We have been using the Rode NTG microphones for the last few years and have finally upgraded to the MKH-416. I've heard great things about this microphone but it wasn't until we shot with it that I was able to fully appreciate the mic. It's beautiful!

Right now there are too many options that may create confusion but, likely B&H has the convenience of trying out the Seinheiser 416 and that alone took all confusion away. We regularly do voiceovers with a Neumann 103 and we've been happy with it but, when we paired up the 416 with an Avalon M-5 we were very impressed with the way it sounds plus, we save time with the little processing or not processing at all. Best of all, our clients are very happy with our new sound...

I've been in the production biz for a long time and relied far to much on a wireless lav and the on-board camera audio. I discovered the MKH and haven't looked back. It beats any lav and/or cheap shotgun mic. The sound is crisp and clear for VOs and perfect for the field, even at a distance from the talent. I also recommend a good blimp kit. I recently filmed some stand-ups in a windy situation and the result was perfect audio. I wish I had utilized the MKH much sooner in my career.

I frequently add voiceovers to my videos, and the shotgun mic I was using, just didn't sound good. The Sennheiser MKH416 has a great voice response, and makes my voiceovers sound crisp and clean. I was recommended this mic by a friend who is a sound recordist in the TV/movie industry.

I love this microphone. Shot an interview the other night using this with the Rycote Windshield kit. I had the microphone angled to the floor and there was a lot of drilling and construction going on in the background. The background noise was almost non-existent. I was very happy with its performance. So far, I have experienced no negative sides to this microphone.

Everytime I use this, I'm amazed at how good the audio sounds. You can sweeten it a bit if you need/want, but good night - right off the card it sounds so dang good. One of the best purchases I've ever made in life. Seriously.

This shotgun mike has been the standard of the Industry for doing location sound recording for film and video for decades. There is a reason: the sound is warm and clear. With proper care this mike will serve you for decades. It first came out as the 415 in the 70's, and was upgraded to the 416. Solid build!

I use this shotgun mike system on my Panasonic HPX 170 along with three rotating Sennheiser Wireless microphones. The 416 is a fabulous shotgun mike and I also use it in my studio for voice work on the documentary I shot in China on the building of San Francisco's new Bay Bridge. I highly recommend the 416 Shotgun Mic and this great package from B&H Photo.

I already had the ME67. I bought the 416 mic because I am looking for the most directional mic I can find to eliminate background noise. This mic is great, but to my ears no different than the ME67. The tonal quality was not exact, but similar to me as well. Definitely not $500 better. I've been involved in music and film for close to 20 years. I'm not saying I have the best ears and am an authority, but again, if it's between those two mics, I'd go with the ME67 and save $500.

Obviously a durable "on-location" dialog mic. But I'm a studio guy. Used it for years for voice-overs, recording acoustic guitars and other instruments. This, SM-57s & U87s are the 3 "must-haves" in any studio. I also do voiceovers myself and have the simplest set up: MKH416 into a UA 6176 (with upgraded tubes/valves). That's it. Perfectly perfect for that application!

This is a truly professional piece of gear. Great pickup pattern, frequency response and ease of handling. Well worth the money. I do wish the box it comes in was more substantial, the plastic one is cheap. I will probably replace it with a better one. I highly recommend this tool for your productions.

Flawless delivery of crisp sharp sound at an incredibly affordable price, this microphone surpasses any and all expectations I had. I was blown away the first time I used it and have been satisfied every time since. B & H delivered within 2 days with zero hassles and courteous service. Highly pleased with this purchase!

I ordered lots of gear from B&H, all the boxes were torn to shreds and the delivery driver taped them back up. All boxes also apNot one box but 3 boxes, delivered on different days all damaged and opened... The gear all works and seems undamaged, but its very odd that all boxes were torn up and had been opened and taped shut. Im concerned now that I got counterfeit gear. Ive ordered $25k in gear over two months from different places but wouldnt order from B&H again because of this.

Lives up to the hype for both boom and VO applications I've tried it on so far. For the latter it's much less sibilant compared to the LDC it's often compared to at similar price. Very happy I finally got one!

I use this mic for documentary production, and it's excellent as a short shortgun mic. The sound is a standard in the industry. The only challenge with any mic like this is using it indoors, it would be better with an omni, as it picks up a lot of background noise. At the same time, it all depends on the operator. Just had a 10 day shoot with it and am happy with the results.

I shoot a lot of corporate videos in office locations and most of our offices have white noise piped in. The Sennheiser mic is great at reducing the amount of that picked up in the recording. I get excellent quality audio!

The kit is great so far, but when I first tried to use it, the mic would not work. I opened the boom pole to find that the cable was disconnected and tangled to the top of the pole. So spent about a half hour untangling it and pulling it towards the bottom of the pole so I could connect the cable to the base. Now it works great. I would have returned the item but needed to use it and didn't want to wait another week for a new one.

The 416 is by far the best shotgun mic I've used. Indoor or outdoor, it's performs better than any other mic I've come across. Great sound, separation, and quality. The bundle also comes with some pretty crucial accessories that make your life easier! 100/10 would buy again.
