Too complex menue
Sent this one back. The menu and manual were too obtuse to follow. I've been a pro photographer for over forty years and this confounded me. I just wanted a handy fun camera to keep on hand for enjoyment but it proved too overly complex. Ergonomically not great to hold either. Alot of camera in a small package but buttons are touchy. A point and shoot doesn't have to be dumbed down but it needn't be over loaded . I would love to consult on a vers... Show More

Great travel camera. Great price!
This camera has a LOT on it. In fact there is so much that I bought a book specifically written for this camera. Good detail in most photos. I have to work on getting detail of birds flying using the zoom. Im giving it 4 stars because everything is not intuitive. Perhaps it is because my last two cameras were Canons and I was familiar with them. Turning it on and off requires the use of fingernails because of the small space.

ZS100 - Yumm
Okay - this is my third Lumix pocket camera. I use a Sony RX10 IV and a couple Nikon DSLRs for business. This one is pretty easy to navigate (of course there are more options than I can figure out) to get nice, images. I had to look around to activate the iZoom and/or Digital Zoom options, but they work fine. I'm just starting to edit a couple events. I use this for my heavy ProBono load - ha! With a belt case, it is easy to pick out the camera and shoot. So far, it is terrific. I'll post more info in the future.

Travel Light
This small camera has so many features packed inside. Maybe too many for some, but for an experienced photographer welcome. I had a small compact from a few years ago that was really only decent for outdoors shooting. This one has a much better sensitivity to lower lighting. There is menu access to change iso easily. The small viewfinder is enough to compose through. I also like the built in wi-fi, makes transferring images to phone easy. The manual that comes with the camera isnt so good, but the online 400 page one is much better.

Great service
Camera arrived in good condition and promptly as promised. Nice camera, will probably perform better when I learn to use it properly.

Great camera at a reasonable price
Pros: excellent photos at low light, good telephoto capabilities, well built, incredible versatile (the advanced user manual is over 400 pages). The only camera that I would have chosen is the compact SONY which was 2-3 times the cost of this camera. Cons: a little large for a pocket point and shoot camera.

Not as good as reviews lead me to believe - images are soft
6 years ago I bought a Lumix FZ200 which was surprisingly good. The image quality was beyond my expectations until I accidentally dropped it several years ago. It was never the same after that, even after servicing, so I recently decided to replace it with the ZS100 since I wanted a smaller travel camera. After a week of testing, I have sent it back due to the soft lens (lack of crisp focus) and poor color accuracy, especially with reds and blues... Show More

Excellent portable to add to your collection
Loaded with features that you'd expect on a much more expensive camera, this small form factor camera can be tweaked by you to capture pictures you'd expect to see only in larger and more expensive equipment. I forget it's capability until I import my shots into Lightroom for cleanup and review - and many of the pictures just come alive because of the larger CMOS. You can pay more for a camera in this category - but it's hard to imagine that you'd get more.

Feature packed small camera
I bought this to be my weekday camera while using my Canon 90D as my weekend camera. The ZS100 seems to have even more features that the Canon 90D! Make sure you download the complete 400 page user manual for the ZS100 and study it. The printed manual included with the camera is only 68 pages long. As another reviewer mentioned, you need to be aware of the buttons on the back of the camera and the many, many menu selections.

So many options in such a tiny box
I have used mainly the Ai and P settings as we are still exploring the many features of our new camera. Will be better acquainted with it after using it longer. So far we are very happy with it.

Excellent point and shoot
I bought this for my daughter, and she just fell in love with it. She said that the pictures it takes are awesome, and has no problem for large print of 18x24. She also said that she wouldn't want to use cell phone for any meaningful picture, because this camera is easy to carry in her purse.

