well constructed, made of metal, XLR plug is a good fit, a really good fit, plugs in and pulls out with no issues, Using this as a travel audio input for the new MacBook (Thunderbolt 3 usb - type b). Seamless, almost zero latency. The X2U is a perfect travel size, and really straight forward to use
