A major move from Nikon to Sony
I had been a Nikon user since I was 13 or over 50 years so this move to Sony was both long in coming and difficult. In fact it was similar to my move to digital vs film which also took a while but I have never looked back. As I was moving from the D800 and D7200 cameras to the Sony I expected similar or better performance and usability. I have now had the camera for over 2 months and travel out of the country for 30 days having taken over 5000 pi... Show More

Best Camera I Ever Owned
They say patience is a virtue and whoever "They" may be, are absolutely right!!! I waited a long time for a camera like this. When I started photography I wanted to save a few bucks and go with the lesser and try and make it work. After beating my head against a wall loosing great shots, I sold everything and waited. At first I was saving for the Sony A9 but that would set me back so far I would not be able to buy any good glass. When the Sony A7... Show More

Small but powerful! Amazing auto focus!
I have been a Nikon DSLR user for a decade. It's was a hard decision to sell all my nikon gears to go to sony. For me , Nikon is always performing and reliable. But it's just too heavy to carry around, especially when you have small kids. I have not taken proper pictures for the past 5 years since my daughter was born. Now with A7, i think i can carry my cameras everywhere again! with 35mm/F2.8 and A7M3, the weight is even less than a single D7... Show More

Amazing Camera
After owning the A7Sii for over a year, it's so nice to have another camera on hand. One huge negative though, it does not come with a battery charger. You must purchase one separately. 1080p/120fps!!! Yes!!!

I love this camera but after two month use only for video never use for photo "Camera Error. Turn power off and then on." this is stabilizer problem I think this is Sony manufacturing problem and still they find solution for this error that is the reason they have no stock in market

LOVE
I had the 6300 before this camera, which was also excellent, but I am in LOVE with my A7III. I am a real estate photographer and use wide angles primarily, and the detail is phenomenal. The sharpness in low light is unbelievable. I'm able to edit quite a bit without losing quality or creating grainy corners. I definitely recommend this camera.

Great camera, ok lens
The camera itself is great in every aspect. I would only recommend this lens if you are new to photography / want a small zoom lens, otherwise I do wish I got the 24-105 kit.

"Camera Error. Turn power off and then on."
Let me start by saying I love this camera and the quality of images it produces. Now that that's out of the way, I've been one of the unlucky owners who have experienced the what appears to be becoming infamous "Camera Error. Turn power off and then on" shutter assembly breakdowns. I'm a very busy real estate photographer who shoots pretty much every day and this camera was everything I had hoped for when I purchased it on release day. The other ... Show More

Although new to the system, it is extremely awesome!!!
My time with the 7iii is limited but it is amazingly turning out to be the best move I could have done. I started out with large body sheet film cameras and then to 35mm film. My camera of choice was from Canon, an A-1, then to the XTI in digital, and 7D which I still use. But with age creeping in I wanted something small with lots of performance. Deciding upon the 7III was easy as I have a RX100 which has performed exceptionally as a pocket ca... Show More

From Canon to Sony
I upgraded from a Canon 7D to the Sony a7 III and I absolutely love it! It's a full frame, mirrorless camera in a small package at a great price! I'm planning on capturing a lot more video and the auto-focus and image quality are really outstanding. I also purchased the FE 24-105mm G f/4, the 16-35mm G-Master f/2.8, and the 55mm Zeiss f/1.8. These lenses are pricier than those I've previously purchased for my Canon, but smaller and of decent qual... Show More

In Love
I'm in love with my new Sony a7 III camera. I'm a small person and this camera fits perfectly in my hand, and provides me with a sturdier grip than I've ever had with previous DSLR cameras. My previous cameras aren't comparable to the a7 III, but I would still like to say that I am stunned by the image quality. Even in a low lit room, I was able to capture awesome shots. Coming from a Nikon DSLR, I haven't found an real issues with the menu or accessibility. Just took a few minutes to figure out where everything is.

Wonderful Camera!
Coming from shooting with the a7s and then the a7sii, this camera was a surprising joy to shoot with! The extended battery life and dual card slots is already a huge plus, and for a whole $1000 less than the a7sii. The continuous autofocus for video is outstanding. Very responsive and accurate. I bought this camera knowing full well that it didn't come with a charger. Know what I did? I bought a charger and one extra battery. Locked and loaded!

Very interesting but Stupid!
I'm a professional video and still shooter who was a Nikon for more than 20 years, I switched to the Canon 5D mkii when it came out because it was better than the Nikons of the day. A few years ago I started using a Lumix for under the radar shoots. Then, Last September I needed a cheap 4k video/still camera for a Hurricane Irma shoot. So, I jumped on the Sony bandwagon. But this review is supposed to be about the a7iii. I got it because it ... Show More

Excellent IQ
So far the camera is fantastic, and the kit lens is ok, but not great. The build quality seems slightly less good than the A7RM3. Most people wouldn't be able to tell that difference. Slightly less EVF resolution, and obviously 18mps less sensor resolution than the A7RM3. A7M3's iso is better, and I suspect the newer sensor is a bit better too, with the exception of the resolution. Sony calls this their basic model, but it's lightyears ahead of anything else in it's price range, and that's a fact.

If you're even thinking of switching to Sony... Just do it.
I understand while everyone isn't able to purchase this camera because of stock reasons, I would 100% recommend this camera to anybody looking to switch over to Sony (unless you're shooting with like... a 1dx, 1dxmii, or maybe a 5dmiiii). I upgraded from a Canon rebel t6i and WOW. I mostly shoot video so when I witnessed how fast and accurate this af system was, I was completely blown away. My first mirrorless Camera
I am impressed with the autofocus and the quality of the sensor. I mostly do beach portraits at sunset with a prime lens for the extra light. The steady shot combined with the autofocus has completely changed my shooting style. Now I can see the shot in realtime in my viewfinder! This frees me up to focus on shot composition and my subjects. What a great Camera.

Awesome
I love this camera. I recently had the A7ii & I loved & hated it but the A7iii is a lot different. I love the new battery life, seems to last as long as a DSLR would. I love the larger grip. It is a bit heavier than the A7ii though but not bad. The focus is fast & hits everytime. I still have an issue with trying to use the AF button for back button focusing. I tend to fiddle around trying to find it & moving the focus point around using the new knob is odd for me. But overall I love it.

a7III really is all that!
Thank you owners for all the video and reviews of the Sony a7III. Y'all helped me make a grest decision! I'm not as technical at 56 years old. I just know great video and photos when I see it. So moving forward from where I've been, this camera rounds out my arsenal. The a7III has lived up to all my expectations. Just remember, any camera needs the right lens for your needs. If you have the wrong lens for the job, don't blame the a7III. The 28 -70 is just a basic lens to get started. But the capabilities of the a7III are spot on.

Long-time Nikon SLR User Switches to Sony A7 III
I've been using Nikon SLR's and DSLR's since 1976. I photograph sports and theater performances as well as family, friends, and travel shots. Most recently I've been shooting with a Nikon 610 full-frame camera. Early reviews said that the $2000 Sony A7 III was not only as good as the Nikon cameras in the same price range but in many ways even better. The A7 III was compared to the $3000 Nikon models. Despite the obstacles around Sony's navigation menu, overall, this camera is totally worth its retail price tag by far. As a long time Canon user who was on the band wagon hype at the time with the 7D and 5D, it was quite a hard decision to switch over due to owning canon lens. After a few weeks of hands on and being a videographer over a photographer with just the lens kit, I'm blown away with the recording quality. The custom buttons for key ma... Show More
