Excellent Update...rechargeable is a big plus

Nov 29, 2015

This update to the Apple Magic Mouse brings one key feature that's been needed...recharging. For some reason, the Magic Mouse does use power more than other BT devices and the continual dance to change batteries was getting to be a pain. Enter this new version...plug it via a Lightning to USB cable and it charges back up with relative speed. Which brings me to the singular reason I docked it one star...the charging port is on the bottom of the ro... Show More

Extremely Reliable

Feb 20, 2017

In the past, I haven't had the best of luck with bluetooth devices. My 2013 Mac Pro sit about six feet from my desk, which apparently is stretching the outer limit of bluetooth effectiveness. I've tried various bluetooth products in the past, but returned all of them because the signal would consistently cut out. Enter this Magic Mouse. I bit the bullet and decided to give it a try, and I'm very happy I did. In several weeks of use, I have yet to... Show More

Beware

Jan 19, 2017

I had recently purchased a new Macbook Pro from B&H and later purchased the Magic Mouse 2. I couldn't pair it with the Macbook and after discussions with Applecare decided that it was faulty and sent it back. I was promptly send another and had the same problem. So, I tried pairing it with my IMac to make certain it wasn't defective and it paired seamlessly. After another call to Applecare it was determined that this had to hardwired to the Macbo... Apple Magic Mouse 2

Oct 31, 2017

I am a long time Microsoft based computer user. After the last 2 system corruptions that caused me 12 hours of work to restore, I decided that it is time to change. I bought a MacBook Pro, along with it, the Magic Mouse 2. I charge the Mouse after I receive it, didn't know it was fully charged because there is absolutely no indication lights, nor how to connect to the computer. No points were taken off from my lack of Apple product knowledge. Wha... Show More

Signal Occasionally Cuts Out

Feb 17, 2017

When the connection to the mouse works, it's a great mouse. The battery lasts for a very long time...I've owned it a few weeks, haven't charged it one time yet, and there's still 65% of battery left. Making left or right clicks is as simple as you'd expect it to be, and I like how you can swipe up, down, left or right to browse through pages in Safari. The only problem with the mouse is that occasionally the bluetooth connection cuts out...especi... Show More

An intelligent minimalist device

Jan 14, 2016

Took me a little while to get used to it, and I would have liked a 'back' button, but the swiping functions (and for all I know, a 'back' function is accessible and I just haven't found it yet) are both simple and reliable. Half the time or so I start using it upside down so that my cursor suddenly disappears in an unanticipated direction, but that's just doltish user failure and not a commentary on the design. It doesn't *quite* work on any surf... Show More

Not Compatible

Oct 3, 2018

The Apple Magic Mouse 2 (Silver) is not compatible the the MacBook, mid 2017. B&H customer service indicated to me that it was compatible and placed the order over the phone for me. In order to fix the problem I had to buy a $20 adapter from USB to USB-C. This is the second compatibility problem that B&H has created for me with the MacBook mid 2017. The first problem was an incompatible protective bumper. Over the past 3 years I have placed 3... Show More

Beautiful and functional...

Feb 23, 2016

Having recently moved from PC to Mac, one of the unexpected bonuses is this mouse. It's beautiful - all curved glass and metal; and functional, with a touch sensitive upper surface. Much nicer than wheels and buttons - more user friendly and practical, and aesthetically pleasing. Bluetooth pairing is a breeze - simply plug in once, and it's done. No batteries to change with the built in Li ion battery, quick to charge, reasonably lightweight - what's not to love? I have used and worn out many regular mice; I'm hoping for better performance from this little beauty. I love it.

Magic Mouse 2 Battery life disappointing

Feb 6, 2019

I replaced my original magic mouse because it was turning off and on and the mouse was going through batteries in about three weeks. The MM2 is the same as the original MM except that it is rechargeable. After reading other reviews on line about how long the battery charge lasted(people were saying 2 months) I decided to get the MM2. Im am not getting anything close to two months. After about a week it is down to 62%. I used to get 5 weeks out of a set of batteries before MM went bad. The mouse works as it should however the battery life is disappointing.

Loving magic mouse

Sep 9, 2018

So far I'm loving my mouse. It works smoothly. I'm love that it rechargeable. My last mouse had batteries and then it just stopped working. This mouse seems sturdier and better made than the one that comes with your Mac. I'm excited to see how long the charge holds. It doesn't take long to charge the mouse. I did have to update the version of my Mac, at purchase time I did not realize my Mac was a OXS 10.10. It was easy to update at Apple.com and took an hour for everything to install. Then the mouse was beyond easy to sync with the computer.

Great Stuff But Not for old OS

Jun 19, 2017

I got a magic mouse and magic keyboard. The mouse I am using with a new mac running Sierra (latest OS). Works perfectly. The keyboard I wanted to use with my old iMac running Snow Leopard. I couldn't get it to pair bluetooth with it, though it did work while wired. But wireless was the whole point, so I returned it. Note: Customer pays the shipping on a return like this. I found a keyboard of earlier vintage like the one I broke for my old mac online. There's no getting a new one, but the refurbished one is perfect, like new.

