Good product, aggravating installation
I ordered a pair of HD280 Pro cushions to replace cushions that were disintegrating on my headset. B&H shipped very quickly and I was happy with their service. The pads themselves are slightly different then the originals, but I have no complaints. I am more frustrated with Sennheiser's shoddy replacement guide videos. Just pinch and pull to remove the headphones, seems easy enough right? Well not in my experience, I essentially had to surgically... Show More

Outstanding!
Owning a solid pair of reference headphones is key, and spending the money for a good pair means not only better fidelity, but also the ability to replace parts as they wear. The ear cushions on my 3-year-old Sennheiser HD280 Pro's had started to come apart after some serious usage. It took me just a quick search to find B&H (a local shop) online, order, and have delivered (the next day!) replacement cushions. As with anything well made and durab... Show More

Good Replacement Part; Hard to Install
These cushions do exactly what you would expect: replace the only part of the HD280 headphones that seems to wear with age. The downside is how hard they are to install, it takes about 20 minutes or so of pushing, poking and pulling the fabric around the plastic holder on the headphones. Then your hand slips, and you start all over again. Other than that, they're great, and the fact that they exist is a testament to the amazing build quality of t... Show More

Exact fit, like new again.
Like all earphones, the ear cushions are the first part to show wear and tear and like all German designed equipment, the earphones are made to last via replaceable parts - Ear Cushions, wires and even up-grades to a full headset with a mic. With most other earphone manufacturers, if anything gets broken or worn out, like the ear cushions, one would just have to buy a new complete new set of headphones. Not so with Sennheiser Electronic equipment... Show More

Good Replacement
I've had this pair of Sennheisers for probably 7 years or more, and they were in pretty rough shape, although still surprisingly good considering the amount of use I've had from them. The ear cushions were basically trashed and there was no way I was going to get rid of these headphones, so I decided that a replacement was in order. Although they are a bit costly for quite a small amount of material, working out to basically a fifth of the cost of an entire new pair of headphones, they are worth it. I only wish that these(or any) headphones were designed with detachable/washable cushions.

Like new
The earpads on my several year old black HD280 started to tear and I got these to replace. I was slightly worried the description says they're for the silver headphones, but there's no silver on the earpads. The pads themselves feel firmer, and cover material has a lighter, more matte finish. It's probably just because my previous ones were so old. If you know how to do it, they're easy to remove and replace -- the first time, though, you'll probably need some help. I'd recommend checking youtube for a tutorial. Also, thumbs-up to B&H for having a great price for these.

Just like new!
These are my working location audio phones, they work no matter what, The stay on my head and sound very steady and reliable, they sound close enough to a set of monitors for fieldwork, The new ear covers work like the old ones only better, they're tighter and isolate better than the stock units. They're pretty comfortable but not too comfortable which is good for what I use these for, running after actors and interviews. They can be somewhat painful after a few hours so, I take them off when I don't need them on. They work perfectly!

Does the job
You can't really go wrong with these if you like your HD280s. I mean, if you enjoy the sound and properties of these headphones, this beats buying new ones. They could be cheaper though, as the price makes you consider simply buying other alternatives. On the usage side; you have to stretch them out a little to be able to put them on. Hold them as you go inserting them so as not letting them come back out. It shouldn't take you more than 4 mins. There is a youtube instructional video for simple visual instructions.

cushions work just fine
Not only is it convenient to have replaceable ear cushions for the HD280 Pro headphones, it is necessary, because they seem to go bad more easily than other headphones. The cushions tend to tear at a sewn seam every time. I have had a pair of hd280s since mid-2008 and I have replaced both cushions thus far. But I love the headphones, so that's life. Sennheiser has an informative online video to show how to replace the ear cushions. Might be difficult without the video, but the video makes it a breeze.

Renew your headphones!
One of the things that attracted me to the HD280 pro was the replaceable parts. After two years of hard travel use the ear cushions were looking sad. If you search on Youtube you can find useful how-to videos posted by Sennheiser. It's a quick and easy swap after you watch the video which is recommended. They don't feel as soft as my old ones but I have a feeling they will break in fairly quickly. I did not realize how much my old ones were squashed down until I replaced them.

