1 star lost as my first speaker lasted only a couple of months before it would only put out a thin echo- y sound for no obvious reason. I tested with other devices and against its eventual replacement before returning. Strange, as speaker seems to be designed for knocks and no other reviews mentioned reliability. 2nd star lost as Argos advertised this as coming with 4 months of free Spotify. When I called Argos customer service to ask where my email code was they just told me to contact Spotify on Twitter or Facebook. Obviously Spotify simply replied that this is Argos's promotion. Argos were also implying it was my fault as I must have had a free trial before (and they would know how, exactly?). So eventually I just went with the 2 month trial Spotify were offering to everyone, but it does seem wrong that Argos can promise £40 worth of "freebies" and then not deliver or provide any route to follow up (JBL sell it at the same price directly, incidentally....) So, the speaker: magnificent. Sounds huge. Was worried about having everything in 'mono' but separation is excellent and I barely notice sound is only coming from one source. Perfect for just keeping with you around the house (because not everyone has Sonos or Bose multiroom setups) and listening to just about everything on including heavy music that sounded awful through my previous Bluetooth radio of similar price. Yes you can throw it in a bag and take it to a beach party/music lesson too, and standing it on its end means it takes up little space wherever you choose to use it. Get the app to turn off the startup sound. Simply brilliant design, let's hope this one lasts. ... More

As an upgrade from my old Flip 4, I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and it’s money well spent. Sounds great overall, with a decent sound stage (which can be tweaked with the app from Google Play Store or Apple) and a moderately punchy bass. It’s loud, easily filling a room without distortion at high volume, and it has around 7 hours play time between charges in my case. There’s no 3.5mm input jack so strictly Bluetooth only, but the range is really good with a decent device. It uses both SBC and AAC codecs which is very good if you use Apple devices, which streams AAC for better quality. Overall I’m happy. ... More

I looked around for several months for a small portable speaker for traveling with, and looked at several makes, but the JBL Flip 6, just came out on top. I have it connected to my Shanling Q1, via Bluetooth, playing my music catalog, mainly FLAC format, and it sounds amazing, crystal clear, and loud. Love the design and the sturdiness of it, feels like I could take it anywhere, being water and dustproof. Simple to use and USB-C connectivity for charging (2.5 hours) makes it future-proof. Very happy indeed.

I'm usually a brand snob and go for Samsung or Sony for my sound but I read the reviews of this speaker and glad I did. To how I like my music, the bass is great, especially in a bedroom. I use it in a unit for work and other drivers have said it also sounds great for the size of it. It's rugged so it will take a beating if dropped and I personally think it looks great with the orange hint in the JBL lettering. I'm glad I chose this speaker of a Bose bluetooth speaker I was looking at. £100 is great value! And you can buy more and link them together in party mode. ... More

I wanted another Flip 5 to pair up in Stereo and distribute the music with another room in the house. I was tempted by the price of the Flip 6 and decided to buy it. Great rounder sound than my Flip 5. Can pair in party mode but not in Stereo mode! I wish JBL would tweak it so it can pair up in stereo with Flip 5. I think they can, as it worked in Stereo for 30sec then said you need 2 of the same model to pair up in Stereo! JBL Don’t be so mean. Thanks.

sound good, was expecting better sound for the extra cost. charge lasts about a week with off and on usage for me, but it does take a long time to charge. also the design seems a bit fragile. they say this is portable but I could see damaging this pretty easily. also no way to turn off the LED lights, so I have to cover it up at night when I am trying to listen to sleep music. I would like to try the Sony comparable speaker for the lower cost and see if there is a difference.

I looked at lots of online reviews and found it hard to work out what to get. This ticked most boxes for me: not too big; USB-C charging; easy to use; sounds pretty good. Of course the sound isn't as good as my small hi-fi, but it's good enough for the kitchen or doing some chores when I move it around the house. I used the app to boost the mid/high range which (as the reviews say) helps the sounds balance a bit, but only a bit.

I bought this because of the brand name but it wasn't as expected. The sound was almost just ''treble'' and base was, disappointing. I had to return it for a better option. The design I must say is cute and weight is very cool.

We got a pair of these as our stereo sound system to watch movies on our iPad at night. They also work great in the front yard while washing cars. They go from zero to 1 with a big volume jump so I can't use them at work near co-workers (but when I do, they know where the music is coming from). Go ahead and get two!!!

I bought this bluetooth loudspeaker for my wife to go with her Samsung tablet as she watches catch-up TV programmes on it and the built in speaker is limited. Very pleased with sound quality and robust construction of the Flip 6. Connecting the two products was also straight forward (once the Flip 6 as fully charged).

Great sound. Compact and light. Easy to use. Can use in shower. Extremely happy. Would have liked it to be able to connect to my phone (seems an easy add-on) - even if one has to continue to use one's phone's mic. So it would then just continue to be a Bluetooth speaker that is already connected. Why is this blocked?? But I knew in advance this would be the case - so not a fault.

This speaker does the job, it’s loud and has enough bass for its size. The reason I brought this one was to be able to pair it with the JBL Boom box. Unfortunately it can’t pair with it because the Boom box is an older model. It’s not too much of a problem because I love then both and they are both loud.

It’s marketed as an outdoor speaker but I bought this to use in the bathroom. The sound is superb but can be adjusted using the app’s EQ if you find it too bassy (which it can be with orchestral music). The only downside is the speaker is fairly loud even at the minimum setting so isn’t really suitable for going to sleep to.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago and could not be happier. Having friends over in and hanging in the garden, dancing in the kitchen, getting the cleaning done - the Flip has taken over any from my Alexa because the quality of sound is far superior. Great bass! Long life too so doesn’t need constant charging.

I bought this for my birthday house party, as a university student this works very well with great volume and sound quality, you can also connect multiple JBL speakers together. Great size and easy to move around in luggage, 10/10 would recommend and worth the price

The Flip 6 has amazingly good sound for the price and the size - good bass, clear mid and treble with no harshness. Another superb product from JBL. It is so handy to be able to take it into another room or into the garden and stream flawlessy with this little beauty. Highly recommended.
