I have a Canon Vixia HF G40 which I ordered this microphone for. I couldn't get the first one to work at all. All buzz and clicking. After going online with Rode and working with them they suggested I return it which I did and got another one. I could get sound with the second one but it had a constant repeating clicking noise I could not get rid of. I returned this on too and spoke with technical support at B&H and they suggested the Azden SMX-30 which worked right away out of the box. Not sure if was a compatibility issue with the Canon or the microphone but it didn't work for me. ... More

This is a pretty good mic for the price. However I have had issues with it not connecting to camera or external Atomos recorder. The included instruction manual is pretty useless.
