I would recommend the camera
Great camera for photography and what I like most about the camera is that I do not need to carry a massive amount of lenses.

would buy again, highly recommended
bought as backup camera. found it to be more useful. only shoot raw & aperture mode. good points are: 1. very good contrast, 2. image quality-can be gallery quality to between 14 and 19 inches, 3. focus quite fast and good - almost up to slr standards (have one image of damsel fly in flight), excellent butterfly camera, has been a good quick landscape camera, very good and easy reseting of focus point) a lot of options to set similar to slr - in ... Great Lens
This camera has a great lens with good reach for something its weight. It has become my camera of choice for hiking. I take a lot of natural history photographs where focus can be tricky and essential. This camera does not do well with that. The automatic focus is difficult, especially in an environment with multiple layers. The manual focus is slow.

Surprised !!
I had the rx100m4 but sold it due to poor focus with sports. Now the m5 came out and I was looking at that when I came across the rx10 iii. I got it at a great deal. $1100 so I gave it shot. Wow. With the kids soccer games this thing is awesome. The zoom and the slow motion is very cool. The zoom is addicting. It is a big boy so maybe I still need an rx100. $$$$ I use this more for stills and so far love the IQ. I am selling my a6000 with the sel... Show More

Review of Sony Cyber Shot RX10 iii I have been using the Sony Cyber-Shot RX10 iii for a couple of months. During that time I have taken several hundred images mainly nature and scenic shots. Frankly, I have been amazed at the quality and detail that the 1 sensor has been able to deliver. The 24 -600mm Zeiss, 35mm equivalent, lens is excellent! It delivers beautifully sharp images, right out to 600mm with good color and reasonable bokeh. The actua... Show More

amazing lens
I just took some photos and look amazingly sharp using all the 600mm zoom, and the functionality is good, except for some issues like the viewfinder its not accurate enough to know if I focus the objective well, but the focus assist helps with this issue.

From skeptical to impressed
I borrowed a RX10-III and was skeptical about shooting with a sensor that small (2.7 crop factor which is about 1/2 of the APS-C format), but i was really impressed with the results. The AF is not as good as the Sony aSeries (like the a6000) but with the reach of that lens, it is understandable. Up until now, my a6000+SELP18105G was my go-to rig for people photography and events... now i am having second thoughts. I have done Model shoots, Weddings and nature photography with the RX10-III and I am having a hard time returning it to its owner. See attached images.

Exceeded expecations
I have Sony's A7R2, A6300, A6000, RX10-2 and now the RX10-3. I used the RX10-3 5 days ago for an outdoor wedding reception that ran from sunlight to poorly lit darkness. We shoot both stills and video. The RXs are great video cameras but also impressed us with stills especially when we wanted to head hunt from a distance. With video we shoot some 4K but mainly 1080 60P @1/120 shutter for the ability to convert to slow motion. The control layout f... Show More

Worth the money in build and image quality!
As a semi-pro who does some freelance video and still work, I am loving this camera. It replaces a Sony VG30. The RX10M3 is much more user friendly and more comfortable in hand held mode than the 30. It has the heft of a serious DSLR without the need for a bunch of separate lenses. This 600mm built in zoom is pleasingly fast and the stills and video look great. Haven't tried 4K yet but am anxious to. A big plus is the external mic and audio monitoring ability not found on many if any other entries in its class.

Everyone shocked that I bought an all in one bridge camera
I shoot with a Nikon D4 primarily, so this is a big change for me to use. I bought it specifically to use on a 4 day trip to the Circuit of the Americas racetrack and it did not disappoint. The package strikes the right balance of heft and feel. It seems very well built. It's never going to replace my pro SLR, as the speed and features, but it did meet or even exceed my expectations for image quality given the size.

Excellent - the Swiss Army Knife of Cameras
This camera is the prefect compromise between DSL and point-and-shoot. It is a little on the heavy side, but no need to carry several lens around with you. Excellent quality photos, so it is hard to figure out how this camera can be improved upon in the future?

