This would have been a great review if I'd written it yesterday, I've had the mic for just over two weeks, worked great for vocals, that is until today. I unplugged the mic to move it, upon plugging it back in to record tracks, it stopped working. No signal - tried a couple of known good cables, everything, no signal. I noticed that one of the 3 connecting pins on the bottom has pulled out about an eigth of an inch. I've contacted Rode and they told me to try to return it to B&H, I'm now waiting for a reply from B&H. It was great while it worked, I'm willing to try another but be warned, the connector may be the weak link on this mic, other than that, for the price I doubt you can do better where sound is concerend. ... The nt1a has lived up to everything it's represented to be. I use it for voice over recording and it's bveen awesome. The accessories that come with it were perfect. I have very basic recording and editing skills but you can't tell by the final porduct. It's quiet, very full sounding and handles input levels you wouldn't believe. In this price range, Buy It!

Shipping was a bit sketch but that was Fed Ex, B&H kept me informed of delays- appreciated. The NT1A recording kit is fab, took me a bit to figure out the mic stand situation but I did. Overall the kit is a major improvement in sound and B&H was professional and consistent in description and follow through.

If you are into recording vocals this is the mic for you. I own a couple of other mics as the AKG C414 XLS and the Neumann TML 103 and for voiceovers or lead vocals recording the NT1A does the job as good for a third of the price. I did replace the pop filter that came with the shock mount for a WindTech Popgard.

Sweet spot just above where one would think it is. It _is_ a brighter microphone. I have it connected to a small mixer which has phantom power capabilities and feather up the lows in the channel. Once the feathering is done, the sound coming from it is absolutely incredible. Great for Voice Over recording.

To be real honest here, when fired this puppy up I could not believe what I was hearing. I expected it to be good, that said, Not anywhere near as good as it is. I really dont think I have ever heard a mic sound this good on vocals. Just amazing. For the money, you will not beat this deal. Thanks Keith

I know nothing about microphones (I'm a drummer). This mic has made my voice overs very clean and real. B&H has been very helpful and so is the Rode website. I have been receiving so many compliments and questions on what I did to make the voice overs better. All I can say is purchase the Rode NT1-A from B&H you won't be disappointed!

I use this microphone for corporate video narrations and it has worked great so far. I can really tell that there is a positive difference in audio quality since I started using this microphone. It is easy to set up, and I love that it comes in a kit so I don't have to worry about buying everything separately. The price was good compared to the other microphones I considered. Overall, I'm very happy with this product.

Great mic, perfect for home studios!

Microphone picks up a really nice sound. I use it for recording voice overs and some bad attempts at singing. It's a really good pack to pick up for a small home studio. If you do a TON of recording, I'd suggest getting a more versatile stand (instead of the table stand this comes with). But for people who only do the occasional sound work, it's a good deal!

I love this condensor mic! It is an awesome vocal mic for studio recording. I would recommend it to anyone. I have a bunch of Shure mics and also a Blue Baby Bottle, but this one is by far the best. Also, B&H shipping got the mic to me in 2 days! And I didn't pay shipping! Great company. I would definitely buy from them again.

I use this mic for small venue, holistic audio capture (acoustic set, minimal mics recordings) and it pics up everything very clearly: voices, acoustics, and percussions. The only downfall for how I use it is it picks up the percussions (jimbay) a little too well if it's too close.

Great sounding microphone paired with the Focusrite Scarlett 2i4. Sounded even better when I built a mobile isolation box for it (look this up on YouTube) and did voice recordings. I will be using this microphone for years.

Still the Best and quietest for under $300. I'm very impressed with mine.

I highly recommend this package! It shipped quickly, everything was in great shape, and it's really easy to use. The NT1-A and the Presonus interface took my home studio from mediocre to professional. The sound quality is excellent. It's bright, but not tinny or treble-heavy. I like to think of it as a brassy warmth. The only thing that I wasn't thrilled with was the headphones, but everything else was a great buy. 10/10 would recommend!

when asking for details about where the mic was stored and what it was used for ( unfortunately after it broke ) I did not receive a response and was just told to contact RODE. I had barely used the mic over the past 8 months and by month 8 the mic was temperamental-- only working on certain days. At this time, it is likely officially broken and it is not the preamp or xlr cabe that is the problem. Just buy a new mic

Five stars when compared to other mics in the price range, which for me is the used going price, under $200. I think it's a bit unfair to put it up against a CMV-563 or U-47. But... When used properly (with a pop filter) and quality mic pre, this mic shines. On literally everything. The difference between this and a higher end mic, especially on male vocals, is minimal. For dynamic female vocals it's great, but it's pretty sensitive, so throw a touch of compression on it.

My tests of this setup have all been very good. I like the protector cage and the pop screen. I'd love the screen to have a little more bend because I like to use my mics with close proximity. The XLR cable is a nice extra that not all systems provide. Be sure you can feed it 48+ from your mixer or portable recorder. I watched the online video and learned about front, back or side voice positions.

Wrote in a previous review that this pack comes with a table stand, which it DOES NOT. My bad. I think this guy just comes with the microphone shock mount and pop filter, both of which work perfectly well!

I was recommended this mic by my producer friend, who would always tell me the one I was using for vocals was okay but sounded unprofessional, even after setting up acoustic foam in my recording space. This mic has made a huge difference in the quality of my music, I think it's worth the price and definitely gives you your money's worth.
