Shure MX393/C Microflex Cardioid Boundary Microphone
UPC's:
All the Way Around Great Sound
I use this microphone when I am shooting more then two on screen talents. It eliminates the need to mic each person individually and from having to precisely position a boom mic. I have used this mic to record 3 and four people sitting around a table and was very happy with the quality of the sound. Obviously, the person closest to the mic sounds the best but the quality of the people the furthest from the mic was very good with very minimal fall off. I would highly recommend this mic.

A Good Mike
I am not an expert on mikes, but we decided to spend a bit more on a mike for the altar at our church. The mike seems to work quite well as expected. The only thing that was disappointing is what I had understood was an on/off switch. It is not really a switch at all. It is more like a mute button that has its effect ONLY if you are holding it down.

Great in a pinch.
I've given this mic 4 out of 5 stars because of course you'd want a dedicated mic for anything truly important, and this omni-directional mic is not, by nature, a dedicated mic. But it works great for groups of people when there are not enough mics to go around. I use it for depositions and conference style recording and it works great.

I would buy this product again.
. We use this PZM mic to record conferences. . The great part about it is that the audio range can be modified from cariod to directional - can come in handy for large meetings. . This mic seems to handle ambient noise better than the average PZM . Not so great, seems a little complicated to change auiod range.

Simple, rugged, sounds great
I'm using this microphone with a portable digital recorder, and the combo is great. This mic is typical of Shure products; it's rugged and sounds great. This model is the omnidirectional version - I also have a couple MX393/C which have a cardioid pattern.

Does a good job
Used to record government meetings. Sound quality and pick-up depends on the room, but these are unobtrusive and work better than the gooseneck mics with a cardioid pattern we were using. One caveat - needs phantom power source (48V)

Works like a charm
We use two of these in a conference room with a video conferencing system. They are placed at two points on the conference table and pick up all conversations no matter which direction the participant is talking.

Would recommend to a friend
Used mainly for theatrical productions in a school auditorium with young children. Easy to determine mic placement and quite unobtrusive.

Works great
We use the mic in a room with about 30 other same mics for an interactive college classroom.
