I previously used a 2014 MacBook Pro (i7 2.2 GHz, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB Storage) and compared to that, I noticed the following: 1. Keyboard is noiser and though the travel is less it is not bad. 2. Fast as the dickens
Not only was I able to clone from my CCC backup to this new computer with CCCs clear and personal directions without issues, but 95% of the configurations were ported. The Security/Privacy System preferences were not preserved, but once I knew the issue on some of my 3rd party apps, it took just a few minutes to reconfigure. Like my old 17 better
I like this, but I dont love it. In an effort to make everything better, I think they have gone too far. I guess Ill get used to it. I hate that I the track pad acts of its own accord sometimes... I have my thumb over it, not touching it, and it changes the screen. If you learned to type rather than hunt and peck, your left thumb if over the pad... not good. Mediocre computer
Ordering and delivery from B&H was great. Replacing a mid 2012 MacBook Pro Retina that recently died. I had high expectations that my new computer would be significantly better but soon realized the reviews slamming the plastic feeling keyboard are correct. Great workstation laptop, terrible keyboard
I had a 2014 also from B&H, which has been fantastic except for the lack of memory - I run many virtual machines and Docker for a virtual data center on the laptop and I end up in swap with which is a bit slow with the older SSD model. I am a pro filmmaker and this machine has good speed, which is important, but it only has 4 thunderbolt usb3 C ports, which is totally inadequate. You have to buy 3rd party adaptors and they are all , after plug in, slower than the usb c ports. Very Poor Design!
First of all they changed from having a magnetized power connection to a small, hard to plugin connection. Magnetized was much easier to plug in and out, and if youre a klutz like me and trip over your power cord it would unplug without taking the computer with it! A great product at an amazing
Cant think of anything to complain about with this computer. Ive been an Apple fan since 2012 when I bought my first 15 MacBook Pro. Never had an issue and only upgraded RAM and replaced the battery. Before buying this MacBook, I did a lot of research! I was trying to decide between the last model and this model. Due to the type of work that I will be using it for it was important that I had certain specs with this computer. After doing my research I found B&H to have what I was looking for $1200 less than any other competitor. I received the computer in 3 days. So far the computer has exceeded my expectations and Im very happy about this, not to mention saving the amount of money as well. Id recommend this site and company to everyone that I know. may be the weakest model Ive ever had in 23 years of apple
Being a mac user for 23 years, and assiduous customer with regard to switching computers every 4 years. maybe this laptop was the one that surprised me the least. I confess that I expected more and better. The keyboard is super vulnerable, the trackpad is larger but less accurate. And I honestly think there should be a 15-inch model with no touch bar as it exists with 13 inches. The model I had before was a 15-inch, A1398 i7 2.7Ghz and 16Gb ram 512Gb SSD, and 4 years later, regarding performance, I do feel little difference compared to this model.This time there is no kudos to apple.

Sleek, light and fast
Although it seems like I could put a downpayment on a house for what the higher end Apple Laptops cost, during the holidays B&H had a great deal on this MBP. My only question so far is that the fan seems to engage more often than I thought it would when I am working on a relatively low power activity, but I understand that the I9 chip runs hot because of the speed and it is not a huge distraction. This MBP is fast, photos and videos process quickly and it is light. I think the issues with the keyboard have also been resolved. So far I love it. You definitely get what you pay for!

Excellent price, outstanding shipping
I was a bit skeptical about ordering the computer from Texas, but the shipping was fast, and the box was well protected. I have been trying the product for about one day (after having an XPS 13 and Thinkpad X1 Carbon) and I would say that the quality is a little better. Personally, I like they keyboard (better than the XPS, not as good as the Thinkpad). The key-travel is pretty low, but I got used to it pretty quick, however, your mileage may vary. I needed a powerful Unix-based system for my work, specially the 32GB of RAM for virtualization. Everything working good so far!

Upgrade from Mid-2012
The new 2018 MBP is amazingly fast, sleek and ultra light. I bought a usb-c hub that has ports to connect my usb external hard drive, usb printer and an HDMI port for an external monitor so no problems connecting old devices to this new MBP. The touchbar is great as it adapts to whatever program I am running. The keyboard is a massive improvement from the Mid-2012 version i previously had. The touch pad is unnecessarily huge and jumps a bit so i had to play around with the track settings before getting it right. No real problems there either. Very pleased with it overall.

Good product. Disappointing return policy.
Yes, it was my fault. I bought the model with 512SSD when I should have ordered the 1TB model. It was only after the local Apple guru discovered the limited space and had broken the seal on the unit to load the information from the old unit to the new one, that I called B&H to discover my options. The option was, there was no option once the seal was broken. The staff member was professional, but the broken seal effective cancelled any possibility for a return. Yes, it was my fault. Word of advice, you should read all the return policies BEFORE placing the order. Thanks.