Bought the DMC-ZS100 just in time for back packing trip.
I Bought the DMC-ZS100 just in time for back packing trip.My wife and I backpacked the Wonderland Trail circumventing Mt. Rainier. What an awesome place. Now I am at home and reliving every minute with terrific video and photos, about 1200 photos. This is my third Lumix. I love the great Zooms and low light features. This new one has a great flash that fills great against strong sunlight from behind subject. Very Happy I made the purchase and had... Show More

NOT a Point and Shoot Travel Camera
Great pictures and many features. However a trusty point and shoot travel camera it is NOT. We purchased the ZS100 to take on a two-week trip to Europe. Set the camera on auto and took off. Soon discovered there was no way to handle the camera without inadvertently activating some feature on the very sensitive touch screen. This meant lost shots or several minutes trying to get things back to auto. So, I deactivated the touch screen. Then h... Show More

Surprisingly sharp
Its small and yes, to use it vertically gets a little clumsy, at least to me, lefthanded. Every other features are awesome, nice color, incredibly sharp until middle zoom, at full zoom its just ok but still above average. Does not have a lens cover to loose, this its wonderful but beware: if you put it in your front pocket of a jeans for example, be careful with other stuff in the same pocket, it may damage the curtain that closes the lens ( as I did with my Iphone but managed to fix it myself). It has tenths of features, takes a lifetime to learn them all.

Got tired of carrying the SLR and lenses everywhere
The camera takes excellent pictures and were I not coming from using an SLR all my life would probably warrant a 5-star rating. I picked this over the new ZS200 for a bit more aperture and am glad of the choice and the savings. There are so many settings as to boggle the mind and the 406 page (not kidding) pdf manual could stand some improvement, but the camera is solid, the results are good and it's extremely portable. I suspect it will be durable and will see a lot of use.

Great in sunshine - EXCELLENT 5MP quality
I thought I needed a compact travel camera to replace my Lumix GM5, something better than a smartphone. After spending one day shooting photos in overcast conditions the photos dissapointed, slow F numbers and high ISO = mushy photos. You must be prepared to compromise on these super zooms, but I wasn't. But when reducing resolution to 5 MP, the photos are quite good. Really 20 MP in a 1 sensor means pixel size is 2.4 m. That's just too tiny, not... Show More

Defective product - wont honor warranty
Bought this as a Christmas gift for my husband. One week into our vacation - the camera stopped working. Obviously still under warranty - so sent into the factory service center. They informed me that the unit had water damage that was not covered under warranty. I explained to them that I had never exposed the unit to water, and there was nothing I did that could have caused the damage, but they responded that they would be HAPPY to send me a new unit for $363.37 plus shipping and taxes ...... I will never buy another product from Panasonic again.

Big features, small package
Im more than pleased with the ZS100. Handsome, gun metal gray and silver. Jacket pocket sized camera with a viewfinder to compose AND view your images if caught out in the bright sun. It zooms from 24mm to 250 (see uncropped photos), and the image stabilization is very good. Controls are easy to get to, menus not hard to use. Full manual and all the other modes. Pants pocket probably not, jacket pocket absolutely. Battery life is quite good, but ... Show More

Power in a small package
I bought this camera to meet the rules of Russia travel. (Small, non professional, not full frame, limited to 250 mm lens) I have read the manual and taken some images. The lens and camera are well paired and the quality is remarkable. It is one of the few cameras in its class that will shoot raw. It is a good but not as good as my D850. Thanks for BH advisor who steered me in its direction.

Auto works very good, it picks the same setting as if I would use it in manel mode. Small, compact and 10x zoom with a qin chip. Does all Md more then I need. Picture quality first rate for such a small camera.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100 digital camera
I got this for my wife for Christmas. She really likes it. The biggest thing going for it is the large sensor, which enables very good photos. (quality photos in a compact camera) ..and one feature I like is that you can use either the lcd screen or the view finder for taking photos. She goes for the screen and I the view finder. In taking photos outside in bright lighting, the view finder rules when the lcd screen is hard to see. Takes very good... Show More

ZS-100 Travel Cam
I own a G-85 and G-7, with multiple lenses from 7-14,12-35 f2.8 to 100-400. They are my cameras and lenses of choice for photo trips. However, there are times when I travel with my spouse and I cant be lugging a lot of gear and changing lenses. Those are not photo specific trips. So, I need a camera thats unobtrusive, with an adequate zoom range and a viewfinder. The ZS-100 fills the bill nicely. I realize that at the long end the images are not ... Show More

Just What I Needed
I needed a compact, semi-professional camera for a recent trip, and the Lumix DMC-ZS100 met all of my requirements. One feature that I personally found particularly useful was the electronic view-finder. While not the most robust camera that I have owned, it is well made, with excellent fit and finish.
