Now MXL does not have a good reputation when it comes to mics, but this mic just blew me away! After hooking it up to the Blue Icicle, it sounded mellow and very like the MXL 990. Then I put it on the Behringer Xenyx 802 and it came to life in a second. It has a warm feeling to it with what ever you record. I've never had a single problem when it came to recording with it. It always gave me crisp and clear recordings. The only downside is that you will be able to hear people from the other side the wall very clearly. Your best bet would to isolate it with a box or even put it in a closet. ... More

Just make sure you have a +48V because the mic requires it to work , i did not read that when i bought it but luckily i had it on my interface. I can really say how durable this product is because since i got it i left it right on its mic stand and since them i have not moved it. That was last YEARS BF 2015 for the same price. I haven't experiment with other mics other than a Sure beta 58 and a regular 58... But this guy is just awesome... it picks up everything... i use pod farm and just add the compressor and maybe some Rev. and it rocks... if you are looking for something just to do your on music at home to me, there is no better one.... and let's not start with acoustic guitars , wow, just awesome... I do not know why would you pay more for other condenser mic when this is the s # ! t.... Again Just make sure you have a +48V because the mic requires it to work , i did not read that when i bought it but luckily i had it on my interface ... More

As a small HOME Pro Tools studio owner , I have gone back to the V250 over and over again.Very consistent and although not considered a high end mic, it delivers excellent consistent performance with each session. Key word, consistent. I have several low to medium priced LD and SD mics but this one gets the call more often for vocals and AC guitars . Open room with a foam vocal shield mounted behind the mic.

I bought this on a whim because it was on sale. I'm glad I did. It's no Neumann, but for the price it's got good, clear sound. I'm using it for vocals, both singing and voice acting, and have zero complaints after a few weeks of use.

So I bout this Mic on sale with a warranty in early 2018, and let me tell you! The sound is CRISP, Vibrant, warm, and extremely sensitive. An the Nic is extremely durable, being said my mic dropped when I was in hooking it from the tripod and it still works as new!?!?!

If all you have ever used is a dynamic mic, you are gonna freak out on this thing. The sound is exceptional. Never pay the full price for this. It often goes on sale for around $80 or even less. Totally worth it.

I like this mic i hve two that i have picked up on daily deal sales. I use them for a bluegrass open mic where i just have them kind of capturing the stage sound and everyone is playing acoustic. I also use these for in home recording basic set up for demos and such. They can be fun for capturing room audio at jams, shows and practices to have something to listen back to. great workhorse condenser for the price.

Not bad for an MXL mic -- much, MUCH better than the 990 or 770. And it runs circles around the Yeti and AT2020. It certainly doesn't belong in the high-end group of elite mics...but if you find it for under $100, go for it! It sounds full and just bright enough, with hardly, if any, sibilance issues.

This a great addition to my home studio. I use it for voice recording for my church band and love the multi direction capability.

I sing in four different groups at church, and play the euphonium in a semi-professional wind ensemble. Since none of these groups can perform live now, we are recording each of our parts at home. This mic does an awesome job with vocals and with instrumentals.

Very good snare mic not quite the same quality as the V910, the 910 is slightly warmer, but it is still a very accurate mic.

The included mic stand attachment was poorly constructed. The mic would not screw in correctly therefore it failed to seat properly and after a few attempts to attach the microphone the mic stand attachment came apart.

Primarily using this for live application - weekly band practice, small events, etc. Sound quality was great, it is well constructed, and I'm looking forward to using it for a long time. This was an upgrade to my current set up of hand-me-down equipment and I am very pleased with my choice.

I'm not a huge microphone tech. I don't critique every aspect of what a mic does or does not do. But for my own use, I love this mic. It does what I need it to do. I'm sure there are other mics that are better, but I will take this mic any day.

I am using this to mic vocals in my home recording studio...It sounds much more articulate than the Shure dynamic mic I was using previously. I am pleased with the quality and performance of this microphone. Get one when offered for SDOTD ! I had to order shock-mount separately.