Replaced my early 2011 MacBook Pro 15
First, B&H is wonderful. Paid approximately $500 less than waking down to the Apple store, the only option in my town. They shipped express and all is good. I really like the new machine although just getting used to it. Heard lots of complaints about the new keyboard but I love it. The larger touch pad will take getting used to. It is possible to skew your typing by getting on top of the larger pad. I can deal. Love the smaller footprint and lighter weight. The old MBP 15 w/backup machine really got old hauling around when on the road. Anyway, so far so good.

keyboard issues, battery issues
I got a great macbook pro, specdhigher than I thought Icouldafford because of greatbhphotodeals. The battery runsout after lessthan3 hoursoflight use. Andim leavving alllthetypos in to illustrate the issues with the keyboard. Thespace keyrarelyworksthefirst time.At first i thought. i mustbetouching thetrackpadbut I am. now being very careful. The space bar requires an extremely heavy touch to work. Often requiring one to slow down, backup and rehit the space bar. After I finish writing this review Im going to see if I am still within the return window.

Fast, Powerful & Much Improved Keyboard
I purchased this unit as a replacement for my 2016 MacBook Pro. The keyboard is much improved over the first iteration and types smoothly. That was my number one complaint about the 2016 unit. The system is powerful and the i9 Hex Core and graphics are noticeably faster. My only issue is that this model consistently has problems recognizing my two LG screens. I have to unplug and replug the second monitor for it to work. Annoying but not a deal breaker. B&H had a great price on the unit after their markdowns and it was a great deal. Thanks guys.

Amazing Deal!!
I am a video editor and I was looking to upgrade from the 2011 machine that had long been outdated for the work I was doing. Then about a month ago, It crashed on me for good. I was devastated, as this is my only means for my livelihood. I scored the Internet for weeks for a Black Friday deal, but deals on Apple products are really hard to come by. If it werent for this discount, I wouldnt have been able to get the machine I needed, and would have had to look at shutting down my business. Price,support and reability
I think that was a good relation cost x benefits Bh has a lot of machines with good prices that you cannot find in other stores. I bought a brand new notebook (even that is 2018) for US 700 less than the 2019 model in APPLE STORE Everything with a very good assistance to help me To Decide which notebook would be the best for my use. Other good point : another notebook, that was bought at the same time for a friend of mine, had a little problem with the battery charging. It was returned and changed to a new one in less than 5 minutes !!!!

Superb
This is a vast improvement over my old computer, providing me with an esthetically pleasing, sleek device capable of eclipsing any and all competitors in terms of speed, capacity, and ease of use. Its durable and versatile -- and it scorches. The criticisms Ive read seem childish and petty, and Im happy to say that Ive found them to be baseless besides. And btw: B&H is excellent - swift delivery, great selection, knowledgeable support, and more than reasonable prices. You get what you pay for, and in this case, thats satisfaction. Bravo.

Screen has green and red streaks
Opened the box, unwrapped it, turned it on. Green and red streak down the left middle of the screen and at the bottom of the screen. Now I am seeing that B&H doesnt allow returned computers?!? What am I supposed to do with a broken computer? And if they do let me return the laptop... I have to pay to send this broken computer back to them?!? I hope that is not the case... They are closed for the weekend I guess, so I am out while waiting for this to get fixed. Thought the price was worth it but it isnt when I get sent a broken computer.

Powerful device
Six cores @2.6 have real power. Most notable change is the nvme SSD which move data fast as 3.2 gigabytes/sec as opposed to a classic SSDs 540 megabyte/sec. Memory speed doubled with the new DDR4 memory. I use it for development, mostly xcode, netbeans, windows 10 in parallels - all at the same time. No lagging - no hiccups - nothing. Raw power. I even was able to connect my 3 additional Monitors with a simple USB3 to displayport cable, and a small Totu dock for USB, 1GB network, keyboard and charger. No more desktop needed.

Everything you need in a serious laptop
Everything is great-processor, speed, display, ssd, touchbar. I'm getting used to the shorter throw keyboard, but it feels nice and solid. Build quality is awesome and Touch ID works flawlessly. I sold my iMac as this MacBook Pro is about twice as powerful. Pricey, but worth it. The only downside is that I needed to purchase a dongle to use my usb drives. But since everything is going usb-c, this machine will continue to be relevant for many years. Very pleased. Oh and B&H is fantastic. Great prices, fast shipping. The best!
