The Mavic Mini Fly-more Combo will take longer to be delivered. It is a heavily requested item at this time, but believe me when I say the wait will be worth it. I bought this little drone to complement my travel photography. Up until now, I had no RC flying experience. This little drone is not only light but easy to fly. For folks that dont like to read a lot of manuals, its also intuitive. Great drone for the hobby photographer
I've had $1500 drones in my shopping cart at the local brick and mortar more than once. The price point was, in the end, just too much for me to dedicate with the limited time I have to take photos. Small and Mighty
For the price and the size of this drone, you cant beat it! The biggest selling point being that you dont have to register the drone or take any tests for a license because of the weight being 249 grams - genius! Sure glad i bought one of the last Sparks!
I had (until lat May), Phantom 3 Standard, Spark, Mavic Pro, purchased in that order. The Spark became a victim of my stupidity of flying it in heavy winds while camping..... hit a tree trying to bring it back in, and landed in water. Was unable to retrieve till next morning. Great Drone - Caveat Emptor
I'd really love to give the Mini 5 stars, but many folks would argue it doesn't deserve even 1. It's not the Mini's fault. It's DJI's fault. Great hardware, but poor software. DJI builds some of the best drones on the market. Most of those use their Go app. They apparently decided that the Mini needed its own app (Fly). After waiting and waiting for a quality drone for someone on a smaller budget, DJI has answered the call! Not only is the Mavic mini's price a great reason to buy, but also its small profile makes for a great addition to any adventure photographer/videographer's arsenal. Amongst every drone in the store this one has to be one of the best if not the best. Its very capable in the wind, video looks good and so do photos, the photos in darker scenarios are really nice, not too dark off the bat and exposure is adjustable, range is nice , it fits in most if not all of my pockets, its super light and under 250g so you dont have to register to the FAA as a drone pilot so you can just take it out and fly it out of the box... It's not for serious aerial videographer and,or photographer, but it's good enough for casual use. I own DJI Inspire and Mavic Pro and been through several Phantoms, but I don't mind to use this Mini for a quick shot. I was so happy to receive my mini I charged up the batteries remote and went to Fly and was grounded by the software Boooooo. But I understand why it has to be this way. I drove to a location not far from the no fly zone and I was amazed with how good this little baby flies. After getting the Mini, I tried downloading the DJI-Fly. I couldn't find the app on Google play but eventually found it directly on the Web. Installation failed multiple times and eventually I contacted DJI support only to be told that my phone (HTC) was not supported. Did I miss this from the B&H page? Dear Everybody; While you are waiting for your package, review all the UTube videos. They are VERY informative and will save you lots of time and help from causing any unnecessary damage to the Mini. Also, if you should do any firmware upgrades to your unit, be sure to use a fresh fully charged battery. After all upgrades are completed, take battery out of unit and do a full reboot. The drone is light. Its so light you will feel if you press it hard it will break but its made well. The battery feels heavy. So how does it fly. Indoor it flys really really well. The reaction of the controls are great. You just need to make very finite movement and you will see it reacting very well. Outdoor I did not get a chance to fly a lot but it does well outside too. I got it for my trip to Vietnam because I didn't want to risk taking my Mavic Pro and possibly lose it or have it confiscated. Moreover, the Mavic Mini is so much easier to travel with. I have owned several drones, including the DJI Mavic and Spark. The Mavic 'Mini' offers all the features of these higher priced drones, at a reasonable price. $499 and you'll have everything that you need - more battery life (3 batteries - each realistically providing roughly 24 minutes of flight time), a very reliable remote (my DJI Spark would constantly lose connection to the DJI Go Fly app through my iPhone), and better propeller protection. ... Get DJI refresh kit for $39
The fly more combo is well worth the cost. The refresh kit is also a must - for $39 its cheap insurance for easy and less expensive repairs/replacement. Pros are not likely to buy this model which means your more likely to have a crash. You can buy the refresh kit later - but its a much bigger hassle as you have to make a detailed video to get it.
