Do it all camera if ok with larger size
I bought a Sony RX1 about 3.5 years ago when it first came out and sold off all my other camera equipment. I lived exclusively with the 35mm focal length. My son has been advancing in sports and finally I decided I needed a zoom to capture some memories. The Sony RX10 III has given me more than I bargained for. Other than it not being pocketable it has amazing photographic breadth if one wants to stay away / get away from the interchangeable lens... Show More

So far, so good.
Bought this to use as a lightweight multi purpose travel camera. I have been testing it out and am very impressed at the quality of the shots.

The most versatile exciting camera I ever used.
I have had many great other and Sony Cameras. Camcorders and the a7s and a6300, PXW X70 Camcorder. I read the reviews and learned interesting pros & cons. Then i read Ken Rockwell's review and he picked up this camera and hasn't put it down for a couple of months. It is a bridge camera. It is not a Sony a7sII or an Arri Alex. It has a one inch stacked sensor which rivals way bigger chips. 24-600mm fixed zeiss lens .2.5 to 4 all the way to 600mm. ... Show More

Light years above any other bridge camera we have reviewed! Still a bit of trouble with Macro function. I will master it.

The Best Bridge Camera with One Big Annoyance!
I expected the weight and size of this beast. I have shot with it in all light, both inside and out. The buffer does not always keep up with my shutter pushing. But that is not the worst shortcoming. It problem is typical of all of these Lens-Body All in One Cameras. I really hate the Zoom function of the lens, either with the Ring or the little lever. Framing a shot is hard to get exactly enough or a little of my view. I also have a Fujifilm X-3... Show More

Excellent Camera
Let me start out by saying that when this camera first came out I was not interested in it I was looking for Sony's full frame Alpha 99 but being 3 years old and no replacement model in sight I could not wait any longer. The 24mm-600mm lens is addictive... I'm constantly zooming in and out for sports shots, large gatherings where I cannot get up close but also need a wide angle lens. Is it in the class of a full frame A7RII ? No..then again with ... Show More

Great camera, I would buy it again.
I use it mainly for video, image is good, Zoom excellent, I also could do very nice time lapse with the App downloaded from Sony. Good quality of slow motion at 240 FPS. The camera is heavy and the Focus is not the best I had so far. If you just need a point and shoot camera and not that amount of zoom I would go of the RX 100 iv.

An Amazing Camera
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 III is an amazing camera! I am a serious photo hobbyist. I have been using a Canon 7D MarkII which has become increasingly too heavy for me. This Sony camera weighs exactly half of what my Canon DSLR with a Tamron 16-300 lens weighs yet has a wonderful Zeiss lens with a range of (35mm equivalent) 24-600. The focus is super fast and all the important controls are on the outside of the camera. It is not heavily menu dri... Show More

Sony RX10 IIIOh Yeah!
Really, it's 4 1/2 stars First of all, B&H is excellent. They answer the phone quickly and speak clearly. What's that worth? The Rx10 III is my first major camera purchase in a long time. I didn't want to have to invest many thousands of dollars on a body and lenses to do what this will do, all in one package. I'm still learning all the things it can do. Make sure that you get the right SD card if you want to shoot 4K video - UHS-IU3 compatable. ... Show More

Meets my expectations.
Price is too high but performance is high. Plan on using to photograph live performances during rehearsals and actual performances. The shutter is very quite and the photos very sharp (unless shooting at the longest telephoto range then shake is VERY EASY to achieve. Manual sucks. Sony needs to write a manual and save it in pdf format so it can be downloaded.

Great electronics and lens poor accessories
To start with, I found the camera to take magnificent pictures at all focal lengths. The pictures are crystal clear and hold great color. There is ample menu options to set the camera up for your type of shooting. I use the camera mostly for wildlife photography with an occasional family shoot in between. The camera offers wonderful versatility for both of these photo shoots. The camera is slightly heavy for it's size but the strength of the body... Show More

Not for everybody
I bought this camera to be my walk around camera for casual photos; vacations, family get togethers, etc. the fact that it has excellent movie capability is a big plus. When I received it I was surprised how big it feels and how heavy it feels in your hand. I read the specs but this camera feels bigger and heavier than what I thought. It's only a bit smaller than my Canon 7D MkII! I would rate the image quality very high considering this is a 1 s... Show More

Best for up close photos
Really happy with this camera! I wanted to capture shots of the moon, and I am able to do just that. No formal training, just playing with the settings. Love the zoom and telephoto settings. The wireless sync to my phone makes sharing photos quick and easy.

OK for travellers
Quiet click, Sharp pictures. The lowest aperture is only to 16, Hard to get smooth water falls at slow speed setting. It is slow focus to catch flying birds. Lightroom won't support Sony raw files ARW. This Gear is convenient for travelers, but it features are strict for professional photographers

Best bridge cam I've used
I've only had mine for a short time but I love what it can do. It is very heavy compared to my FZ1000 and my Canon G3X so I ditched the Sony strap, using it as a neck strap was very uncomfortable and shoulder straps tend to slip off my shoulder. Art & Artisans cross shoulder sling is perfect for distributing the weight. I have Black Rapid but prefer the two point mount of the AA straps. It's much heavier than my G3X which can't shoot continuous r... Show More

Exceeded My Expectations!!
After reading all the great reviews of this camera, I knew this camera would be perfect for vacations and while hiking. My current camera and 150-600mm lens and tripod has gotten to be too much for me. I really needed something light but with at least a 600mm zoom. My one concern about getting another bridge camera was the image quality while shooting at max zoom. I was told I would not be disappointed. I'm not. I can even hand hold the camera at the max zoom. Perfect little camera and I am very happy.

The Best Available Travel Camera
After 3 weeks of working with this camera, I'm still figuring out the various configuration optiions; others have noted the confusing mishmash of screens that make this particularly hard. I agree and would add that the documentation available from Sony is not much help. After all that griping I'm amaized at the quality of the images at low ISO settings (100-800) and the maluability of raw files which respond extremly well to post processing. I've concluded it's worth the fight to get the best from this camera.

Difficult to manipulate the aperture ring. A manual to fully describe all the features is sorely needed.

This RX10 III will meet most photographer's needs.
I have been using the RX10 III for a little over a week and have taken it on three test runs. Macro, Birds in Flight and normal use. I have found that the camera meets most of my needs with the photography that I do and will be my travel camera for cruise's and most vacation use. I will use it with my A7RII and A6300 when I go to the wetlands to do my wildlife photography. I definably recommend this camera.

I would buy this product again.
I used to carry a lot of gear when traveling and seeing new places. With this new camera, I now travel light. No more extra 2 or 3 lenses on the bag. This is such a nice addition to my gear.

Great feel in my hands. The 24-600 optical zoom has great resolution throughout the range. I am taking it on a photo safari in Kenya and leaving my Canon home.

My Vacation Companion
I earn my living shooting for advertising (www.pacomarquez.com). Every year when I go on vacation it has been a nightmare deciding which camera to take with me. I've gone from carrying one pro camera body, a 28-70 with a 70-300 to a small Panasonic with a zoom and a 50mm. Still felt uncomfortable carrying that but feeling underequiped at the same time. Then I saw B&H's video on the RX10 II and dug deeper. I was convinced this would be the camera ... Show More
