The Rode came by recommendation from a videographer and I am so glad I purchased it. I mount the camera on my Canon 5D MKII currently and it provides great audio - right from where you want it.

I have had this mic for only about three weeks now but I could not be happier. It seems to be quality built and the performance is great. I will probably buy another in the future.

I was filming on my phone but the compression would start in a loud noise. I film a lot of loud things. This mic helps me get great sound with my camera. I love it.

I bought this mic for shooting DSLR, it is practical and good quality, the only incoviniente is a 9v battery, but I think the AA batteries practices.

If your DSLR has a mic input port, this is a must have! The sound quality is far superior to the omnidirectional mics built into the camera body.

From right out of the box, this unit plugged directly into my Canon Rebel X3i and worked like a charm. Takes a 9V battery, which you can rob from any smoke detector in an emergency :)

Got this for my Nikon D3s. Very well made, light weight and very high quality recordings with low distortion.

There is too much fuzz noise. Unusable in a quiet room for silent interviews. Surprised at all these high reviews.

The mic works as specified so I gave it 4 stars. I didn't give it 5 because the on/off switch is a little sloppy in build. No big deal. Bought it, put it on my Canon 7D, and used it. Recommended.

For what I paid for it I think it works fine. Bottom line is good audio is expensive - and this is a cheaper, but still functional, product. I think there's a little too much noise.
