Very nice, but IQ is not so good
I bought this instead of Olympus because for me, no EVF = no deal. This camera has a great feature set for its category. It is very well built. The EVF is small but bright and makes all the difference. The burst mode at 5fps seems almost unlimited (I quit after 40 shots). You can use Extra Optical Zoom to extend the range of the telephoto (no degradation of image, just 10mp instead of 20mp). The IQ isn't the best, but I've owned the Olympus TG2... Show More

I love this camera!
I use this camera for videos and also for a wider angle shot in contrast with than my Nikon with my 85mm prime lens. I like to have this camera on my belt. I like that it is small and weather proof. The intelligent automatic setting is really great! I like all the tricks and intelligence this camera has. Images are really sharp. I upgraded the wrist strap to have a more substantial holding of the camera.

Surprisingly good camera
I bought it primarily for the EVF and the compact design. The grip and the solid feel make it a very nice all-around camera. The zoom range is good and I knew the lens quality from the TS3. With the custom IQ settings and the post-processing I always do with my cameras, Im getting excellent images, even at moderately high ISO settings. Very good auto-focus and color accuracy. Only complaint is seeing the start-up message every time.

Poor Image Quality, Slow Shutter Lag Time, and More
Very disappointed with this camera. Ive been a pro shooter for over 45 years and this is one of the worst cameras Ive purchased. This camera was to replace the older version, DC-TS5, but the TS5 is actually better in many ways. I thought the small textured thumb grip on the back would improve ability to hold the camera, but the lens zoom W-T rocker switch is immediately below it, and my thumb set the zoom in motion many many times, ruining the ph... Worst camera I have ever owned
Ive owned my share of cameras since 1986. This one is a COMPLETE disappointment. I purchased it before a recent trip to Baja as a replacement for a Fuji XP70 from 2014 that I had managed to lose. The Fujis images were never great, but adequate for snorkeling snaps and especially for the $120ish price. This Lumix? It struggles to focus the majority of the time. I missed great video opportunities of ocean wildlife both above and below the surface ... Show More

4K video
4K video looks bad with SD card with less than V60 quality. Mfg, indicates that the Lumix DC-TS7 can provide great results, Not right!! If you are going to use 4K, dont get less than a V60 SD card. In Manual mode, camera is limited in F function. All other options looking good.

A point and shoot that does it all
This camera is all purpose, will do it all. Waterproof like a GoPro , tough like Olympus, but the reason I got was for the EVF. Near impossible to shoot video outside with any LCD. Put to your eye and you have a full display, frame your shot, touch the shutter button to focus and then press the red video button. The camera is big enough to hold steady. Image quality is fine. Unusual time lapse function. After you set the interval and number of fra... Show More

Compact point and shooT with an EVF!!
A point and shoot that can do it all. Got this camera because of the electronic viewfinder. Its small but necessary when shooting outdoors, always frustrating in video shooting when you cant see the image on the LCD screen, especially if the camera is running or not, and the camera is steadier when its against your eye. Slo mo video is good and the time lapse function is unlike other cameras. You can make a video but it keeps all the individual f... Show More

Great sports camera
I have the Panasonic Lumix DC-TS3 and like it. I like the DC-TS7 more. The body, build quality and ergonomics are excellent. I read many reviews before purchasing this. Many reviewers say the autofocus doesn't work, fuzzy images, etc. I find the wide-angle and mid-range images to be sharp. Images at the most extreme telephoto setting are soft but that doesn't concern me because I'll seldom zoom to that degree. The viewfinder is small but surprisingly useful. I'm keeping it.

initial thoughts
Just unboxed, and haven't actually shot anything with it yet. So far it's set up like other Lumix. Seems pretty solid. My gripe so far is that the included "charger" is a cheap USB charger with a USB cord. Not a separate charger. This means leaving the battery in the camera with the battery compartment door open, as of course the USB connector is inside the battery compartment. For an extra couple of bucks a proper charger would have been nice, p... Show More

soft image slow AF, not worth the price
just received it today and tested it in the field. Huge disappointment. Rushing to BH for a quick return. Soft image while shooting video in 4K. Other action cameras are much sharper. This is my fifth Panasonic TS camera. I have all the models up to TS7 and never been so disappointed.

Almost perfect - Casi perfecta
This camera has almost everything to be the best camera of adventures, it has good image quality. But, it needs 120p recording in Full HD What happened Panasonic? This was your chance to lead the market and you wasted them.
