I'm totally new to home recording but wanted something that I could use to record and play along with jam tracks in Bias FX etc. This product is incredibly easy to use... once it's setup you literally just plug in and get going. I was really worried about lag/latency but there isn't any that I can pick up on when playing guitar. I'm really glad I bought this product, it does exactly what I need it to do.

Very simple to use. Honestly the best purchase I've ever made for home recording. For me it was a game changer, there's no latency at all for me when I plug my guitar in. It feels like I'm playing an actual amp, it saves me so much time tracking guitars it's not even funny. It sends a very clear signal to your DAW and has a built in light to help you set your level for the best signal to noise ratio. I honestly don't have anything negative at all to say about it. My only critique would be for them to include a headphone adapter so you could plug any headphones in straight away, but even the cheapest studio quality headphones include those and they can be bought by themselves for a few bucks. 10/10 would recommend, buy it! ... This is perfect for beginner podcasters. Unless you're going to have two people doing a podcast together in the same room (unlikely these days), you don't need anything fancier than this when you're just starting out. It sounds completely professional and you won't need features that are any more advanced. The knobs aren't loose or anything, so it seems like it'll last you a long time, and you won't necessarily need a fancier audio interface later on. It really depends on what you're going to do with your podcast. For instance, if it's a podcast about tech, then you're going to want the most sophisticated-sounding audio possible. I used to have a Line 6 GX that was "okay," that I used for modeling and recording guitar tracks, but it was stolen and I wanted to try something different. After reading a lot of positive reviews I settled on this, and I am glad that I did! The low-latency IO in the Scarlett is far superior to my previous interface. The "halo" LED gain monitoring is decent, and there's more headroom than I originally expected (I have guitars with active pickups, and it handles the input signal just fine with plenty of adjustment). The sound quality is also superior to my old interface. I've purchased two of these so far. One was a while back which we use to record voice overs on a Windows 10 PC at a TV station. We've had no trouble with it at all. The other was purchased more recently. I needed a clean balanced output on a computer running Ubuntu (a Linux/GNU based operating system). After trying the one I had already bought, I purchased another. It's not officially supported, but it seems to work OK. I did have one instance of having to unplug the device and plug it back in to get audio working in a particular application, but I'm not sure if I should blame the audio interface for that yet. ... For the price, you are getting a lot more than just the device. There are many software that you are getting in the bundle. The problem I got was that my headphone (+200$) is TTRS and it does not work with this TRS system even if you use an adapter. Otherwise, good machine. I wish a better way to know if the volume is too low or not. The color system is not accurate. It should shows the dB.

I love this thing because when I up the gain it tells me whenever I am in the range of red which is bad and green which is good. It has a buttery smooth tone when I plug my cloud lifter + shure sm7b into it. This is overall a great audio interface and I like using the solo because I don't use two microphones. Also it has the guitar plug option for whenever you want to record your guitar or whatever can plug into the second plug to the right of the microphone plug. 10/10 would recommend this to anyone who is looking to increase their audio game. ... I am using the Scarlett Solo as the interface to my Mac. It is in line behind a dbx286s powering an Electro-Voice RE20. Connecting the dbx to the Solo from the Line Out 1/4 3 pole balanced to the Mic XLR input allows for no gain required from the Solo thus no additional noise. The sound options on the Mac show up without issue. Be aware that some software will assume 2 channel stereo if you use a 1/4 2 pole unbalanced cable from the dbx to the Solo. It took a little bit to get this up and running on a Mac, but there was plenty of support from Focusrite available - videos and online articles were a lot more helpful than the included instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions exactly, it will save time and headache. Once it's set up, it's very easy to use. Compatible with everything I've downloaded so far, it's just a matter of what software you prefer. If you're planning to record different instruments, do your research as you may need to add some extra hardware to your signal such as a pre-amp or a DI box. I use with Sure SM35 (which comes with a dedicated preamp) and gain is almost at max, like 9.5 out of 10. 1. There's enough noise in the recorded signal to require using a gate. 2. Direct monitoring with headphones has really excessive noise. Not a good headphone amp, I suppose. Maybe the Audient iD4 would do better. Idk.

The Scarlett Solo is perfect for the solo artist or group that needs to record 1 thing at a time. I use it for recording vocals and keyboard, but it can be used for guitar/bass or anything that will plug into an XLR or 1/4 TRS jack. Preamp is good (I have a Rode NT-1 mic) and it only clips/distorts when everything is turned up to max levels, which is almost always unnecessary with proper acoustics and setup imo. Also comes with freebies like Ableton Live Lite and Scarlett Plugin Suite to get you started, if need be. For less than $100, you really can't beat it. ... More

I simply plugged it in and my Windows PC searched the net and installed the necessary driver in seconds. All my apps (including Zoom) recognize this interface allowing me to use higher end microphones for best quality audio during web meetings and when creating screencast demos for my clients. Audio quality from this interface is clean, quiet. However, if using this unit as a preamp for a dynamic microphone, you MUST purchase a gain booster such as the Cloudlifter CL1 to amplify the signal while pushing down the noise floor.

Fantastic DI box. Got mine used for less, but I'd happily pay the $100 retail price if I had too. Solid construction with an aluminum housing and plastic faces. Knobs feel like they're made well and have a little resistance to them and a good feel. I'm pretty happy with the sound quality and I don't hear any problems with the box through a Les Paul. I bought the Focusrite Scarlette Solo for digital recordng into my computer with a condenser mic. Because I need only one input at a time, this interface is perfect for my needs. I'm also using it for better sounding FaceTime and Zoom conversations. I am totally satisfied. Get it!

Perfect for newbie like me. Simple solid construction with some updated features over version one. Very easy to use right out of the box, looks great also. My only odd issue was with windows 10, I still needed a inline pre amp like Cloudlifter or Fethead. I did chose fethead and love it.

I use the Focusrite Solo to receive a master audio feed to embed into my live streams. I love that this unit does not require a wall plug. Download the drivers and you're ready to receive audio. The unit sounds great! FAVORITE FEATURE: My favorite feature is that the signal coming IN to the Focustrite can easily be identified as clipping or not with the green ring around the input volume knob.