Good Mouse with Some Serious Flaws

Sep 30, 2019

I like some of the things about the mouse, it is designed for a MAC and works well with them. But the surface is essentially a track pad, the entire surface is sensitive to the touch. So if using something like Google Maps, any movement of your hand on the mouse causes changes in the map. Also I find that the scroll function will stop working at the top of the mouse, and I have to start scrolling down near the apple logo then can use the top of the mouse. Both of these issues keep me from giving it a five star review.

It keeps losing the connection

Jun 22, 2019

I have two of these. One I bought 3 & 1/2 years ago with my desktop which works great, and one I bought about 6 months ago for my new MacBook pro. The new Magic Mouse is very annoying because I will be using it and then a pop up on the screen says that I've lost connection with the mouse. I wiggle the mouse and suddenly the connection is restored. Half of the time, I don't bother using the mouse at all because it's annoying.

Made for the Mac

Jan 16, 2019

Its beautiful and matches my new smoke-grey 2018 MacBook Pro. And it works as advertised. The Bluetooth connection occurs quickly without prompting once discovered by the computer. That takes about 2 seconds to set up. The charge lasts a long time. Ive used it daily for work over the last 4 weeks and its at 92%. I take it with me on trips. Very low profile, light and solidly built. It has the pleasing feel of quality.

Bad, bad design

Feb 20, 2018

Pros: it works when it is charged, and it looks nice. Cons: Anyone who designs a mouse with the charging port on the bottom should be fired immediately. Period. Also, you need to use the provided USB-Lightning cable to pair the mouse. It is now 2018, and all the new MacBook pros come with USB-C ports only. My mouse does not come with a USB-to-USB-C adapter, so I had to find an adapter before I could use the mouse.

Very Happy! Bye-bye batteries

Nov 16, 2015

You must have el Capitan OX installed to use this mouse. Beyond that, it works great. Comes with a charge so you can use it immediately. I've had it for two weeks and only charged it once. It still had 40% when I decided to charge it the first time. It took maybe an hour to charge to 100%. I'm extremely happy about not having to change batteries at the most inopportune times. No more rotating rechargeables.

A nice accompaniment for my new MacBook Pro

Jan 22, 2020

I recently replaced a desktop PC with a MacBook Pro. I assumed I would struggle with the Trackpad so I bought the Magic Mouse at the same time as the MacBook. Turns out I didn't really need it but when I'm working at my desk instead of an armchair in front of the fireplace I do like to use the mouse. It was easy to master and once I set the tracking speed to its maximum setting it works great.

No battery fuss

Feb 8, 2016

Had the previous version, liked it except for the annoyance of batteries. This one is slightly nicer in feel and with internal rechargeable feature the battery issue is gone. Easy to pair with a lightning cable, charging is quick and lasts a good long time. Also it seems to work better than the old one on surfaces like a shiny white table. Using with a Retina MBP & El Capitan 10.11.3

Designed to look pretty ignoring function

Oct 25, 2017

I absolutely hate this mouse! the charging port is in an awkward spot and you can not use the mouse while charging. The scroll function is sluggish and unpredictable, I have it inadvertently decide to scroll or zoom while I'm working in Adobe software all the time and it's beyond frustrating and a real hinderance to getting work done. Absolute cheaply produced garbage!

Increases workflow on laptop

Sep 4, 2019

I bought this for doing design work with Qlab on my laptop. Its increased my workflow exponentially over the trackpad. It works great, feels good in the hand, and the touch gestures are super handy. The only con is the lighting port is on the bottom so you cant use the mouse and charge it at the same time. But the mouse will last forever on a single charge.

Awesome Mouse

May 15, 2017

The touch-scrolling is a great feature but sometimes requires you to hold the mouse a little awkwardly to fully utilize all the great touch gestures. The mouse is intuitive and can be mapped for different gestures. This is my favorite mouse at the moment but like I said, it can be a little awkward for some gestures (swiping pages forward and back mainly).

An excellent addition

Dec 17, 2017

I found the trackpad on my new MacBook Pro a bit clumsy to use. The Magic Mouse 2 was highly recommended be my Mac Users Group. It is a great size and fits nicely under my hand. The mouse mimics most f the track pad functions, is very responsive and significantly speeds up my work flow. I have since ordered one for my wife and another for my sister.

I love the Magic Mouse 2

May 14, 2017

I've been using the Magic Mouse 2 for about 3 weeks and love it. I've not had any issues, and I love that I can recharge it vs. needing AA batteries. The complaint some have logged about the charging access point being on the bottom of the mouse to me is way overblown. This is a great product and I plan to get another one to use with my other Mac.

Seems a Bit Fussy

Dec 12, 2018

I love the functionality of the Magic Mouse. It feels good, looks good and works very well when it isnt being fussy. I havent yet figured out why, but it occasionally loses its connection and refuses to do anything. Quickly plugging the charging cable in takes care of the issue, but that seems a bit ridiculous considering the cost of this mouse.
