Beautiful things come in small packages

May 29, 2014

I've been using the M.Zuiko 12-50 mm kit lens for my macro. After I got this little beauty my whole perspective of the macro world has changed. I've only got the lens a week ago but I'm totally in love with it. I'm sure anyone who buys one won't be disappointed

Up close and personal Olympus 60mm Macro

May 13, 2014

Very versatile lens for many uses not just Macro. Weather proofing is an excellent feature as lots of macro shots present themselves in rainy weather. I have used a number of macro lenses and I believe this one will remain a favorite for it's compact size, convenient range allowing a bit of distance from the subject and outstanding sharpness. Olympus should provide a shade with the lens. The collapsing design of the optimal shade is very convenie... Show More

M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 60mm

May 9, 2014

I got this lens to shoot video with my new Panasonic GH4. It works very well. Does not have image stabilization, but I always use a tripod so no problem. I was holding out on my purchase until the lens was discounted. Bought it for $*. Auto-focus works well.

Absolutely amazing

May 7, 2014

In love with my macro, it allows me to capture my plates better. After giving up my SLR and switching to micro 4/3, I have no regrets. My lumix gx7 is my new child! This Olympus lens literally has blown me away. Thanks B&H Photo, you always deliver quality.

Light in Weight, Huge in Performance

Apr 7, 2014

This replaces a Canon macro as I have moved to a 4/3's system. Love the f2.8, the lightweight, and sharp images, Once I figured out how to use it, I haven't been able to put it down. (See Cons)

Excellent, Sharp Macro Lens

Apr 2, 2014

I use this lens on a Lumix GH3 and find that it focuses fast and accurately. I live just down the street from an arboretum that offers a multitude of macro opportunities, especially in the Spring and this is where this lens will see much of it use.

Odd focusing system

Feb 22, 2014

Ok, understand I'm comparing this lens to my macro lenses on Nikon (60 and 150). The focus system in the lens is actually very quick, and in some respects alters my thoughts on how to do macro. Normally I would manually focus and then move in and out to get focus sharp. The E-M1 and this lens that doesn't work too well, even focus peaking doesn't help. There seems to be just a slight lag that keeps it from working well. What I have found though i... Show More

Sharp & Lightweight

Feb 18, 2014

Narrow & longer then you would think but very lightweight. Quality seems to be very good and weatherproofing is a plus. Appears to be a very sharp lens but composition is a little more difficult because it has 2:1 magnification 35mm equivalent. So far very happy with this lens.

Great sharp Macro Lens

Feb 14, 2014

Used mainly as a macro on my E-M1 with the IBIS can do a lot of macro's without the tripod. As you get in really close at 2.8 focal plane is shallow so either need to brace arm or use tripod. also an excellent medium telephoto lens, great rendering and color. My macro before was the Tamron 90mm coupled with the Canon 7D. I much prefer this lens's rendering and coupled with the IBIS of the E-M1

Glad I bought this lens

Feb 8, 2014

I'm not big on macro photography, but my friend convinced me to pick up it since it was on sale. I am GLAD I did, this lens is awesome. When I received the package I thought the box was empty but it was because this lens is sooo small and light. It looks like a toy at first glance. This lens is tack sharp and did I mention its also splashproof which is a nice bonus. The little dial on the side is nice for macro shots, when you set it to 1:1 macro mode the lens goes to a set focus.

Nice additional to my camera kits

Feb 6, 2014

Traveling light is the reason for me to switch to M4/3. This lens does not violate my rule. I've never thought one lens can serve dual purpose -- semi-telephoto and macro photography. And this lens does not add much weight and space to my bag. There is a small bonus -- I don't have to carry extra filters. I own Olympus E-P5 PEN Mirrorless Digital Camera with 17mm f/1.8 Lens and VF-4 Viewfinder. This lens uses the same filter as 17mm lens. Other r... Show More

Dec 31, 2013

Even though I had read a lot of favourable reviews before buying it, this lens still exceeded my expectations. Mounted on my Lumix G5 I found it very sharp, with surprisingly fast auto-focus, bright, light-weight, easy (intuitive) to learn and use -- the lens deserves all the favourable reveiws it has received.

Macro for micro four thirds

Sep 17, 2013

After ordering the wrong four thirds macro, I bought this one. I wish it were 50 mm and f2.0, but oh well. It works fine, and I'm glad I have it. Works just fine on my Olympus PEN E-P3. Opens up lots of new possibilities for me, as I do a lot of food photography, as well as flowers.

I shoot a lot of weddings and have started using a 4/3 system during the ceremony and hope to someday go totally 4/3. This lens is great for details like the ring and even portraits. I am not a fan of the construction however and often fear breaking it when putting it on and off the camera body... but that's me. So far no such thing has happened. Just a feel thing I guess. Excellent lens

Aug 30, 2013

Took my new lens with my Olympus OMD EM-5 on a trip to Namaqaland during the spectacular flower season to record insect-plant interactions. The images were very sharp, the colours true and the lens focussed quickly. At 68 years, I find grovelling on the ground with an eye level viewfinder somewhat uncomfortable and this camera/lens combination is really the way to go.
