We love the Sennheiser wireless mics, sound good and have been pretty reliable and serviceable. We have been buying the ME 2 replacement microphones for over six years now. They used a metal spring lapel clip which lasted about as long as the mic wiring (roughly 12 months in daily TV reporting). Just received the new ME 2-II a few weeks ago. After a couple of uses, the plastic lapel clip breaks. The old replacement metal clips do not fit at all. Horrible quality on the clip, the mic itself is fine. I contacted Sennheiser, hopefully they will fix this soon. ... More

Mic is fine but the clip broke after 2 uses. I can't use the old ME 2 metal wire clip because I can't take the windscreen off of this mic. The other drawback is that it's now harder if I want to tape the mic inside clothing via the cloth stickies because of the windscreen head.

I love the new mic. The fixed windscreen is just one less thing to go missing but this change requires a different mic clip. Unfortunately the new clip is a cheap plastic one and not a metal one like the previous model has. My clip broke after a few weeks. Replacement clips are a special order item B&H: SE564565 and cost $12.99. The old metal clip costs less at $7.13. I don't care about the almost $6 difference but I do care the the clips break too easily and this isn't an easy replacement item.

I had to buy this to replace the lav mic that came with my Sennheiser G3 system. I have had that for at least 6-7 years now, works great but the mic had a lot of cable wear and finally broke due to so much usage. This new mic and cable seem a little more robust that what came with my system years ago. Sounds great, no issues, the price was right and it works great with my system since everything is made by Sennheiser.

If you are looking at this item, you are likely replacing a damaged ME2 mic. If you need to replace your Sennheiser lav mic, replace it with something other than this. It's inexpensive -- but you'll have to replace it 2x as fast as almost anything else. Why? The original ME2 had a removable windscreen. This one is glued on. People will yank off the glued windscreen because they are accustomed to being able to remove it, or want to reduce the profile of the mic.

I've paired this with my Rode Wireless Go microphone because the Rode Lav Go microphone has been out of stock for what seems like forever. This microphone is just as excellent with a bit more clarity in the low-end. My wife uses the Wireless go with the Rode Lav and I use mine with this Lav. They're each perfect for the tamber of our voices. Really happy with how easily concealed this microphone is too!

The mic itself is ok. I have used the old version for many years with great success. In some circumstances, I prefer to use the mic with invisiLav to help make the mic more discreet under clothing. Unfortunately, the new built-in windscreen makes using invisLav impossible. The mic sounds great, but the reduced flexibility in lav placement has made it impractical to use on some shoots.

Mic: what you'd expect. Excellent! The Clip: a head scratcher. It keeps falling off, breaking or getting lost. Replacements cost $13.00 a pop for a little plastic. Just ordered another. The metal clips on the older ME2 don't fit. The mic base is too big for them. Advice: order one back up clip which will come in handy on location shoots if you lose it or it breaks.

The screw collar lock is worth a bit more money for security that the mic won't pull out of the transmitter . The off brand doesn't have the screw lock (which wasn't clear in the picture or description) and I returned the one I bought so I could have the lock feature. Handle with care and it will last for years.

So I ordered the mic because the old on one our G3 series was starting to fray. When it came in the mic is noticeably larger and wider. Works great, plugs in great. The only disappointing part about it to me is that the clip it comes with is a plastic kind of clip and it already broke before I even had a chance to use it. I wish it was metal instead of the plastic.

Yes, it's a great mic. I use it with my G2s and my AVX systems. I love the built in windscreen .. it works! The one caution. The mic clip .. when attaching it, slide it up cable to engage with the mic head DO NOT press on it place from the side. The clip will eventually snap. Not a big deal to slide it up from the cable, just don't forget.

Mic clip is very loose and will most likely fall out when taking the mic in and out of your bag. Not sure why they redesigned it to be so loose. The original design was perfect. DO NOT BUY.

Great little mic from Sennheiser. Solid performance from this mic. Sounds a bit better than my previous and around 6 years old Sennheiser lav mic. Overall its a good mid tier option for your audio kit.

I use this with the Rode Wireless GO Compact Digital Wireless Microphone System and plug it directly into an EOS R. Sound comes out clean and needs minimal processing.

IF YOUR RUNNING AUDIO OVER A WIRELESS SYSTEM YOU CAN'T HAVE TO MANY OF THESE. THEY ARE GREAT MICS FOR STAND UPS AND INTERVIEWS AND THEY'RE PRETTY TOUGH AND CAN HANDLE ABUSE. BUT AS WE HAVE LEARNED WITH OVER 30 YEARS IN THE FIELD, ALWAYS HAVE A GOOD SUPPLY OF BACK UP LAVALIERS ON HAND. THESE ARE A GOOD CHOICE!

I used this mic for interviews on a Documentary. It worked flawlessly and gave me no issues. Other reviews mentioned a plastic clip but this had a sturdy metal one. So maybe they heard the community and resolved it with a metal one. At any rate this mic worked great for me!

I thought he response was not quite that of the ME2 but sounded good in post and I didn't kill the budget to fix the broken wire on my original Sennheiser.

These are the best-sounding lavs I've used and I've been using lavs for many decades. Just be aware that if you are outside in wind you will need to use a fuzzy windscreen, just like any other lav.

Good quality Lavalier Mic. Wish it came with some form of carrying case though.
