am also loving 16 x 10... the extra vertical real estate is really excellent. I am barely holding myself off from getting a second one of these...

Great Monitor for photography
I use the 2412 as a second monitor. The primary is an NEC PA271W. The 2412 calibrated very easily using an x-rite sensor. When both are calibrated, the Dell is very close to the professional grade NEC. I would recommend this monitor as a low-cost compliment or primary monitor for less critical photographic purposes.

The U2412M suits my preferences: it's 1920x1200, it's LED, it's IPS. The color and clarity is wonderful. And it was a relief to see no dead/stuck pixels. I appreciate the several USB slots on the monitor(2x on the side, 2x on the back). I expect to use this monitor for a number of years; it's high quality.

Great monitor for photo editing
When I installed this monitor I was blown away with the superb picture this displayed. The larger size from my old monitor has made editing so much easier. I have not attempted to compare the display to printed photos yet nor have I tried to calibrate it. I don't expect this tobe a problem. I think it is a outstanding monitor for its price.

Just what we needed.
This monitor replaced a beloved Lacie 22 Electron Blue CRT that had started to dim after so many years of service. We use it primarily for Corel Painter and Photoshop. It was easy to set up and quick to calibrate with our Xrite Colormunki. The image is SO much bigger and brighter - it's like getting a whole new color palette.
