Starting to do video recording with my DSLR's and hated the sound quality of the in camera mics..Looked for an inexpensive replacement and saw a lot of good recommendations for this mic. Works SO much better than the camera's mic..Don't expect Dolby surround abilities but a definite improvement

I'm getting a ton of white noise from the mic. It pics up everything while I use it on my DSLR and after editing the sound is great. If you have the money, get a Rode mic pro. If you need proof of concept to show yourself/others you can make a good video or movie - this is your mic. :) -John

Huge difference from the internal camera microphone! I have a Sony a7R ii and this microphone makes all the difference in picking up sound. Love the size of this mic too as it isn't too distracting. Would definitely recommend!

Mic is as advertised. I use on my Cannon T3i, it is small and lightweight. It's also great with filtering out the wind noise, as I live by the beach. I leave it on when I'm out shooting and when I need to take some video I'm ready to go.

Overall, pretty good. Great build quality. Kinda noisy on your videos with some background sound, which can be fixed in post. No battery needed, makes it great for travel! And it comes with a dead cat! I'd give it 9/10 for a mic. Great travel mic.

I have only used the Mic once so far, but it definitely improved the sound quality significantly. It's light-weight and easy to transport, and can even dangle from the phone or camera carefully.

I have a few Rode mics, good for any personal stuff or vlogging. Wouldn't use it too much for professional jobs unless you're trying to pack really light.

I bought this to use with my Olympus E-M1 based on price and size. It meets both needs and works very well. I haven't had a chance to test the windshield yet, but the sound quality indoors is fine.