Bad Usability But Amazing Vids
So when this first arrived I almost wanted to send it back just because of the interface and feel in hand. However after I started comparing Images and videos to other cameras I've owned like the GH4 It started to warm on me. Hard to believe it's a 1 sensor as every video I took (4k only) out performed my GH4 with a Panasonic12-35mm lens and 100-300mm Lens. Pics were a draw though. Here are some of the pro's and cons as I see it from a Video firs... Show More

Video gets short changed
My experience with the RX10 iii reinforced everything I probably should have known about the difference between a camcorder and a camera. I'm a professional videographer - not a photographer, and not a filmmaker. I wanted a sidekick that could also fill a niche or two in event coverage that I do. My pro camcorders are bulky, and weigh well over 5-pounds apiece. They don't lend themselves to being slung over the shoulder everywhere you go for thos... Show More

Don't Leave Home Without It
I keep it in the car at all times. When I'm not on a pro shoot and that ah man, no camera moment happens, this does the job very well. Not overpriced, IMO.

Awesome camera
Perfect for daylight photography. Very good for low light also especially if you can manage to shoot at low ISO. Not bad Bokeh at all... Excellent addition to the kit.

Amazingly Good Images
Like any camera, the number of stars that it deserves really depends on how well it fits your own particular needs and this one fits mine very well. Ive been shooting with Nikon DSLRs since the D70 (and film SLRs since way before then) and I dont intend to give them up. But my fully loaded bag weighs over 20 pounds and there are some less demanding situations where I dont need that level of gear. Think of family pictures, vacation photos, etc. So... Show More

Excellent camera, excellent IQ!
I have an RX100 and an a6000, and this RX10 brings something new - almost all of those two in one camera and more. DP review wondered why you'd want a 600mm lens...yes, for the reach, but also for the macro. This lens at 600mm is about all you need for beautifully sharp excellent macros, and you put a little distance between the camera and the butterflies (or whatever). Wide angle? Beautiful! The camera is heavier than the a6000 with, say, the So... Show More

Went shopping for telephoto lens and bought this camera
I wanted a 600 mm lens for a Nikon D4s, but after a suggestion, I reviewed this camera, bought it (remembering B&H return policy) and ended up keeping it. The camera produces great images, very easy to use and VERY flexible in so many cases. For nearly the same amount of money that I would have spent for a high quality Tamron 600 mm lens, I got a complete system with a fixed lens that covers slightly wide angle to long zoom. What's Not To Like?
You wanna buy a bridge? Well, this one is a no-brainer. Took me a while to pull the trigger on this because of the high price but the quality of the resulting images will leave you with no buyer's remorse. The extra 400mm of zoom reach over its predecessor (RX10ii) alone is worth the extra cash. This should be a great vacation camera and I'll soon find out as this will accompany me to New Zealand in 2 weeks. Highly recommended!

Amazing at some things, good at most, & a few minor issues.
I'm about to take the RX10iii on an African safari, so having a weather resistant, do everything, 2.5 lb package is much more appealing than an a6300 body + 4.5lbs Sigma 150-600 + adapters + other lenses. While recently testing in low light, I got some pretty good footage at an indoor bluegrass concert, including zooming (handheld) in around 400mm to a standup bass, filming at 480fps - slowing down the string vibration was very cool... 4K and 108... I've been a Nikon man since I bought my first F in Nam. I looked down on anyone who shot with anything else. After I retired I got a part time job working in a camera store and we sold Nikon, Canon and Sony. Well I started playing around with the Sony's and began to like them. When it was time to upgrade my Nikon stuff I was one of the victims of the oily sensor problems. I was shocked to see how little Nikon was doing to help us so I decided to ... Show More

RX 10 iii
This camera has a super sharp lens, better than many top of the line DSLRs, with expensive lenses. They seem to have fixed many of the problems with their notorious menu system. I found it much more intuitive than other Sony models, and I think that the customizable buttons are excellent.
