I thought this would be much better quality. I use it on a Nikon D850. Wether I Video inside or out, I still have to spend time in Adobe Audition. I bought this to replace the little Nikon mic. But it is about the same.
It's like having a BBC on top of your camera!

I love the mic. I upgraded from a previous Rode VideoMic, and the audio quality and shock absorbing mound are great on this mic. I love the idea of a high capacity rechargeable battery, and this battery certainly lasted a LONG time. The problem is, once the battery died, it would not recharge, so I got only one use of it, and a new battery is $50. Frustrating

I have this mounted on my A7III for run and gun filming - and if holding the camera close to my body - it constantly picks up on my breathing if I take a deep breath or exhale. My Audio Technica on my C100 doesn't have the same issue. Otherwise the sound is OK.

Spring for this mic, it's totally worth it! I paid $299, and I would have paid $499! Wonderful audio, yet easy to use. Plug and play! A necessity for any video camera!

I previously had the first generation VideoMic Pro, but after having it for 5 years, I was due for an upgrade. The VMP+ produces clearer audio than its predecessors, and the auto-on feature is something everything should have. Most of my recording is run and gun style, and not having to turn on the microphone separately from my camera helps me get the shot.

Great audio quality and great features! I love the ability to record 2 audio tracks, one with normal gain and one with higher gain, so I can pick and choose which one to use during editing later. Works perfectly with my Sony A6500, including the feature to auto turn-on/off with my camera.

Bought this to record comments made by guests before an audience seated on a beach without a sound system. Pick-up was excellent! However, I do agree with other reviews that the cable attachment point needs to be relocated to allow for the use of the viewfinder.

The Nikon Z6 internal mic is just awful. This mic is perfect for getting great audio directly into the camera. The rechargeable battery and option to use AA's in a pinch make this mic so versatile for all run and gun video needs.

I can run and gun, Boom and stand. Right-on Rode. I have recorded almost two hours of video with a single charge and still going. And even if I lose charge a couple AA and we are back in the saddle again. Very nice.

I was looking review on VideoMic Pro and compare to VideoMic Pro+ and selected based on complain VideoMic Pro has fixed connection. With VideoMic Pro+, My forehead hit mic when I try to see using viewfinder. I think I would prefer VideoMic Pro so I can view using view finder.

I use this mic for my vlogs at Disney and for any clients videos I have. I LOVE IT! It sounds great. I watched tons of reviews on lesser priced, like mics but found that despite the price, this one was really the best and I am so glad I went with it! Sounds great and no problems whatsoever!

I'm very pleased with this microphone. Don't know what I can say that hasn't been repeated many times already. I especially appreciate the 20db boost setting and the fact that the mic turns on and off with the camera's on/off switch.

My lavalier sounded like crud with the Canon 5D IV, but this external mic solved my audio issues. Nice, full sound.
