Use this for my Canon 5D MKII and DR-40. Great sound and solid build, but the lack of an on/off switch bugs me.

I mainly use this mic for boom recording during film shoots. It gets the job done and doesn't chew through batteries like some of my other mics, plus it can still run on phantom if needed.

i bought this mic, with a recorder that only worked 30% of the time. Switched to a 3.5mm mic recorder. If I used xlr, i'd likely get this rode mic.

I've only had this thing a little while and I can't figure out why yet, but this thing absolutely eats batteries. The sound quality is great but we went through 16 batteries in 2 hours of videos using this with an H4N.
