I had purchased a lower cost LG monitor (4K) to use with my 2018 MacBook Pro 13" (it did not have USB C/Thunderbolt 3, it had a DisplayPort connection). Good monitor so far, just losing faith in B&H
I ordered a new one of these and B&H sent me an open boxed one instead. After pointing out their mistake (shortly after delivery), they offered me a $35 gift card for my trouble ( Although they did offer to replace it, I didn't have the time to return it for a new one due to a work a deadline - so I kept it). Works, but sometimes blacks out for a second. Damaged box.
If you own a new iMac Pro and you're a photo/video editor we're in the same boat. I needed thunderbolt three for native connectivity and this is the monitor that Apple offers on their website. I received the shipment in a damaged and seemingly previously opened box, pics attached, but to my surprise everything inside was in good shape and looked new. Works fine with 2018 Macbook Pro
I noticed Apple was still selling the older "A" version of this monitor rather than the revised "B" version listed here. This one worked fine with no problems at all. People have had various issues with the A version, but I have only tested this one. The stand is slightly wobbly when extended all the way up. When it works it's great
The first shipment I received it was dead on arrival. The thunderbolt 3 would deliver power to the laptop but the screen would remain black (and from the laptop side was like no screen was attached). After a bit of research I've noticed someone saying the same thing on apple forums and it turned out to be a defective monitor. B&H exchanged it, the process was smooth. Three stars reflects the 5KA-B model. I have purchased a 5KB-B and will report on that in 10 days. The 5KA-B model was supposed to have been recalled, but Apple stills sell them and I bought one. The picture is stunning, maybe even a little better than the 2017 iMAC 27 inch retina display. Pixel Burn In after 7 Months of Use
I purchased this monitor in June'17, and in January '18 I have now seen some horrible Pixel Burn in on the top right corner. The image is always displaying the navigation/status/browser bar, and that is the part that can been burned in. I never experienced other issues with this monitor, but hopefully LG's warranty will replace/repair this unit. Otherwise it is a very functional and usable monitor for the price. I want to get a 2nd one for my set up, but waiting to see how LG upholds their warranty.

Works great with new15-inch 2017 MacBook Pro
It was plug and play with my 2017 MacBook Pro. Resolution and color are amazing. Rendering time is great, waking up from sleep, no problems. So far so good! My only critique is the material and design. For the price and given Apple's collaboration with LG for this display, I would expect something more substantial - better aesthetic design and more heavy-duty material construction, like the old Thunderbolt displays. But the image quality and performance make up for all of that.

STUNNING: a perfect friend for you MBP
This is the third one of these I've had. 2 were purchased for me by work (from other sellers), this one I purchased myself on B&H for home. Every single one was perfect in every way and never gave me a moment of trouble. As long as you have a newer MacBook with a Lightning-3 port you should expect the same experience. I am a display connoisseur (if I do say so myself), and it simply doesn't get any better than this at this price point.

Failed out of the box
I give it two stars because it is only one unit. You may have better luck. This unit would not show a display picture out of the box. Then from time to time would show a display for 10 to 15 seconds, then go blank again. Took the cable to Apple store so they could test it. Cable tested fine so the actual monitor is to blame. No sign of shipping damage. Using with a 2017 27 inch iMAC retina display.

No issues here
A lot of negative reviews here and on Apple's site scared me about buying this. But I have seen none of the issues with the one I purchased recently (late 2017). Excellent picture that rivals the quality of the MBP screen itself in terms of resolution, color, consistency, etc. (just much bigger). Not exactly "Apple styling", but otherwise excellent in every way so far.

Gorgeous display and service
Ordered this on Tuesday from across the country. It was waiting for me when I got home from work on Friday. GREAT service from B&H! The display is spectacular. The color and clarity are on a par with my new iMac 5k. The LG display is adjustable, so it sits at EXACTLY the same height as my iMac. The camera is SUPERIOR to the one on the iMac.

New version
The bad reviews were for the recalled version. The new version, sold at B&H, is rock-solid and has none of the problems listed below. I bought mine for a MBP (latest version) and it works perfect and it has a beautiful image - nothing on the market is close. Buy this monitor; you will not regret it!

No regular USB 3.0 ports, no HDMI port, makes weird flashing
The box was open when it arrived from B&H. The seal had clearly been broken. This feels cheap (I'm used to Apple quality), so seems overpriced. The monitor never shuts off completely if plugged into my MacBook Pro. I'm also irritated that there's no USB 3.0 ports, or HDMI port, or Thunderbolt port.

Speakers are distorted
For some reason mid range tones have a terrible rattling sound after 3 months of light use. The speakers on my laptop sound better. It's disappointing that the USB-C ports on the back cannot power an external hard drive, and that there are no USB 3.0 or thunderbolt ports.

Great Monitor for the Mac Pro
Im using this monitor with a 2013 Mac Pro. I know it's only displaying 4K, but it just works like a Apple monitor - user setting controlled by the Mac, has built-in speakers, mic and camera. And I'm ready for a future MacBook Pro or new Mac Pro using the full 5K resolution.

Rippin' Resolution
As an architectural photographer, I'm always hoping for additional resolution and this beast delivers. It's plug & play, calibrates easily and I don't miss the Apple 27" monitor. Image is fine, like a giant iPhone.

GREAT accessory for an iMac PRO
Fits in with my iMac PRO like a glove and expands my screen real estate. Very useful for my PP work. Was truly Plug n' Play on install. 5k, just like the built-in monitor. Not one complaint after a week of use!

One Image Defect
Great monitor but I didn't expect to have an image defect for that price. It's got a hot white 2mm line at a 45 angle right in the middle of the screen.
