I would recommend this as an all in one camera
The set up was fairly easy. I am a nikon person and purchased the camera to take on a safari to Botswana and needed to travel light, yet with a telephoto length lens. I have not tried to set up any of the special settings as of yet. Test images at ISO up to 800 were sharp with little noise.Camera is significantly lighter than my Nikon D800e, particularly with a 80-400mm lens. Have not tried to take images of moving objects yet to test the camera'... Show More

This is a phenomenal camera
I own 2 Nikon SLRs and one Fuji mirrorless camera. This Sony still blows me away. The image quality is fantastic, both in terms of sharpness, color and low light ability. The focusing speed and accuracy is also really good. And to have a 24-600mm all in one zoom is something that every photographer wants. I use it for street photography, and love the fact that I can photograph people across the street without them knowing. I recommend this to everyone who loves photography!

An Excellent Bridge Camera
All of what you generally read is true. It takes very good pics over essentially the full zoom range. It's a bit heavy but given the optical quality and the features, including the big zoom, it's not bad. Movie features are great and so is the quality. Use an external mic. You have lots of options here. While I love my Canon 5D Mk III and a collection of good lenses, when you can't or don't want to haul all the big guns with the heavy glass, this... Show More

Love the camera, documentation not so much
Love all the features of the camera but the documentation that came with the camera is severely lacking in scope.

a perfect camera (for what I need)
I do birds and wild-life photography. I only do stills. My usual gear is bulky and heavy and I use rarely a shorter than 600mm lens. Portability is in my case an issue. I acquired this camera recently and I tested it only a few times. I liked the sharpness and the overall quality of the image. The fact that camera has RAW and its more than reasonable size and weight (considering of course the specifications of the lens) are worth mentioning. With... Show More

Looooooooove this camera!
I have been using the Sony DSC-RX10 III for about 6 months now, and I absolutely love it. In fact, many times it has replaced the use of my Nikon D750. The performance of the lens and sensor is so good that I recently traded in my Tamron 150-600 that I used with my D750. I found myself using the Sony more often for wildlife. It's a joy to shoot with, very light and compact when compared to an SLR with a big lens like the 150-600. Image quality is... Show More

WOW ! Amazing camera !
This is an incredible camera with all the features you could want: Long lens, short lens, 1 sensor, DSLR capabilities, 4K video, intelligent processor, manual mode, rugged build, compact size and reasonable price. I am still learning all the many menus and functions. For my intermediate use, it's all I will ever need for a wide variety of shooting situations. Disappointing that it does not come with a separate battery charger or case, but those a... Show More

Fantastic all around camera
I use this camera as a replacement for my A7Rii and a bunch of lenses when traveling. I am always afraid to get dust and dirt on my sensor as well as dropping expensive lenses as I change them and the RX10-iii has alleviated all those fears. The pictures are excellent, sharp, with excellent color. The only thing Imiss is the ultra-wide angle lens (10 mm) so I use my A7Rii for those kinds of shots. The videos are superb. Other than the price I have only good things to say (but then again...nothing good is free)

Perfect all in one camera.
This is the best camera I have used for my hiking adventures. It is not the smallest camera I have used, but has the reach for when you want to get close. It is light in weight for its size. For those that don't like the Sony menu system, it is easy enough to customize the fn and custom function buttons to give you one click changes. I would suggest to anyone getting this camera to download the more extensive manual, as the one that they package with the camera is highly abridged

Outstanding sharp images and great zoom to 600mm!
On a recent trip to China I realized that my Canon T6s as well as Canon 18-135 Nano lens and Canon 100-400mm L USM were being outperformed by the Sony RX10lll I purchased for my wife in August 2016. While I was switching lens and carrying around 7 pounds worth of gear costing over $3,000., my wife was getting better pictures with the single lens Sony RX10lll, without changing lens and half the weight. After we returned home and I saw images on ou... Show More

Second 5 Star Review; after a few months, it gets BETTER
Just returned from a shoot in San Miguel de Allende and this camera still blows me away. The top photo of the gardener's watch, working on the ground floor, was taken from the 4th floor of the rosewood Hotel. As a professional photographer, videographer and teacher of photography, I must say this is the best camera I have ever owned. Street photography, landscapes, night-all made picture perfect with this camera.

All about lens
Yes, it's expensive. Yes. it's heavy for a compact camera. But that sharp 24-600mm lens make everything worth it.

Best Bridge Camera I could Find!
Zeiss Glass cannot be beat. 24-600 range in one lens gives tremendous latitude, without too much sacrifice in quality. The camera does hunt to focus, but only occasionally, mostly in low light. Incredible build quality over it's rivals, although somewhat larger, and heavier due to the all metal body. Pricy, but well worth it. Customer Service at B&H is the best. I am very happy!!

Fantastic Camera !
First, kudos to B&H for a great deal and super-fast shipping. The gift card allowed me to pick up filters, xtra battery and case for nada. Best deal out there! The RX10 III is awesome. So many options and ways to customize for my type of photography. Or just shoot on AUTO and the camera does it all for you. Great picture quality. Lots to learn - but not from the factory manual ;-(. I would buy it again....
I like the camera, it has the advantages of a Dslr feel and abilities, with the All in one option.... still find it a task to learn the camera and use its software and do not like that the autofocus is trying to focus with the tele all out, but am pleasantly impressed by the images. Do not find nice having to pay for the available PRO version of the software, but am liking the images and the magnification, so far, only had it for ten days amn sho... Show More

Nice camera; particularly for travel
This is my second RX10. I was a fan of the RX10 I, and I like the improvements on this one -- especially the longer lens. When I'm traveling with family, or for work, I have always liked Sony's RX100 and now the RX10 III is proving to me to be a nice alternative. Bulkier, but with a much longer lens for telephoto shots. I've used it a lot since purchasing it, and can see myself buying later versions.

This is a great camera.
This is an awesome camera. The lens is tack sharp at all zoom ranges. 149 menu options give you lots of control of every parameter on the camera. While pretty hefty for a bridge camera, it feels very solid and comfortable to use. Allegations of slow focusing are unfounded. I have not had any focus speed issues at all. It may hunt at full zoom on poorly lit low contrast objects, but that is not unusual and common among other cameras in that situat... Show More

Great Overall Camera
I do a lot of street photography and the range of this zoom from 24-600mm and the compact size of the camera is ideal. I also have photographer friends who do a lot of international travel, and they love this camera since, in addition to its relative light weight, take this along rather than their SLR and an array of lenses. I find the built-in flash to be surprisingly adequate. I do, however always use a Puffer. I am very satisfied overall. I al... Show More

Incredible Bridge camera
I shot 35mm for 40 years. I went digital 12 years ago starting with P&S and a Fuji superzoom which was OK but not great. I then graduated to a DSLR and then Sony SLT cameras. 4 years ago I bought an RX100 and was amazed at how good a pocket camera could be. When the RX10iii came out last spring I thought finally the superzoom I always wanted, a 1 lens solution covering 24-600. I've been using this camera for 7 months and to say I'm satisfied woul... Amazing Camera
I bought the Sony RX10 III as a backup for Nikons for a long landscape photography trip. The Zeiss Sonnar lens is amazing. It yields sharp pictures handheld indoors at 600 mm. While i will use the 36 MP Nikon for wide angle scenes, the Sony will be used for tele shots and backup. It's far lighter than Nikon tele lenses and gives excellent results. There are no other 600mm f/4 lenses available that are this light or inexpensive. I like the old sty... Show More
