After having two sets of M-Audio speakers, that I really liked, each starting to develop the same problem, I was in the market for new speakers. I am a pretty critical listener and appreciate decent sounding computer speakers. I also do some video/audio editing and want speakers that reproduce a pretty neutral sound without being expensive. The Edifier's are a new line to me, but thought I'd give them a try given the pretty positive reviews and B&H's great customer service if I needed to return. The speakers are wonderful, especially given the price. Comparable to speakers at least double the cost. Able to produce good sound a near listening levels, but also used them to provide low level background music for a recent gathering. My only complaint is that there is not a headphone jack like my old speakers. Other than that they are pleasing to listen to and look at. They even passed the wife test who appreciates the wood tone of these cabinets over the industrial gray of the old ones. ... More

I finally decided to upgrade my stereo setup and wanted to purchase a pair of speakers that wouldn't break the band. I've had my eyes on the Edifier R1280T for a while and decided to fully commit. I ordered them from B&H and picked up from the store an hour later. Installation was very easy as all the cables are provided and simple to set up. I love the crisp sound of these speakers and the built-in subwoofers provide plenty of bass. The bass/treble controls on the side make for easy equalizing, and the remote control allows for adjustments that don't require getting out of your chair. The on/off switch is located on the back of one of the speakers which is a little inconvenient but I've now memorized its location and I can access it with ease. Overall I'm very happy with these speakers and would definitely recommend for anyone interested in acquiring competent speakers that won't stretch your budget. ... More

These small speakers pack a punch for the price. a great value. Work really well, easy to set up. you can hook up two sources which is handy. Took off one star because they are plastic wood grain, not wood and the power switch is in an inconvenient spot. Not a big deal but I tend to leave them on instead of shutting them off because of that.

I can't believe that this pair of speakers costs the same as a single Apple HomePod mini. Yes, they take up more space. And no, they aren't smart. But 'for their size' (which is how many reviewers talk about the HomePod minis), the R1280T's sound great! I like that there are treble and bass knobs on the side of the main speaker. And I don't mind that the volume knob doesn't have a minimum or maximum. I connected these to an Audioengine B-Fi for use in my garage. So for the same price as the discontinued Apple HomePod, or 50% more than a pair of HomePod minis, I can play music via AirPlay or Bluetooth to a significantly better sounding set of speakers. Glad I went this route. ... More

These speakers are Great! well worth the price. After installation, I kept wondering about all the new sounds happening around me. Turns out I was just not receiving all the available sounds from the internet videos. These speakers are so much better than the old Bose speakers. I can live without those excessive lows...

I've had the 1280T speakers for about a week now and I love them. Before I received them, I was a little concerned that they wouldn't be punchy enough after having a 2.1 setup for the last 12 years. I can now say they are more than adequate and sound phenomenal. You'll have a hard time finding better speakers for the price.

I got these as fancy computer speakers and as low-end small room stereo music speakers. They do both jobs quite well. They beat most any 'computer speakers' out there. And as a small room stereo music speaker they are not bad. They are not high end audiophile speakers, but for a small room and casual listening they are very good.

Simultaneous inputs is rare but works great on these speakers. You can program an Apple TV remote or other universal remote with the volume up/down/mute buttons, so you don't need to use the included remote.

It's hard to beat these for the price. They get fairly loud and have good clarity. Overall, they sound good, but lack a little midrange and low end. I'm not blown away by them, but I'm very content with them overall.

I am giving a three star because the fit up is less than I would have expected. The cover on one of the speakers does not fit. There s a gap between it and the housing. If I push it in tightly it just comes back out by itself. I may try switching the covers. Music from iTunes sounds good on them.
