Perfect Size, perfect camera
After reading reviews, articles, more reviews, and opinion pieces about this camera I finally snagged a used like new for myself complete with the Lens I had wanted. This is my first mirrorless camera and a BIG upgrade from my 13 year old Canon Rebel EOS T1i and Nikon D50....So big Im a little scared to take it out of the house. My own hang ups about expensive gear aside I love this camera. The reviews are not wrong about what it can do so if you... Show More

The "basic model" that does it all
I'm extremely happy with my purchase. I sold my Canon 5D II and four lenses to upgrade. I needed a fresh start and this camera filled all my needs. Great for photos. Great for video. Great for slo-mo and timelapse. Great for slog and color grading. Great for 4k. Make sure you get an extra battery with wall charger, as the only way to charge batteries is using the camera itself... which means you can't use the camera when charging your battery. W... Show More

Great all around camera
I have had the A7lll for over two weeks and have taken a few hundred photos with it. I also have an A7ll and there are some definite improvements in the A7lll. At first I didn't notice a difference in good light as far as photo quality and focusing. The A7ll is still a good camera. I first noticed a difference when I was taking indoor photos of people at 5000 ISO. Unless I cropped in a ridiculous amount I could see no noise on the photos. Faces h... Show More

This thing is a beast!
I came from an A6300 so IMO the picture quality wasn't a night and day huge difference, i didn't buy this camera for that reason. I bought it for some of its other specs....better low light performance, Dual SD card slots, proxy video files, and the numerous little other features that you don't think of but once you use them you're glad they're available. -Low light capabilities is alot better...the noise seems to be "fine" and not "coarse" noi... Great upgrade from D90
I upgraded from a Nikon D90 to Sony A7 ii. That was one of the best upgrades I have ever done. For an amateur, being able to see the exposure before taking a photo helps me take photo more in manual mode. But A7 ii too was too noisy indoors. So I upgraded to A7 iii, and the auto focus improvements and the ability to touch and change focus are really awesome improvements. Plus the battery performance is a very welcome change. Not have to worry abo... Show More

Amazing Camera! Great Ordering Experience!
I am thrilled with the Sony A7iii. I've had it less than two weeks, but I am very impressed with the camera matched up with the Sony 24-105mm lens. I've always had a crop sensor camera so this is my first full frame camera and I've glad that I made the jump. I absolutely love the new Z battery as well. I was able to get just over 1,000 pictures on my first charge of the battery! That is a lot better than the advertised 710 pictures. That was my b... Show More

Monitor ISSUE
I received this camera two days ago BRAND new. I made my own custom keys and was very excited to use it. Today, I went outside to take few pictures and record a video for roughly 10 seconds. Then, I switched from Video mode to Photo mode, suddenly the monitor will not show any image. If I click menu, it will show on the menu, if I take a picture and click the playback button, it will show the picture. However, it still will not show any liveview.... Show More

Strange Colors appear!! Need your help. (Silence mode OFF)
First, I already turned OFF the Silent mode and e-Front Curtain but this strange colors (look like rainbow to me) keep appeared on my object ( my dark pants, hat and short) not only in my room but outside too. I have researched this issue on Youtube and GG but turn the silent mode and e-Front Curtain either both on or off does not work. I just bought this camera and very disappointed. I also change the DATE/Time to year 2037 and turn off and chan... Show More

Although new to the system, it is extremely awesome!!!
My time with the 7iii is limited but it is amazingly turning out to be the best move I could have done. I started out with large body sheet film cameras and then to 35mm film. My camera of choice was from Canon, an A-1, then to the XTI in digital, and 7D which I still use. But with age creeping in I wanted something small with lots of performance. Deciding upon the 7III was easy as I have a RX100 which has performed exceptionally as a pocket ca... Show More

Love It
Ive had the a7 III for a couple of weeks now, and I love it. It feels good in my hands, and the quality of the construction of the body is indisputable. One of the many features that I love is touchscreen focus tracking. For video shoot, it is a must have. I recently shoot some sports action stills to test the 10 FPS claim and was extremely please with the results of the photos. In fact, I reordered the shoots and stitched them together and the r... A migration from Canon to Sony
I have other Sony cameras (crop sensors) but this is my first step into migrating from the Canon ecosystem that I have lived in for the past 10 years as my primary camera. My main motivation for moving to this camera was due to the improved video capabilities over my Canon. As my work slowly is transitioning from just still shooting to still+video work, I feel limited by Canon's offerings for video. When I do event video, I really don't want to d... Show More

Great Camera even for a beginer
Over the last couple of years I have been getting into photography. I have been traveling to alot of amazing places and wanted to learn how to capture those moments. I started out with a Sony A6000 and that was a good little camera for what it was. What I was missing was the opportunity to shoot video in 4k. I then moved on to the Sony Rx100 mkV. I still use this camera it is the best point n shoot camera on the market. I have been looking to get... Show More

