Fantastic microphones for cymbals

These microphones really improved the overall sound of my drum kit during recording sessions. I use them as overhead microphones - they have a good response for higher frequency sounds and are perfect to capture the ride and crash cymbals. No hum, buzz or any of that kind of nonsense from cheaper constructed cymbal mics for a REALLY great price. Mine came with wind guards (which aren't pictured in the online photograph) and the case is rather nice. Great mics... I'm glad I got these!

I'm using these for drum overheads, and so far so good! I'm more a drummer than sound guy, so my experience is limited. However, I'm impressed with these mics...especially at $ for a pair! I've got my kit mic'd up with '57's on the toms and snare, a beta-52 on the kick, and these CYM-88's overhead. Before adding any effects to my last recording, I muted '57 tracks while listening and was very impressed at what these mics picked up. Once I added dynamic effects, I was able to dial right in on the cymbals and everything blended well. I'm very happy with my purchase so far. ... More

I use this microphone recording and live performances on our overhead cymbals. Great mic. High end response is pretty tight and I like the lightweight pencil design. I would recommend this product.

Great overheads! Quite an upgrade for me as i was using dynamic mics for my overheads. What a difference! I am very satisfied with the performace of thes mics, and am extra satisfied with the money i saved buying them thru BH!!!!!!!! I save SO much money thru this site!!!!
