Great All-in-One
I've only had this camera for a short time (I have the orig. model RX-10) I am very pleased with the greater range of the new zoom lens & the extended ISO options ! Sony menus are not the best & a touch screen for some functions would've been nice , but it's an excellent camera regardless. Pricey but compared to the alternatives , worth it .

Nothing in world is like this miracle machine
The Magical Machine is loaded with Tools. The pictures are so beautiful with a nice blurry background if you desire. The Sony RX10iii is full of features so I have not had enough time to delve into many of them. 600mm is a whole new world of unseen details. It is a real machine and hence it weighs as much as a Nikon D750. But the Lens gives it the edge on all others. The only thing I am missing that stops me from rating it at 5 stars is a built in GPS for noting my exact location. The Canon 6D and 7DMarkii and the Pentax K-1 and K-3ii have that feature, why can't all cameras?

From RX10 to RX10 III
I loved the RX10 and used it for 2 years before the release of the RX10 III. The RX10 has been my go-to camera even though I have the Sony A7ii with all the available zoom lens. But as good as the RX10 was, I couldn't do birding because the reach was only 24-200. Wow. The RX10iii is 24-600 and a Zeiss 2.4-4 lens. What's not to like about that? An amazing piece of equipment!
For the money, I don't see how you could beat this camera. While not perfect, it's close. I bought this because many places I encounter as a natural history filmmaker do not allow video cameras. I know it's pretty amazing that phones, DSLRs and other still cameras are allowed. They seem to ignore the fact the these cameras shoot video. When you look at this camera, you must refrain from the apples-to-oranges comparisons. That is, this is a bridge camera with a 1 sensor and a honkin' 24-600 mm lens. I was hoping to have a lighter travel camera, instead of carrying my A7rII w/ lenses (55, 16-35, 24-240, 70-200, 150-600). not sure, can i get used to the electronic viewfinder?
great things, 24-600mm range, size for what it can do, viewfinder telling me the lens mm. negatives, no separate battery charger,camera body could easily accommodate a larger battery, no cd supplied, manual too small and not giving enough details about the operation.

GREAT CAMERA
Looks like it can be a great travel camera and even replace a lot of those heavy 400mm zoom lens. I am disabled and cut a typical L shaped handle To be a little less in height as the camera body. This allows me to use 3 fingers on my right hand to hold the right side of the camera and use the other finger on the shutter. With my left hand I can still use a walking stick.

Clarity is Awesome
Great camera. Easy to use, pics are wonderful, great functionality. Little pricey but worth it for nice light travel camera. Works great for aerials too.

Great camera just got better!
I have an RX-10 and have been very satisfied with everything about it. I purchased the model III simply because of the longer reach afforded by the 600mm zoom, and I have been completely satisfied with it. I own a Canon G3X and they are equally good cameras for general, everyday carry. You see a marked improvement moving up from the 1/2.3 sensor on most mega-zooms and they both take filters. (The Canon requires an adapter.)

Love this camera!
I've never had a Sony camera before but I am very impressed with this one. It's such a great alternative to carrying a super heavy and large DSLR lens with the same range, which I couldn't have afforded anyway! This camera is an excellent alternative to a DSLR for those who wish to carry one piece of equipment for their travel and everyday needs. I have a feeling my DSLR will be sitting in it's case for awhile.

GOOD BUT NT GREAT
Have been using my new DSC RX10 lll camera for about 5 days. Great picture and zoom quality outdoors in bright sunlight. Not so good indoors in low light because noise starts showing up at 1600ISO. Can be corrected in the On One software but still a big issue higher ISO.

Not Worth The Reach, Maybe
I'll start by saying that I run full-frame Canon glass on a Canon 6D and adapted to an a7Rii. The RX10iii was meant to be a 4K replacement for my old Panasonic FZ150, which I now use as a great everyday beater. terrible image stabilization
I was shooting video on an inspection ramp of a suspension bridge in Lisbon with the this RX10 and a Panasonic GH4. The footage from the Sony was unusable because the vibration on the bridge caused this weird image modulation and the Panasonic by comparison was perfect. If I had realized that the image stabilization feature of the this RX10 is so poorly implemented I would have turned it off.

A great stock video camera
I am giving 5 stars considering all the gravy you are getting for a point and shoot. RX100 mk3 is a daylight camera. The image quality on the files is not good enough for professional use unless the picture is well lit. The grain and noise patterns brings me back to the old days when I had a Sony F717. Not to big, not to small. A total surprise overall
I purchased the camera the first day offered by B&H. I was totally surprised on ease of use on dials and the menu. I have never used a electronic viewfinder, and to my excitement WOW! Versatile but heavy
I'm gonna keep my III. It's just so versatile. Stills look better than any 1 out there and video is even better. I have owned two Is, one II and now the III. So there's the good. Now the OK and suspect. First, this thing is one heavy son of a gun. It doesn't bother me since I've lugged around betacams half my life. For me the extra heft helps stability. Quite Amazing
Just purchased this camera a few days ago. Very simple to use. Easy to wifi to my iphone. (press the trash button for the password!). The color is natural and it is close to what you see is what you get. I was thinking of the Leica Q, but this camera is much more useful on holidays. I was advised that low lighting may induce more noise due to small sensor. So will compensate by using tripod and lower ISO.

This camera delivers
I'm using this to capture stills and video in low-light concerts and events. It's the perfect all-in-one for times when you just don't want to lug the big DSLR and all the glass. The lens on this camera is very good at all focal lengths. You'd pay $1000 or more for a 150-600; get this camera first. Focusing could be a more responsive, especially on the long end, but this is manageable. You'll find ways to compensate.
