I would give this 4/5 stars simply because of the epic fail by the company's website when it came to obtaining drivers for this product because windows 7 64 bit didn't find a driver for it. Not sure if it is a Behringer issue, windows issue, or motherboard issue...but the interface will no longer be recognized and is kinda a pain in the butt to get recognized again by windows. Other than those 2 issues it is a FANTASTIC products. 192K with 4 in and 4 out for 150, can't beat it. love having the monitos and headphones on seperate knobs. ... More

Read through the reviews and can not understand why there are so many negatives about this interface. It works well with every application I use it with. GREAT sound quality. I specifically want to remaster everything at 192khz 24bits just to make a better rendering of the tons of tapes I have in my collection. What I have done so far is the best I've heard. Remember the analog machine IS THE PROBLEM not the sound card. Still looking for that magic REVOX. But the HIFI video recordings I made as a DJ with the top of the line JVC vcrs as players is magnificent. One more thing I read which makes no sense at all is that there isn't 4 outputs. That person didn't look at the back very long as there are 4 line out on the back. Compare this to the steinberg for 3 times as much, Same preamps, But line and mic switch for every input Those that know how to use this item use it well. It is versatile for a little audio interface. ... More

I've been using the Scarlett Focusrite 4i4 for a good while for my home studio. It worked pretty well. After a while I decided I needed something that didn't require me to plug and unplug multiple times during the course of a session, so after a lot of research, reading reviews, and watching Youtube videos I purchased this product. And boy, was I surprised by how great the audio is through this thing! Crystal clear, better even than the Focusrite, with more options for monitoring! The fact that the phantom power is either all on or all off can be mildly annoying, but it's really not a big deal at the end of the day. If you're looking for a solid audio interface, look no further! ... More

I have purchased three U-Phoria's to use for different applications in home studio recording and have had great success with the ease of use, the relatively easy setup, and the sound quality of the raw tracks. I am not versed at all in technology but have been able to easily follow manuals and online chats that got me onto the setup, the driver installation, and getting started with its use. It is my opinion this is a great piece of equipment, especially for the price, and it has fit my needs as once being a somewhat experienced analog recorder having taken time off and now getting back and into the digital age. ... After using this for almost a year, I can't recommend this interface enough. This is an amazing product at a great price. The preamps are pleasant sounding and clean, and the unit is solid metal and built like a brick. I had to fiddle around a bit to get it to work, but that's because windows has a horrible sound environment, it's not the gear's fault. Don't kid yourself, this interface isn't a replacement for professional level gear, but it certainly beats anything at its price point. The only problem I've ever had with it was the headphone amp once picking up quiet hum from fluorescent lights (this didn't effect recording, just sound out) and that only happened once. In the right hands, this thing can be wonderful, and lay down some really great recordings. And if you want 4 tracks for $100, this is the unit for you. ... More

So, this worked for one song that came out badly. Then I upgraded to Windows ten and nothing. Contacted Behringer and here was the reply: Thank you for your patience. No registration was found on file for this device and it is now outside of the one-year-warranty. Excellent listening quality sound output. Using it on a Mac to output to Event loudspeakers. One pair is powered and uses balanced inputs with XLR connectors, and the other unbalanced off an Alesis amplifier with 1/4" connectors - this interface outputs both types of signals simultaneously (and of course, headphones). Very easy installation on Mac since the OS already has the driver. One tip: After turning on and selecting the interface for the first time in the OS, there was no sound. Rebooting the computer did the trick - everything worked smoothly after that.

I was looking for a simple hardware device so I could record my guitar while playing along with previously recorded music. This unit really does the job. Using Ardour software I can playback the original recordings through the outputs while simultaneously recording through the inputs. The headphone output allows me to mix the guitar input with the prerecorded playback, and without disturbing the neighbors. The units outputs are line level outputs so I purchased powered monitor speakers for when I don't want to use headphones. The unit comes with a power adapter, but seems to work fine by being powered through the USB cable. I have not been using the power adapter. I have had no problems with the unit. ... More

I have had and used the Behringer audio interface for a week now, and so far it is great. The sounds is really good, especially clear, and absolutely NO humming --- a problem I had with previous Behringer mixers. They seem to have that worked out. It was easy to set up, but took a while to figure out how to adjust all of the levels just right. That is standard with audio interfaces. I love all of the inputs and outputs, I love that it is 4X4 (and all four input channels are seen nicely by Logic Pro), and I love the great control I have. Really, so far at least I can say you cannot go wrong for about $100! PS I have not used a mic yet, looking forward to testing out the Midas preamps. If anything isn't perfect, I will update this review later. ... More

Worked as described. Very happy with the initial installation and use of it. Got it connected to my Win10 PC. What I wish was done differently. (1) identify that the package includes a USB cable so that one isn't bought in preparation for connection, and (2) a sticker is placed over the USB port on the device that states to download and install the drivers from Behringer's website before connecting it to the PC vs. connecting, getting flakey Windows drivers, and then having to figure out how to uninstall those before installing new ones. Four stars vs. five for those two items. ... More

This unit has tons of ins and outputs for the money as well as a very low signal to noise floor. One thing with any of the entree level products from Behringer is there are sometimes lemons in the bunch. I have two of these units at my work and I bought one for home recording and video calls. After 1 month the first channel's preamp just completely stopped receiving signal. I have thoroughly troubleshot the unit and it is now a 3 channel interface. Which wouldn't be that big of an issue, but all video calling services only allow you to send audio from channel 1 to skype or zoom, so I have to purchase another one... ... More

I use this interface in my home studio. Read the instructions and install the driver first if you use a PC. The interface is recognized when attached with the USB cable provided. Using it with you DAW of choice is a little more challenging. If the device does not show up in the device list check the ascio driver and ensure that you have activated the UMC404HD in that application. Save the new set up then reopen your DAW. the device should now be available to choose. The interface is very quiet and has the added feature of the inserts. I love everything about this. 4 preamps, pad for each channel, great io, the list goes on. The only thing I don't love is the latency (which is kinda high). This is for my home studio (running through JBL LSR305s) and will suit my needs for many, many, many years. You can do so many more things with this interface rather than most others in this price range. This actually blows me away. Good job Behringer. Pro: 4 preamps Many features you don't normally get in this price range It's freakin amazing! Not USB buss powered Cons: not USB buss powered High (ish) latency No adat (but who can complain in this price range)

As my first proper interface I'm really satisfied with this one. Got it for $105 barely used. Built like a tank, MIDI (main reason I purchased), and four great-sounding preamps. There's a vid on YouTube of an ABC of this, a Scarlet, and a Mackie Onyx and this one sounds better somehow. 5ms input latency at 96Khz in Ableton on my 2012 Lenovo y510p. Plays nicely with my '96 Alesis QS8. Really can't go wrong with this one.

UMC404HD Awesome, easy to use, sounds as good as what you plug into it. Mic-Preamps are clean and clear. Noise minimal...certainly less than what most of popular music in our life time was recorded through. A good mic will still be a good mic. With all the equipment available today at very reasonable prices, the only thing stopping anyone from making a hit (sounding) record is talent. Recording gear is not a barrier...in my opinion of course:)

I'm almost at 2 years on this interface. I give it continual use for my studio monitors, and record 1-4 channels into them from time to time. As long as you've noted that the phantom power is global for the 4 channels, and the lack of any kind of software controller, I can't imagine you'll have any complaints. Even if it breaks, you can replace it for dirt cheap compared to any other 4-channel interface. I do sometimes have the interface disconnect unexpectedly (which can ruin any work being done in a DAW), but I am 95% sure that is the fault of my USB ports on my computer. ... More
