I don't have many other cans to compare these to, but the headphones are great. As a video editor, I work in less than ideal environment. These cans not only help block background noise, the sound quality is fantastic. I was able to hear things in my audio mix I was unable to hear with other phones. I recommend for anyone in industry that needs a good pair. These studio monitoring phones also make great field headphones for sound recording.

We use the SMH-1000 Senal Headphones in field production. I have used another famous brand similarly priced headphones for years. The Senal SMH 1000 was on a special sale on B & H. I watched the video demo and was impressed by the attention to fidelity detail and the the ability to change the chord from the 2 provided. (1 short and straight for personal use and the other longer and coiled for more mobility from the sound source) While we still have a pair of the more famous brand headphones, I have put the Senal in our audio kit as our primary go to headphones. 1. I really like the audio response 2. I like the detachable cable I would recommend this product ... More

Very nice headphones. Bright sound, excellent highs, good-to-excellent lows. Very comfortable. I had a Sennheiser pair before for the same price. I chose these because of the detachable cable. I'm sick of losing headphones to bad cables. I'm a little frustrated that the headphone end of the cable is smaller than 1/8 so I can't use just any cable, but it's mainly a just in case for if the plugs get damaged. I like the interchangeable ear pads too. You won't be disappointed.

Great pair of headphones for field video production monitoring. These are comparable to the Sony MDR-7506 Headphones. I have a hard time finding any difference in quality between the two and I've been using the Sony ones for quite a while now. One thing that really sets this apart is that it comes with two interchangeable cables. One cable is a 3ft straight cable(perfect for monitoring handheld camera work), but also included in the box is a 10ft coiled cable. My only complaint is that this pair of Senal headphones does not come with a carry pouch and the Sony one does.. but if you really want a pouch you can buy it separately here's the time number.. #SESMHPOUCH Overall, Great sound, foldable, quality build, cheaper then the sony model hands down.. Super solid, well balanced. The sound on these is quite accurate, little or no coloration. Great for field recording and mixing. Standard cable is a little short but the flexible cable is fantastic. For the money can't go wrong. Also quite comfortable... have worn for many hours mixing with no fatigue.

I use this mostly for mastering and recording audio to video. I do weekly YouTube filmmaking how-to episodes and there are times when I can't always sit down to map out the perfect way to the get the right sound. In those instances, I just plug these wonderful headphones into my Zoom H4n handy recorder to just make sure the levels are right and I can honestly say that no other headphones sound even remotely close to this one. I have not used many high-end headphones, but of the ones that I have used these are pristine. Crystal clear sound (clearer than real life to be honest), comfy fit, very mobile, compact... everything you could want in a pair of field monitoring headphones! ... More

These headphones fold nicely, have a secure attachment for the removable cords, and are built well. The earcups are probably on the smaller side but cradle my ears perfectly and are appropriately soft. I am probably a headphone purist -- someone very sensitive to sound quality, especially when so close to my ears. I find that these rather inexpensive headphones sound very neutral and are good portable headphones.

These head phones have held up for about four months now, and I haven't had any major issues. They're pretty comfortable and feel like decent quality. I tested their frequency response as soon as I got them and they seem pretty flat, but they're also just a little thin or tinny which is really the only downside so far. It's not at all horrible and they definitely get the job done, and this isn't uncommon for monitoring headphones in this price range, but worth noting all the same. Some reviews have mentioned issues with the coiled cable giving out after several months. I haven't had any such issues, and I suspect that this is user error-the coiled cable needs to be inserted and TWISTED into the headphones until locked into place for a good connection. ... More

First thing for me is comfort, which these definitely are. Second thing is durability, especially where the cable meets the phone. The cable on this detaches from the phone and that's just perfect, because when I step on the cable while wearing the headphones, the cable will just pull out instead of going bad because I yanked it instead. What's not great, but not terrible, are the mounts for the phones. I don't like these fold-up jobs, which are always plastic and will break--not if but when. I hope not too soon, but these are hardly my first pair of headphones. Wish they'd make 'em all metal, like the headband on these. They sound great and the two types of cables are a nice bonus. I also got an extra cable. ... More

These headphones produce great sound. If you're getting them for casual listening, don't expect them to be exceptionally bass-heavy like Beats or Skull Candy. I prefer these because they are clearly superior in quality and the sounds sound much more natural. They fold up really nicely and mine came with a storage bag that is perfect for carrying them around without worrying about them getting damaged, but they feel sturdy enough to be able to put in a bag with other gear without problems. I use these for monitoring my Tascam DR-40 portable audio recorder while in the field and they work great. ... More

We produce a talevision cooking showw weekly and during the production unwanted of sound clutter bacame a problem, particularly when inwanted sound could not be edited out. This headphone has picted up unwanted lutter in real time so that adjusmnts could be made at the point of recording. The sound quality and the capacity to indentify unwanted clutter is time saving, cost containment against reshooting after the fact is fantastic. This is an invaluable piece of equipment.