Direct replacement for HD280 Pro Ear pads
These are the real deal from Sennheiser and even come in Sennheiser packaging. They are easy to install and they work just like the originals. Literally less than a minute for each pad.I wasted my time ordering pads on @ shipped from China which were advertised as 280 Pro replacement pads for cheaper, and when they arrived they were totally different. I got a refund, but didn't want to go the @ pot luck route after that to save the $ or so.

Ear pad review time
The ear pads came as promised via B&H they were in pristine condition in a sennheiser branded package that was unopened. Now taking the old ear pads off was quite easy, but I had SOME trouble putting the new ones on, you really do want to stretch out the ear pads before attempting to put them on the headphones. See the youtube url for basic instructions on how to install the ear pads. Thanks for reading, HAPPY LISTENING!!

Cheaper than shop repair or replacement
I love my Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones and when the ear pads disintegrated after about 3 years of heavy (everyday) use, I immediately thought of repairing them (I hate throwing stuff out...)....installation was easy (there is a good instructional video on the net) and the product literally feels new again. exactly as expected
The ear cups will be exactly what you expect them to be. Same as OE despite being all nice and new. You'll probably notice a difference in the texture because they haven't gotten all gross and greasy yet but otherwise there the exact same. There is a really handy video from Sennheiser on how to actually replace the ear cup. Its actually a bit challenging. Link following: @

So so
You know...I just can't recall the texture of these pads being like this when I originally got the cans. They've served me so well that replacing the pads wasn't an option, but I'm really hoping they break in and this isn't an issue of cheaper materials on Sennheiser's part. In short, the new pads feel cheap and stiff. Time will tell if they hold up like the old ones did.

Worth It!
The cushions that came on my original HD280 got torn to shreds after a good 2 years of constant use. Installation is pretty straightforward, taking only about 10 minutes (you can find a tutorial from Sennheiser on YouTube). All in all the cushions work/feel great and saved me a large chunk of cash. You won't find them for a cheaper price than B&H. Recommended!

My headphones are like new again
Very happy I bought these new ear cushions, mine were old and peeling like a bad sunburn. There weren't any replacement instructions, but just be sure to ease them on (as well as easing the old ones off) by pulling on the strongest part of the material and working your way around from either narrow end of the oval and you'll be good to go in a few minutes.

Great way to refresh 280s
I bought a pair of 280s almost 10 years ago, and though they've always sounded great, the pads started flaking off and disintegrating a year or so ago. While putting on these pads takes a few minutes, it's far cheaper than buying a new pair of headphones, and sennheiser's youtube channel has a video guide that shows you exactly what to do.

Good as new
Easy to remove the old ones, takes a few minutes to install the new ones but they are good as new when your done. I have 3 pair of the HD 280 that I use one set and the service can be pretty rough but I like to keep my equipment nice. I've changed the pads a few times and I'm happy with the results once they are back to like new.

Work perfectly!
I was a little worried about being able to get these to fit, but I followed the instructions on the company's YouTube page and it worked great! You need to stretch the new cushions so they've fit around the plastic, but once that's done you can just slide it in with a fingernail or something slim and smooth like a butter knife.

Works great
These were a little hard to get on at first, but after watching the youtube video from Sennheiser, I was able to get them onto the headphones. Now the headphones are just as good as they were new. I'd recommend these to anyone that has the seams of the ear cushions coming apart, like my stock ones did eventually.

Easy Install
Buying these replacements for my HD280 silvers allowed me to keep my headphone since they don't make them anymore. I use these headphones every day, and I've worn out the padding on them several times over the years. I'm glad that all the parts on them are modular so I don't have to keep buying new headphones.

great replacement
Works great. Great replacement for the HD 280 headphones. Installation was somewhat easy thanks to Sennheiser's official tutorial video on how to install this. You can find the video on youtube. It took more than 5 years for the ear pads to worn out. My headphones are just like new after the installation!

Feels like cheaper material
Is it just me or does the material look and feel cheaper? My old ones were nice and leathery, but these feel completely different and I don't remember it feeling like this when I bought it originally. The cushioning also seems thinner. Are they really the same or were my old ones simply greasy and worn?
