I use this primarily to listen to music on my desktop pc. Also, I occasionally use it as reference in sound enhancement in Audacity. For both purposes, the SMH-1000 is perfectly suited. I just bought these recently so I'm just getting used to them. They seem comfortable although I haven't worn them for extensive periods I really like the full spectrum of highs, mids and lows I'm hearing. The fold-up feature is nice, if you travel with them; I don't but, if I'm not going to use them for awhile, I will do so and store them in the bag that came with them. I can't comment on durability over the long haul but, so far, so good. ... More

I can't tell if my microphone isn't sound perfect or the headphones. Let's be honest. Nothing is perfect. But these are good headphones. I just leave 5 stars for when I'm absolutely blown away and don't have to wonder. But they are comfortable, give good audio quality, can fold up nicely (I like that the cable can be removed) and I like that the Left and Right sides are color coded as well as have the L and R. I also like that there are different cables that come with it. I'd recommend this if you want a good pair of studio headphones without breaking the bank. I can't compare them to many other headphones out there, but definitely WAYYYY better than monitoring with Airpods! That's for sure. ... More

I have three pairs of these, bought over the last seven years or so. I'm not an audiophile, so I don't appreciate the subtleties that they do. But to my ears, these are absolutely the best. I've had Sony MDR-V6 and MDR-7506 cans, and these appear to me to be just as good, if not better. I bought a pair for a friend of mine for Christmas about two or three years ago. He has a golden ear, and he says these are the best sounding cans he's ever heard (maybe he was just making me feel good!). Somewhere along the line I bought the extra deep sheepskin earcups, and the result is even better than before. Just a great product! ... More

I decided to buy these after seeing it on sale for half off. The design is very close to the Sony MDR V6, but the ear pads don't fit over my whole ears like the MDRs. The build feels premium. Out of the box the sound quality is reasonable. I didnt need to break them in. Its great for watching movies and listening to music. I even use it while sleeping. I can tell the sound quality difference when comparing it to my ATH-M50x and Sony MDR V6. The SMH-1000 doesn't sound as open, unless you turn up the volume all the way. For the price I got them for I can't complain. They are much better than any other mid-range brands. ... More

I use the Senal headphones for documentary film shooting and editing. They are comfortable and work great. They aren't 100% noise canceling headphones, but they do a good job. I actually don't want 100% just so I can know if someone is talking to me when I am not recording. The coiled cord is quite long and that was becoming annoying then when I later looked in the box I found that they come with a smaller non coiled cord. I haven't tried it out yet, but I will be sure to next time I am out shooting. I also tied the cord and that helps. ... More

The coil cable connection to the headphones is loose and causes dropouts. Poor design. Stay away from these!

The Senal SMH-1000 headphones are a great addition to my HDSLR sound kit. Things are Very clear in the mid to high tones! Windnoise & adlibs I notice now that before were drowned out by pronounced low-end in my previous headphones. There is still enough bass for heavy songs to enjoy on my phone. The build quality is professional & listening comfort is still great after the first hour! The gold cable connectors snap into place. The replaceable 3ft & 10ft coiled cables are a great feature not found on the Sony in this price range.

You were looking at Sony MDR-7506 headphones, right? These are basically them. These are so much like them that they cost the same and B&H has a combo kit that includes one of each. The principal difference is that the audio cable isn't hardwired, so you can change it. You will either like that the cable pulls out of the jack in the ear cups, or it will annoy you. The coiled cable is kind of heavy and if it gets caught on something, suddenly you can't hear anything. But that was a choice they made so you're not putting stress on the connection. ... More

these headphones are well-built, excellent sound quality, really great sound isolation from ambient noise. The detachable cords work perfect and I'm happy to have them. I've been listening to Prodigy's Fat of the Land album all day rediscovering it's awesomeness. My one complaint is that after wearing them for long periods (over an hour) they tend to make my ears sore and I need a break. perhaps getting some alternate earpads could remedy this since Senal does sell other options and there are 3rd party earpad covers too. Either way, hell of a deal at this price.

Well, all my life everyone said I would get a big head if I continued on the path I was on . . . guess they are right, because these fit my large frame terribly and are not expandable enough to make it work. OK, Seriously, if you are a bigger person and have a large hat size, these will not be the cans for you.

Great headset for the price, but.... after light use, within one year of purchase, the coil cable male jack, at the end that connects to the headset (this cable is male on both ends), started giving a bad contact. My headset sits at an office table connected to a PC, no kids use it, so in my humble view there is a design weakness in the connector. You can keep getting new connectors ($15 + s&h, 6/28/20) every time they fail or, if you haven't purchased the headset yet, consider getting something else. Sad to say all this because initially the product seems like a great value for the price. ... More

These phone are comfortable to wear, easy to listen to and most importantly don't really have a sound of their own. They don't give you a great amount of bass if it not in the music, but if there is bass it comes through nice tight and clean. They are a little heavy for long term use, so taking a few minutes to make sure there adjusted on your head for good balance before settling in is a good idea. You get two kinds of cords, adapters, and a caring pouch in the box. The quality of the materials is high. I would buy this product again - actually I already have. ... More

I had to find a replacement for my broken MDR-V6. Got these due to many reviews stating it as a best match to V6's instead of MDR-7506. So SMH-1000 won over MDR-7506. After i got them and listened of a couple of songs, i could not stand them anymore, so imbalanced on highs i felt dizzy! So i returned them and got MDR-7506. And what you know.. they are identical to V6! I have my favorite headphones again!

I like the build of these headphones. Better than the Sony MDR-7506, I feel like their is very little noise cancellation. Also I love the fact that you can remove the cable and use the coil ups or the thick straight one. Sound quality is great as well.

I think these are quite decent given the special price they were on for. However, if you are looking for tonal accuracy, flat frequency response, these are not the model for you. Too much emphasis on the very high end and bottom end. You will need to invest a fair bit more money, even than their regular price. On the other hand, if you only need something that produces good volume and reasonably decent audio with good physical quality, these will work. I purchased this model for use by DJs at a radio station.

I bought them for my daughter who is studying film and she needed some headphones that reproduced accurately for sound editing. We chose this because they were recommended by of one of the employees in the showroom. My daughter loves them and says they are a huge improvement over what she was using before. You probably can get better ones at a different price point but in this price this pair sounded very good and didn't exaggerate any of the frequency ranges. Another plus was getting the leather earpads for free.

Great set of cans. I consider the Sony MDR-7506 the 'gold standard' for phones, and was a little skeptical this would live up. Honestly? As good if not superior! The new 'standard' for me. Very well constructed, comfortable, and most important, they sound GREAT (and by great I mean 'clean' so suitable for editing dialogue).

These headphones sound great, and very comfortable to wear for hours. The design and sound resemble those of Sony MDR-7506, but these come with 2 detachable cables, which is a huge plus. However, the straight cable comes a bit too short.

This product is useful on field or in studio, depends on where you're work takes you. These headphones are decently lightweight and durable, it also collapses into itself which is a plus. I have taken these into a studio environment and I won't say they are 100% true, and for a professional these are minor, but they have a good range and and for the price I would recommend them.