I use this for my home recordings. I am no audio expert so can't offer a pro analysis of the sound but I bought these to replace my sony mdr 7506 which a friend sat on. The sound quality seems nice and flat (which is what you want in a studio situation), it is relatively comfortable, and less expensive than the Sony. Most impressive are the extras thrown in ie two cords, and especially a lovely adaptor that allows me to use it with my Scarlett (phone plug) and as a play back headphone with my mac pro (Mini). These little extras make a big difference and says something about the generosity of a company that in these days makes most of them give you the bare minimum. Bravo Senal, long may you live! ... Have used these in the studio and out in the field for over a year... they handle both types of work environments nicely. Durable... and decent sound quality for the price. The only negative is how they fold up... and unfold... a real nuisance even after you get use to using them. Other than that... they are a solid workhorse of a set of headphones.

I purchased these headphones mostly for audio monitoring while recording a podcast. They are great for that. However, these headphones are even better for music! My setup is Fiio Q1 Mark II (I have it connected via USB to my Moto G5 Plus phone) portable headphone amp, but Im sure they are easy enough to power through a regular 3.5mm output directly. As someone said here, I can hear elements of music that I havent heard before. I particularly like the crisp highs on these. They get a bit tiring after about 60-90 minutes of listening (the actual fit and music wise) but that album-worth length is worth it! They are very closed and leak very little sound, which is helpful if you have a small baby sleeping close by :-) Great purchase! ... More

I decided to buy these after seeing it on sale for half off. The design is very close to the Sony MDR V6, but the ear pads don't fit over my whole ears like the MDRs. The build feels premium. Out of the box the sound quality is reasonable. I didnt need to break them in. Its great for watching movies and listening to music. I even use it while sleeping. I can tell the sound quality difference when comparing it to my ATH-M50x and Sony MDR V6. The SMH-1000 doesn't sound as open, unless you turn up the volume all the way. For the price I got them for I can't complain. They are much better than any other mid-range brands. ... More

These are essentially copies of the Sony MDR-V6 headphone that I first bought in the 70s. They were (and are) popular among the audio engineers that mixed many of the more popular rock albums of the rock era. I have a particular affinity for them. The SMH-1000 is even better because of the cord set up. It comes with a long cord and a short cord, both locking.. The original Sony cord is very long and, although perfect in some situations, can really be in the way at times. I used to cut the cord and use extensions. The Senai phones do away with that problem. Kudos. ... More

I own a recording studio and recently got into DSLR video. I was using my 7506's and hatted dealing with the coiled cable. It got caught in everything. So i took a chance with this brand because I read good things, and I am totaly happy. I picked up the sheepskin earpads as well, and they are way more comfotable than my 7506's nd I think they sound pretty much the same, maybe a tad better. Also the little wire on the side does not get caught. Well worth it!

I can't tell if my microphone isn't sound perfect or the headphones. Let's be honest. Nothing is perfect. But these are good headphones. I just leave 5 stars for when I'm absolutely blown away and don't have to wonder. But they are comfortable, give good audio quality, can fold up nicely (I like that the cable can be removed) and I like that the Left and Right sides are color coded as well as have the L and R. I also like that there are different cables that come with it. I'd recommend this if you want a good pair of studio headphones without breaking the bank. I can't compare them to many other headphones out there, but definitely WAYYYY better than monitoring with Airpods! That's for sure. ... More

I use the Senal headphones for documentary film shooting and editing. They are comfortable and work great. They aren't 100% noise canceling headphones, but they do a good job. I actually don't want 100% just so I can know if someone is talking to me when I am not recording. The coiled cord is quite long and that was becoming annoying then when I later looked in the box I found that they come with a smaller non coiled cord. I haven't tried it out yet, but I will be sure to next time I am out shooting. I also tied the cord and that helps. ... More

I purchased these Headphones as an upgrade to my $ Sony pair that I acquired a few years ago. I needed to be able to monitor my audio levels more consistently and cleanly and that is exactly what these allowed me to do. Very affordable and very well designed. The detachable cable is definitely the best part and it really comes in handy when you are on a shoot or on set, and you are constantly stepping out from behind the camera between takes. Instead of having to take off your headphones and find a safe place to set them down each time, you can simply detach the cable. They are also very easy to store in a camera bag or backpack because the fold up so nicely. Great product. ... More
