Samsung 2TB T5 Portable Solid-State Drive (Black)
Fast, Compact, Silent, and Portable.
The T5 is fast, small, and so far it's been rock solid reliable. It's amazing how fast these external SSDs have gotten. The USB 3.1 Type C helps in that regard, and it has the added benefit of the cable being small, and reversible.

Fast. Very fast.
Fastest external SSD I've ever used. Paired with a MacBook Pro 13" 2014 version and write speeds are the same as the internal SSD on the MacBook. Using it for 4k video editing and Lightroom.

Excellent drive...Does what it's supposed to!
I'm using this little guy to store my movies and photo images libraries to free up space on my iMac. If this little thing was available when I purchased my 500Gb iMac, I would have gone for a 264Gb machine and saved some money. It works just fine thru the USB-C connections.

bought 2 T3 ssd drives at same time - one became inoperable - bought one T5 to replace defective drive Samsung no reply to complaint costly 700 dollars for Samsung defective merchandise

Rock solid reliability
I purchased this for storage of my music recordings. I own a couple of the earlier T3 models and they are superb. Super fast access times. They are so fast I use them in real time for audio recording/processing. With no moving parts, they're almost bullet-proof. This is my first drive from the newer T5 generation but, I expect this one to be every bit as good.

So far it is working great.
This is the second of these that I have used. Helped a friend get one and created an external backup drive with it. I use mine to boot and install Linux. I have several versions of Linux on the drive so I can boot any of them and install to a new computer. A Great SSD

Fast and, So Far, Reliable
Have only had this for a few weeks. Using it as an external drive connected to my MacBook Pro to make a back-up copy of photos as I travel. It has performed flawlessly so far. Download and upload speeds are fast (much faster, of course, than a spinning disk). The price seems reasonable for what you are getting.

Not as good as the T3 for Macs
I have a few of the Samsung T3's in 1TB and 2TB sizes. This drive is somewhat faster, comes better packaged, but Samsung phoned it in when it came to the drivers installed on Macs. My High Sierra machines hung on installation and required reboots plus multiple installation attempts. Super fast, and so small
It's an expensive drive, but for smaller files like AI, and Photoshop, it's perfect and easy to travel with. No fear of losing data due to a disk drive malfunction

Portable video and Lightroom Drive. Perfect.
I use this to download images and video while traveling. I'm going to have to get a second one to mirror it for safety, and I will. Editing video on this drive is blazing fast. It's a keeper, and takes up little to no room in my bag. Very excited to own it.

1st Rate Portable Hard Drive
I had used the previous model T3 at the same 2TB capacity and liked that portable hard drive a lot. After 1.5 years of daily use in storing work related materials I notice some issues upon opening the drive so I decided to replace it with the T5. Great drive !
Very happy with this. It's small, light and very fast. I needed a fast drive for my audio/video apps and this drive does the job. So far no issues. Mac OS10.12.6. It's still expensive and I hope prices will drop and I'll buy a couple of 2TB drives.

Fast, reliable storage - the best!
These are great for fast storage of photos while traveling and they are so much more reliable than spinning disk hard drives. I use CaptureOne Pro for editing photos using my laptop while traveling and then finish the job on my desktop after returning home. Using "sessions" rather than catalogs in CaptureOne makes this seamless and these drives give fast performance.

A great drive
These are super little SSD drives. I have attached them to iMac's with failed HD's, the older models are no fun to open up with everything that has to be removed to get to the HD. Much better to run a T5 off a USB 3.0 port on the iMac. Recently did the same to a 2014 MacBook which would not recognize its internal SSD after being dropped. The machine is running, if it dies in a few months - the T5 is useful elsewhere. Much better than spending more than double on trying a new internal SSD.

Small, USB-C, Fast
Love how small it is. Bought a third-party rubber sleeve to protect it from scratches, and keep its size. Love that its USB-C and high-speed so it feels like I've invested in a forward-looking tech accessory.

Great and tiny ssd
Amazingly tiny, also very fast. I get around 120MB/s speed even when copying hundreds of small files. Comes with two usb cables, A and C type, which is very convenient. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to friend.

Easy, fast.
Just had this a couple weeks but it works just as advertised. I edit videos in Final Cut Pro X and I can connect this drive to my MacBook Pro for when I'm on the road away from my Mac Pro. I keep the FCPX libraries on the drive and don't notice any performance issues for smaller projects.
