Fantastic Trackball
Took a little while for this 81 yr. old right hand to get used to it, but practice makes perfect ....together with a pair of those magnifying glassed you wear OVER your prescription glasses....and everything's fine!

The best mouse ever
I love this trackball with scroll ring. It is the fastest way to operate my computer. It is accurate, fast and easy. I use my index finger on the ball, thumb and second finger for the right and left buttons and my third finger on the scroll ring. Quick, simple and accurate with no fumbling for the right button. This is my second one, the first is still going after 7 years.

Works great until it breaks.
I use a trackball instead of a mouse whenever possible because I have carpal tunnel syndrome. I bought this to replace a previous Kensington trackball (different model) that lasted about two years. This one, however, lost the left-click function after about ten months. Not good enough.

suitable replacement for my old beltrack
Ill never understand why they stopped making the ball track mouse I have used for over 10 years, but this is a suitable replacement....

Almost
Everything is fine, except it is very wide. Kensington has what looks like a slimmer version. That would be better, unless you are a basketball player with large hands.

My starter trackball
I haven't used a trackball before so I have nothing to compare this to except for my Logitech mouse that is so responsive to my touch and this one isn't quite that. I was used to giving the scroll a twirl and having it run to the top or bottom of the page - just like that! The scroll ring on this is my biggest disappointment. It is not near as responsive as I would like. I can't just flick it - I have to turn it and turn it and turn it to ge... Show More

Perfect choice
My wife is on the computer all day writing a book and doing research for it. She also does video editing. I picked this out for her after reading all the reviews. She gave me a very sincere thank you and a compliment on my choice. She's very picky, she is very happy and told me that it's perfect.

Defeats Purpose of Having a Trackball
I love trackballs but had to give mine up when Windows 8 came out and have been trying to find a replacement ever since. I saw this recently and tried it. The scroll wheel is very hard to control and the buttons are very hard to click. It applies the same amount of pressure on your thumb as a mouse does and it moves the tension from your thumb to your upper arm shoulder. I will be returning the item.

Excellent Input Device
This is an excellent input device. Occupies little space on the desk, stays put, is easy on the hand and wrist, and is easy to customize, at least on a PC. We have 4 in active use at home.

Great trackball at a great price!
I've always used a trackball over a mouse. No need for extensive desk real estate. This is my second Orbit, one on home desktop and one on work desktop, both of which replaced Logitech Trackman trackballs. The Logitech was good but no scroll ring. I also have two Kensington Expert Mouse trackballs on editing machines. These are the best but a little pricey. The Kensington Trackball Works software also makes it easy to customize your user preferences and responsiveness.

Kensington Orbit Trackball
I prefer a trackball to a mouse and purchased the Kensington Orbit Trackball to replace a Logitech unit that is similar which I have been using. The Kensington unit works well as advertised, but I still prefer the Logitech trackball by a small margin.

Fits my palm
I like the big ball, I like the scroll ring Fits my hand, buttons in just the right position. My old one finally wore out after a few years.

A Necessity!!!
The Trackball is a necessity that I probably cannot live without when using my Mac or PC. It makes doing things so much more productive and easier. I don't have to worry about moving my mouse all over the place and the scroll ring makes browsing on a website a pleasure instead of a job. Now only if they made a bluetooth version so I could use it on everything I own.

Best Trackball I have ever used
I prefer the trackballs that have the ball on top to be used by the fingers instead of the thumb. The scroll ring is the best thing--most others of this style don't have anything for scrolling. It's has great accuracy and works wonderful

Second purchase of this model
Had the first one for several years. It served me well until the right button started sticking. Ordered a replacement from B&H but the new one lasted a couple of days then died and the computer refused to recognize it. Took it back to B&H and got an immediate replacement with a smile. The new one is working fine and I hope will continue to do so for a few more years. I especially like the scroll ring which is highly functional and responsive.

Good hardware, don't bother trying their software.
This works out of the box. The recommended trackball software they mention on the box made my PC ignore its mouse, until I removed it. The scroll ring and the two buttons work fine without the added software.

This is my second Orbit Trackball.
The only way I would like it better is if it was wireless. It is extremely easy to get used to and is very accurate.

in addendum...
I previously wrote a rather silly offering on this device entailing Star Wars imagery...allow me to be a bit more serious this time - I just ordered a second Kensington Trackball simply to toss into a drawer and forget about until the day should come my current one wears out and the product is no longer available. In point of fact I may even order a third one to that same effect - why - simply because once you become proficient with this instrume... Show More

Glad we bought this product, and it was on sale too!
This is a real fine product, the scroll ring is super smooth. Orbit is kinda wide, but I am getting used to it, just got to remember to not move my hand, only my fingers. My old trackball was killing my thumb, but this one is easy.

Not as good as my old Macally trackball.
It works, but I'm disappointed by the design. The ball is smaller than the one in my old Macally trackball, less comfortable. The extension for the heel of the hand doesn't attach to the main unit and keeps coming off. The extension's lower end is narrow and forces me to align my hand with it, which is uncomfortable and a nuisance. Such alignment is not necessary for operating the ball. I've gone back to the old Belkin pad with a wide support for the heel of my hand. The scroll ring may be useful when I get used to it.

IT WORKS
The left and right buttons would be better, if they were raised, so that they could be easier for the fingers to feel. I put felt pads on them.

Great left handed mouse option, scroll ring is great
I injured my right shoulder and now have to switch to a left handed mouse. This is a great left-handed option. Ball is the right size, it is wide enough to hold comfortably, and the scroll ring is an innovative idea that works really well. I did not give this item 5 starts because unlike the right-handed Logitech M570, if you have this on a keyboard tray extension, there is no place to rest the palm of your hand and you have to awkwardly suspend ...
