My first big purchase
This is my first mirrorless camera. I bought it with the sony 20mm 1.8 and the quality of the pictures are outstanding. Couldnt be happier with this purchase. The build quality is great. It doesnt feel plasticky like my 2 canon DSLRs (rebels). I chose the a7Riv over the a9 and I have zero regrets.

Incredible Camera
I upgraded from a Sony A7R III, and am very happy with the decision. The price tag is a little hard to get past, but the increased resolution and much better auto-focus make the A7R IV worth the price. As many have mentioned, the menu system is not as user friendly as some other cameras, but this camera has so many features and settings that I am not sure how Sony could drastically improve it. After playing with the menus for a while, it becomes... Show More

Wow! Future Proofed!
This camera just blows me away, I did extensive research on this camera and decided I wanted it. I had an a7iii which is a fabulous camera in its own right but this is a significant leap in technology. I have the 24mm g master and The 55 Zeiss And my pictures just look extraordinary. Is 61 megapixels overkill? Not necessarily. I feel like even if you dont need that many now, you could in the future and you could always use the super crop mode whi... Show More

Sony Alpha a7r iv review
I believe this camera is almost perfect. I feel the inner working are great, the only thing I would like to see is a better rear display. The camera itself is very fast focus and tracking is right on.

Terrific Camera
I am a former A7R2 owner and traded it vs the purchase of the A7R4. So glad I did not step up to the R3 and waited on the R4. I really appreciate the upgrade to the SD card capability. The ergonomics of the camera is much improved. 61 mp is a fabulous. Havent tried pixel shift. I bought the vertical grip which adds a noticeable amount of weight with the two batteries. Just an all around stellar camera. Very happy with the purchase.

It's a lot of fun
I've had quite a few cameras, Nikon, Canon and Sony's. I've always looked forward to a newer and better release, but the A7R4 doesn't leave much room for improvement for my use (wildlife as a hobby).

Another convert to Sony!
I have been a Canon user since film days, starting with the F1n when I was a photojournalist in the US Army. More recently, I've been using the 5D MkIV. I've been shooting more and more video lately and was not getting the results I wanted with the 5D. The autofocus was hit or miss no matter how I tweaked it and the massive 4K files were pretty useless. I had been hearing good things about the Sony mirrorless cameras, so I took the plunge and pur... Show More

Love this toy
Im not a professional photographer. I play with cameras/lenses for fun, dont take pictures for a living, and price is not a concern to me. I purchase this camera to enjoy two things: 1. Highest resolution and highest dynamic range. 2. Best auto focus. For #1, I pair this camera with Voigtlander APO-LANTHAR 50mm f/2. This combination produces the sharpest images with astonishing amount of details. Better than any other full frame cameras/lense... Show More

Officially A Sony Fanboy!
I come from a canon body and I always hesitated on converting into Sony because I invested in so much money on different canon lenses, but both Canon and Nikon has fell far behind on the full-sensor mirrorless body that it forced my hand to convert to Sony and I am not disappointed. The feel is like a true DSLR body, before the A7RIV, I didnt like the feel of the smaller body, but this version just feels right and I have big hands too. All my old... Show More

Insane resolution
This camera has insane resolution (with good lenses). Just an example - if you crop 6MP out of the frame you still get very good picture and effectively extends a range of your telephoto by factor of 3. But it is not all that you get with this camera. Because both slots are UHS-II you can setup one for JPG and other for RAW and it allows you shoot medium or small on JPG but still get what I call negative or full resolution RAW. This way you can s... Show More

Wow.
Wow. Where do I start with this camera? I finally mustered up the strength to switch to Sony after using Canon for years on end. I owned a Canon 6D for about 5-6years. Shot tons of portraits, events and videos on it. Ranging from fast paced photos/videos of live bands to nature and landscapes. A HUGE variety of work. In August of last year (2019) I upgraded my Canon 6D to the EOS 5Dmkiv. TL;DR it felt like I went diagonal instead of a dire... Show More

Amazingly sharp
If youre like me, you buy when the price is right, I bought this kit solely for the A7R IV and sold the Atomos to bring the overall cost of the A7R IV down. With the right glass and focusing, nothing compares. Extremely sharp, did some long exposure shots of the sunrise with my summit polar pro system matched with my new Sony A7R IV and Im stunned by both products, highest of quality. If youre familiar with the Sony system the menu system It took... Show More

Good Improvements
I had a Sony a7r3 before, and I have to say the bigger body of a7r4 really makes it more comfortable to handle, and makes the size of the camera body and lenses balanced. The bottom now is also far more convenient. And I do appreciate the add of lock on the exposure.

Incredible Camera and Technology
I followed the mirrorless technology for 2 years before deciding recently that the time was right to move from years of Canon DSLR shooting to the new Sony A7RIV mirrorless. There is a consideration of larger file sizes, but as a landscape, nature, wildlife, architecture photographer who likes to print larger sizes often on metal, I find the image quality to be exceptional. I have found by using high quality fast SD cards that the read/write time... Show More

Difficult AF
As a former A7III owner, I wanted to step up in resolution. After using this camera for a little over a week, Im a little disappointed. The AF hunts even with the exposure set correctly, in what I would consider normal contrast conditions. The A7III never had these problem. Other than that, a solid camera. The kit is exactly as advertised. Easy to setup and use.

Awesome kit!
That kit exactly what I need it, Sony a7riv - amazing camera. Sony memory card is fast and so far no issues at all just a bit small, but no complains, haha the tripod, Sony edition it is the perfect match for that camera, last but not least the camera bag is very beautiful and with style, so far several fellows photographers asked me where is it from, where they can buy it? hahah BH, guys! Very happy with that purchase!!!

the auto eye focus and ibis makes this camera fun to use. I can concentrate on composition rather than getting the eyes sharp which this intelligent camera does for me.

Great Camera, Ergonomics Could be Tweaked
Overall, I have been very impressed with my a7R IV so far. The color accuracy and performance have been great. If I had one complaint, I would say that the ergonomics are not quite as good Nikon's, but it still might be that I am just not used to the difference yet.

Great images, top tech
Just got my A7r4 and A9ii .. I love both but the image quality of the a7r4 is top notch. If your a portrait or landscape photographer this camera is a must have. It has all the features of a great Sports and wildlife camera as well. In a couple years every camera will be just like the a7R4 . The only thing that could possibly be better is it could be a tad bit bigger .. but thats probably because Ive been lugging around a 1dx ii for a couple years . Honestly I loved canon for so long but I am kicking myself for not switching soon. Canon cameras are like a Apple 2e and Sony is the MacBook Pro .

Outstanding camera in small package
I love the Sony A7RIV system for its outstanding performance as well as its small size. This camera is well suited for almost any type of photography. This is clearly the system I take with me on my travels because there are so many lens options, I can fit into my carry on baggage. There are so many small sized wide to mid tele manual focus prime lenses that I own that are now offered in the E mount or for which there are appropriate adapters. Ma... Show More
