I've used TLM 103s in the studio for years producing radio spots and since retiring, I decided to purchase a pair for recording classical music. Clean and pure - what else can I say, especially for the price. I had a couple TLM 102s but didn't like the low mid bump or its high end. For voice-over work (in particular), this is my go-to mic.

This is obviously a good vocal mic as it is highly regarded and a modern classic. However, it's not a one size fits all as most all mics are not. This is not overall bright as others have mentioned. With eq you can give it a more modern sound, but if you want something bright with a nice top end from the start you may need to look elsewhere. Overall a good mic though for the price.

5 years and still sounds as good as the day I bought it. Demo'd a bunch of mics in the BH store in manhattan, and this one sounded the best w/ my voice. I like how it sounded more neutral than the other mics, and neumann is a good brand with good build quality. I still get excited to use it all these years later, you can't put a price on that.

I bought this along w some ribbon mics, and I was pleased with how they packaged it and communicated during its shipping. The mic is awesome, I was looking for the poorer mans u87 and its doing the d*mn thing

As always, the value of the instrument is partially dependent upon the intended use. Our studio sticks to its Neumann U87 for vocals. This mic was to help mic amps and a Leslie speaker. It happens to be a good vocal mic, but not up to the task if you can afford the U87. For the money, this mic is unsurpassed.

This Mic is a must have in any pro studio.I use it strictly on vocals. Very clear sound. Bit too harsh depending on talent's voice color. Also have in hand an AKG 414XLS. If you have both you ready to go !!

I went from a Rode nt2 to this and it’s amazing how much of a difference it made. So crisp and clear!

As a voice over artist, I have used this amazing microphone. The new large diaphragm parallels the 87 series and offers an amazing depth of range. Whether close up, or at a distance, the TLM 103 is superior to nearly every other mic in this price range. Love it.

This mic is a bit larger than the TLM 102. The lSSM-NMN Suspension Shockmount is a bit obtrusive if you are reading a script, so I use a Rycote. With that shock mount, it is a nicely compact setup for voiceover. Requires very little or no EQ. Great mic in the $1K price range.

The TLM-103 was my "go-to" mic for years in the studio where I worked. It performed equally well on vocals, acoustic guitar, horns, and anything else I could throw at it. If I could only own one mic, it would be the TLM-103

CRISP CLEAR CLEAN. VOCALS CUT THROUGH MIX. A LITTLE COSTLY BUT WORTH IT. ONLY BAD THING IT'S SO HOT NEED DOUBLE POP FILTERS IF SINGING CLOSE

It's more clear than my current NTG-3 mic. But that mic served me well for years. I'd say that the mics are good for different applications. I mainly do voice over, so I wanted a good mic for the booth.

Great Mic! Love these on vocals, as drum overheads, stereo micing a piano, or even picking up acoustic guitars! No studio should be without a set. The Beatles used them for a reason!

FET ELECTRONICS AND GIANT DIAPHRAGM MAKE THE 103 A GREAT VOCAL / VOICE OVER / RAP HIP HOP GO TO MIC. TONS OF GAIN AND NO HEADROOM ISSUES AT ALL. NICE PRICE FOR WHAT IS IN THIS MIC.

My transaction went better than well, I wish the shock mount cleaner but the pictures showed this wasn't the case, i knew what I was buying. The Seller was very accommodating and polite I would absolutely buy from him again .

I have 4 now, they are great on almost anything you put them on. I have a lot more expensive mics made by Neumann but these are the go to in the studio 80% of the time. I would suggest getting the shock mount with them.