What a camera should be in an affordable package!
Wow. This thing is amazing. The only thing I would have wished for would have been a 30mp sensor for that last little bit extra when you need it. I'm switching from Canon and like using my Sigma 150-600 C on this body. My other lenses adapt pretty good but I can easily see me getting native Sony or more Sigma glass in the near future. I got it and the FE 85 1.8 lens and that combo is deadly! Fast, accurate and sharp as a razor! Did I mention it w... Show More

Amazing camera. Amazing price. Just buy a charger.
Just received my a7 III and this is the perfect camera for both photo and video. I'm a wedding film maker and was looking for a 3rd body to add to my arsenal (2 a7s II's) but also wanted a higher resolution camera for photography without breaking the bank. After watching a few reviews regarding its low light capabilities I was sold. Now that I had a day with it to personally check it and run it through its paces, I'm glad I made the investment. ... Camera is Great! Accessory Kit is bad strategy!
Purchased the Sony Alpha a7iii along with disk and extra battery as a kit. First of all the camera is a must purchase and it does an excellent job of performing all those nice features. With regards to the strategy of making a kit up with extra battery and disk, well for me this is a BIG BUST! The cards in the kit are compatible per Customer Service and NOT recommended by the Tech guys at B&H. It is like selling you the small spare tire that come... Show More

No way to charge an extra Battery while shooting
I just got this camera today and the first thing I noticed while unboxing it was that it does not have a dedicated battery charger! The only way to charge the battery is to connect an AC adapter straight into the camera. This makes me think Sony didn't plan on any professional photographers buying this camera. I always like to have my depleted batteries charging to ensure I never run out of power. I'm sure I'll have some great things to say a... Show More

HIgh Cost - High Quality
I'm an advanced amature converting from Nikon to Sony. I didn't have much glass invested in Nikon and none would fit Sony anyway so the change was fairly easy. The more I learn about this camera, the more I love it. Read MANY reviews. Still, I'm finding little gems like hold the shutter down half-way in manual focus mode and getting a zoomed-in image in the viewfinder that lets me focus on minute details. Very cool! I'm a frugal sort, so I'm p... Show More

Love the Sony a7III
Hey, B&H asked for it so here goes.... I've been a professional photographer for over 40 years and a Canon guy for all of it, until 6 years ago. I made the switch to Sony and have never looked back. Now on to the review. Please get the a7III, (not the a7II). It's faster, more features and they finally made a larger battery so you don't have to change them every hour or so. And it has two SD ports and they let you choose how to configure them, (on... Show More

Amazing
First and foremost this camera is amazing, if you're seriously considering buying it, do it you won't regret it. Secondly, don't listen to everyone who's complaining about the lack of a charger, you still get a cable and a power brick that will charge the battery via the camera; however, you will not receive a dedicated battery charger which would be nice but it isn't really that big of a deal. Also, the battery lasts insanely long, nearly a full... Show More

very customizable
I've been using a 5D mkII for years, and this camera is like re-entering the digital age. Everything is customizable, there's a bunch to learn about video. That being said, I've had this camera for two months and I'm very happy. Set it up who you'd like, then learn your shortcuts (Fn. Buttons, quick menus, etc), and you can handle a variety of situations very quickly. Low light performance is stellar. I've used a metabones adapter heavily. I... Show More

A compact jewel
I'm no stranger to cameras and I started with a Nikon F way back when. My last professional camera was a Canon IDS Mark II which as many know, can hardly be topped. But this Sony A2 III does everything and more and it does it wrapped in a small comfortable well designed package. It took me two days of study to begin to understand all the menus and options and I'm still foggy about it. I know it can do more than I will expect of it. The photograph... Show More

Low Light usage and FPS speed as advertised
After shooting 2,500 photos with this camera I feel comfortable giving a review! Heres what I really like: Low light capabilities, burst FPS speed, auto focus speed, in camera stabilization, cache size. Heres what I dont like: Sony menus are cumbersome and unfamiliar coming from Nikon. I do a lot of cold weather shooting and its hard to make menu changes. Amazing piece of photo technology!
This Sony A7III is a wonderful camera. It's almost like magic when it just knows how to create the perfect exposure...even at night. The sensor resolution seems adequate and the larger pixels allow more light in hence the incredible night shooting capability. The face recognition is astoundingly good. The menus take some patience to learn but are better than the older Sonys. If you shoot people or at night, this A7III is hard to beat, even with a... Show More

Cinematic Quality at a Reasonable Price
I purchased the A7iii primarily as a second camera, used in conjunction with an A7Riii and/or a Sony A9. For video, it is a close match for the A7Riii, since both have S-Log options. Of course it does an excellent job for stills too, and 24 MP is more than adequate most of the time. This kit comes with an Atomos Ninja V recorder/monitor, which is small enough to mount in the flash shoe without undue strain on the camera. The Ninja records 4,2,2 ... Show More
