The sound is fantastic. Great bass response, clear mids, crisp highs. These cans work great for my video and audio editing work, and are nice to use for music. Five stars for sound. While they do fit over my ears, the cups could be deeper. The edges of my ears touch the inner felt over the drivers, which is a bit disappointing. Four stars for the size.

These are fabulous, deep and bright sounding headphones. In my opinion, the best product at its price point, clear and full spectrum, and durable . The folding aspect and bag they come with make them ultimately poirtable as well..

These are amazing earphones, so good that I swear my audio track quality has improved just because of the clarity of the sound while I'm shooting. I now see why they have become legendary. I do have one gripe; the cord is WAY too long for my liking. It must be 12' when uncoiled. As I'm monitoring off the video camera, 2 feet would be ample. I wish the cord could be interchanged easily.

I have a home studio and need things a little quieter at night. The MDR-7506 are the only pair of headphones I've used. I love the sound quality and feel of the headphones on my ears. They are durable, reliable and will last you many years. Sure you can pay more for something else but there really is no need to. For under $, that sounds just perfect and so do the MDR's.

I love these field head phones. They are a great companion to any studio or camera and head phone combo. They provide accurate audio from what ever devise you are using. This is my second pair I have purchased for my second Canon XA10.

These phones are fantastic value. Transparent sound for music, clear precise bass, accurate sound repro. I use them for listening to music, movies and gaming. The cord is a little long for commuting and mobile listning but its great that its long for sitting around your desk, lots of movement. to thats a pro/con. But they are wonderful all around phones.

I am on my second pair of these Sony Headphones. Unfortunately my first pair literally fell apart. Then the cord malfunctioned after 9 months. Maybe I got a bad pair I don't know but the second pair sounds different(More Highs).I know that I paid only a mere $but I expected better from all the talk about these Headphones. They do keep the noise out very well and fit just right, but if you are clumsy like me, these are not the headphones for you.

When reading reviews on these headphones I was under the impression that they had exceptional sound quality for the price point and were possibly built to last because they had been recommended for so long, if I'm to be honest I don't see how something with such a high end souhd frequency could be so overwhelming could be considered good. i personally have chosen to use my Sennheiser 6XX by a long shot once again.

The headphones are great, comfortable, great sound quality, and great price, the bass isn't the strongest but they are more of an all around headphone for all types of music, gets a little warm if worn for a long time, but for the money I am very impressed with the headphones, sony does make a good product.

Very pleased with comfort and sound quality. I'm currently unable to listen to music through my home audio speakers as much as I normally do, so a new set of headphones were in order. Not disappointed in the least. These are excellent and blow away an older set I have. All music, from classical to classic rock, has been very enjoyable to listen to.

The MDR-706 Headphones are an indispensable standard in the field and the studio. I've owned probably 10 sets in my career without ever having a failure. Now keeping them from walking off on the set that's another story. Buy them, you won't be disappointed, they're a real work horse and sound great!

Though I'm not a audio guy, these headphones are the industry standard for monitoring audio for TV. Not too much bass -- you hear it as it should sound. And a reasonable price for the quality.

These are not for Audiophiles, if you are looking for those set of headphones look at the AKG K 702 Headphones. These should be used for monitoring of audio inputs for video recordings. Don't get me wrong, these are good headphones overall and I used them on flights just to avoid carrying two sets of headphones when I travel around. I cannot speak highly enough especially for the price.

These are my go to headphones. They are comfortable for as long as I keep them on. The frequency range they cover is well beyond what I can resolve accurately now as a seasoned veteran. I abuse them more than I should when I am in a hurry which is almost daily. They stand up to it and work flawlessly year after year. I depend o them.

...very comfortable and is great for a simple pair of monitor headphones. As I am not an audiophile but rather a sound engineer I prefer the best raw sound as opposed to the highest fidelity. These phones work great for giving you a raw sound without too much bass. A more accurate sound is what I work with, and these deliver.

This is my sencond 7506 and I just bought it as a backup. I use this headphone for video editing and encoding and have been using my firtst one 5 days a week for eight years now but it is sitll in good condition. Ear pad is somewhat vulnerable and you may need to replace it every year or two but if you think of sound quality, durability and price, there is nothing better than this one.

The headphones came in brand new condition. They fit comfortably, the ear pieces are a little flimsy though. The sound is great but i wish they were louder! It might be the device i'm using, my laptop, that i use them with. I was expecting a little more base and sound but overall i love them. It was definitely worth the money i spent.

It is hard to go wrong with these headphones. Everything that I need to listen to music, whether recorded or through my Vox AC115CH guitar amp, and at a very decent price. They are quite comfortable and light. The only gripe I have is that the connection cable is on the left side. My MacBook receptacle is on the right, so I have to drape the cord behind me, which is not optimal. Is it just me or isn't this just wrong?

These offer a really refined balance of highs and lows- perfect for audio mastering and field recording. They are also just great for music enjoyment of all kinds. I looked at headphones of 2-3 times the price and read nothing but praise for these-- I have to agree, for the money, I couldn't ask for more.

I work in the entertainment industry but, as I'm more visually discerning, I have no real appreciation for critical listening. On the advice of a local sound guru who described the MDR-7506 as his recommendation and the industry standard I purchased these cans for my father-in-law who also is very sonically-inclined. He loves them. Hope that helps.
