I have just used it on one shoot but I was impressed at the quality of the sound and how well it could isolate a subject's speech withing a group of people. specially for the price

I needed an upgrade in sound quality and wondered what a phantom mic would do. For under $300, the Rode gave me a very noticeable improvement in sound over the standard camera mic.

This is a very awesome mic. It has the same quality of the NTG-2. I like it as it is smaller in size which makes it easier to travel with.

I bought this Microphone to mount on my DVX-100B. So far the sound quality and light weight of the Microphone are a perfect addition to my video package. Very happy with my purchase and B&H.

I primarily use the NTG-1 as a camera mounted shotgun micrphone for documentary shoots. It picks up very clear natural sounds and can pick up good, clean audio for interviews even from the camera mounted position. This is a great deal for the very cheap price.

Whatever sound you are gathering, make sure this mic is close to the source. This probably goes without saying, but get close and point it directly at the source. This is a directional mic, so you'll want to keep it pointed toward the source. Good sound quality. Crisp and clear.

It came highly recommended. I am getting a high hissing when using it, but I am also a novice, so I may be missing something obvious. Otherwise, superb sound.

I got this mic to go with a Sony NX3 camera. The mic is fine and captures a very fine sound. However the mic barrel is too small to fit securely in the NX3 holder. Wrapping it helps.

Great mic, very sensitive, can pick up sounds that I cannot hear. Maybe a little too sensitive....still not sure.
