I just picked up the Zed 10FX and am using it with my iMac via USB as my primary I/O and all around project mixer. For starts i have a massive 100% lossles collection of music on iTunes. The monitor output of this board feeds my near field monitors in my computer / music room. The Main out feeds a high end audio system in my den. This board sounds GREAT in both rooms and man I have a nice set of PSB speakers in my den. The board is quiet and capable of driving high level outputs with no preceivable distortion (I run the signals hot to the den to aviod dimmer noise from my high hats in there) In my computer room, my keyboards and vocals sound great, much better than my old mackie CFX that once ran this setup. I will record with it soon and I'm sure it will be fine. The FX are pretty good sounding once you spend the time figuring out how to tweak delay time and the one paramter offered if necessary. I found a few dely/reverb dettings that sound great on vocals. I'm very happy with teh effects. There are some pretty neat high impedance guitar imput features including a second harmonic generating overdrive available on thei high z input. I'm a keyboard guy not a guitarist so i have not played with this input. Cool feature for a small project board though. Only draw back is the USB interface is only a stereo input to my Mac. But hey, for the price, I rather have solid audio performance and features in the analog aspect of the mixer. Overal, as this is a primary pre-amp to two rooms with high end gear, I say this board sounds fantastic and blows both my old Mackie's away. I'm sure the newer Makie Onyx is good though. OK, thumbs up A&H ... More

Hands down. Had Mackie (pretty good 1220i,cheapy feel, surprised by that, good manual, , sound is transparent.); Alesis (pots dirtied, Power cord fell apart at the plug-mixer end, 6 years old); yamaha (light!, compression built-in is cool but sound of it is not to my liking, quality seems good, wall wort in cord though), Behringer (fragile, Cheap, OK sound, powerr cord broke within a year. not recommended. This mixer is very satisfying so far. XLR outputs make alot of difference in sound quality when hooked up to powered speakers.)

I just did my first gig with my new ZED10FX. I'm very pleased. It has ACRES of headroom and a clean, transparent sound. I plugged my synth into a guitar input - it sounded warm and natural. My sax sounded great through a guitar input, as well. The vocal mic sounded better than ever. The onboard effects are useful; I decided on 'Ambient' as the general purpose reverb. I played backup tracks from a Windows laptop via the handy USB connection. The level was perfect and consistent. (I had been using the laptop's headphone jack.) I was not able to play my tracks and record the gig at the same time on the laptop due to a slight noise generated by, I suspect, the USB channel. I will continue to explore this, however. I highly recommend this board for solo and small group gigs. The knobs work well, I now prefer them to faders. ... More

If you're looking for a small format mixer, this is pretty much the best one. First, A&H are notorious for great sound, and this board is no different. Also, you get a combination for features that, at this price range, is hard to beat. Parametric mids, dedicated Aux out plus an FX out to onboard FX that you actually want to use (with controllable parameters), tons of routing capabilities, inserts in the main outs, XLR main outs, no wall warts for power, separate recording bus. You can find boards that have some of these, but it's hard to find one that has all at this size and price range. One drawback...no mute buttons. I use this for mostly live work, but would be great in a studio as well. This is about $100 more than the other decent brands for small mixers, but IMO is totally worth it. ... More

Excellent sound. XLR outs make all the difference. Quality construction. No Wall-Wort which is great. Buttons and dials a bit too close together perhaps but that is minor. I believe this mixer provides excellent value. I have had small mixers from other manufacturers. This tops them all. Highly recommended.

More professional live sound and recording interface features than anything else close to this price point and the sound ( including FX) is great. I use this with a pair of JBL studio monitors in a light studio I keep at my vacation home for capturing ideas and sometimes I swear the work product sounds better than the stuff I do in my dramatically better outfitted studio. I love this thing.

I recently bought the ZED FX 6-channel mixer for my music video recording projects and so far, I have been extremely pleased with the results. Wonderful sound processing, smooth digital effects, and clearly defined turning knobs, makes this unit outstanding in any musical project that you might have. I haven't use this for bands or any other live performances, but I'm sure if will do the job as well. No issues connecting to my MacBook Pro or webcam, and it works well with my Garage band software. If you are looking for a realize and great sounding mixer, I highly recommend this product. ... More

I have this board as a #2 for smaller gigs, where there are 2 locations like at a wedding ceremony/big party, or a 'main' event/ smaller 2nd event, also for band practices. This is an aamazing board, do not let its small size turn you away. It has great components/features and is built like a tank. Great Pres, EQ & efx. Small and light, this unit will save yr butt at some point, & even fits into a laptop bag! Its a bit of a Swiss Army Knife. If you need more channels, look at its bigger brothers.

Just wanted to drop a positive comment on this mixer. Use it with my Bose L1 compact and it's everything I need for live acoustic gigs and has plenty of channels/capabilities to add other performers if desired. If you're looking for something for primarily a larger band I'd recommend one with more channels but beyond that this is a great piece of equipment imo. The power button on the back did break off for me early on but I can still access it using a key or anything else my monkey hands can get a hold of haha

I have used several other low-cost mixers for years. This is more solid and pro than all of them. Love this mixer. It has pro features and is built like a tank. Very reliable, and most importantly, it sounds great! Many other mixers are shrill in the upper mids, 2-5k area. The ZED-10FX sounds like a more expensive mixer, just with fewer channels.

My first one worked great for two years then middle of gig left main out stopped working. Bought another. Worked great for three years! Left main out stopped working! My third one great for last three years and yep, left side main out just went out during a gig! I don't understand why left goes out. I still go purchase it again because it performs so good until main goes out! Love the effects, sound quality and ease of controls and how compact it is. Headed to guitar center today to pick up another.

I had initially tried out the mackie fx12v2 and the sliders on that + overall build felt cheap. The ZED-10FX is way better. Only short comings - the ability to dial in effects is limited; I thought I would have more control and the ability to use multiple effects. The USB computer connection is only a stereo in/out situation - I though I could pull individual channels as inputs, not the case. I'll still give it 5 stars at this price point.

This is THE board that I use for any situation! I run karaoke and DJ at least 4 nights a week and this is the best board for the buck! I can get the greatest sound quality out of any of my singers, and sometimes that is no small feat in and of itself! HIGHLY SUGGEST GETTING THIS PIECE OF EQUIPMENT!!!!

I bought this from a great seller. I could not get it to work. Charles was kind enough to spend an hour with me, on the phone, trying to get it to work. He cheerfully took it back, and had it working at his home. I don't know what we missed, but Charles Goddard is as fine a seller as there is on Reverb! I wish I could review the item itself!

As others have noted this mixture performs very well in a live situation. Vocals are full and have a warmth and clarity cheaper mixers don't get. It handles the digital piano, a difficult instrument to amplify, very well with flat response and no distortion. FX are excellent. Extremely pleased.

We have four vox and line-level keys running through this thing. It's quiet, small, easy to use, has a decent fx engine, and checks all the boxes our band needed in a practice space mixer. Haven't even used it to send signal to a computer.
