I have to say that the Shure Drum Mics are about the best that you can get. You get a great sound and are perfect for the studio or the road!! The SM57 Mics provide a very crisp sound that will cut any drum through any type of mix. They are very versatile and can be used for snares, toms, overheads and even vocal mics. They also are relatively light so you won't have to worry about your overhead stands falling over. The Beta 52 Mic is the cream of the crop, recognized through out all of the music industry. It gives you so much head room with the amount of SPL's it can handle, up to 130 dB!! Turn up the Beta 52 and it still is has a ton of punch without feedback! The only downfall is the A56D drum-mounts. They sometimes can be hard to position well on the drums since they are not flexible. They do however hold up very well to the abuse they take because of their sturdy solid design. Overall for the price of this package you will defiantly get your monies worth and much more!! ... More

These mics are top of the line! The beta bass drum mic is perfect! I wish they made more high end mic packages... It's a lot of money but you won't be disappointed!

I love this kit. I can't believe how much quality for the price. No doubt an audio guru could find something they don't like about how these sound, there is just no way a $300 mic kit can match the quality of a $3,000 mic kit. But all I hear is an incredibly clean signal, excellent punch on the low end, crisp high end, and details of the sound that will make you a better drum tuner (because these pick up all the nuances in your sound) . The only downside, but not enough to even warrant taking off a star, are that the mic clips are probably not gonna be good for the long haul. They are a little flimsy in how they connect, and the unused portion of the mounting area (above where I set the mic) is very tall with a lot of wasted space. I would love this even more if the clips were redesigned to not be so tall over the drum. But again, this is just a niggling thing and not really an issue. I would buy this kit again, no doubt about it. ... More

The jury is still out. But that is because I am a total novice/beginner. The mics all work, the kit was a return, but the original owner did not even open the box. Without any editing, the drums sound good as recorded.

The 52 sounds great in most kick drums. In my little theater I usually just use a kick and snare with a pair of overheads. The PGA56 makes a great horn mic. It's like having a 421. I'm not a fan of the drum mounts and the threaded adapters. Don't lose that little thing. The PGA57 nice.

These mics are great for recording. I havnt used them live yet but im sure that it would work out. And for recording, all u have to use on the drums are the 2 tom mics, the kick and the snare and it will sound great. Because of that, you can use the other 2 mics for other intruments such as acoustics,guitar/bass amps, piano, and vocals. It has a great price. I had some shure mics that did not do as good as these. CAD all the way! Buy it. ... More

these mics are a great buy like the title says. The only problem i have with them is the clips for the condensers are actually a little shallow when they go on the mic stands so make sure you have some adjustment rings for your stands. overall these mics are absolutely great. The bass drum mic i use on a floor tom and it really pics up the low end amazingly well. the tom mics and the snare mic (which i use on a high tom) all have a great sound to them i really think this set is excellent. ... How you use the productI have a small studio - nothing too fancy. I have recorded a good amount of bands and musicians over the last 15 years though. These were recommended to me by a friend with a degree and background in audio engineering as the best bang for my buck. Now, these are now my primary drum mics. I was incredibly skeptical and nervous over what the kit would sound like but as I said, they are now my primary mics. I use all of the mics in the set but the kick mic. This is not because the mic is bad, I just have one I like better. The mic set is comparable sound-wise to Shure's PG series. In fact, it's the PG52 that I use on my kicks. Things that are great about itConsistent sound - Very little EQ needed. I would go as far as saying if you add EQ you are trying to change the sound of your drum kit, not the recording. In my experience what goes in these things, comes out.Price the next comparable sounding mic kit To noticeably improve quality, you're looking at spending around 800 dollars.Durability Seems like they're built really well. I haven't had any troubles. In this price range, that means a lot. Things that aren't so great about itYou get made fun of when you tell your friends your mic kit is a Pyle. Other than that - nothing really. This is one of my more satisfying purchases. ... More

This mike set is not the greatest set of mics if you thinking hey man i only buy pro gear, but if your looking for a full drum mic set that is ready to go and don't want to spent the Pro gear price, this will do the trick.I love mine. bottom line if you want better quality you going to spend at least $ per mic, and to be honest most likely more then $ per mic.You can not beat this value. Worth every penny. ... More
