Rugged and Dependable
I take pictures, I download pictures to my iPhone easily with the built in WiFi and I use this camera all the time everywhere I go. All I carry with me is a spare battery and a charger and I am good to go. I reformat the card after every download while I am traveling. Simple and fast. The camera so far has proved rugged and well and truly dust and rain proof. Picture quality is fine for my use, I am an amateur and I post on a blog and Instagr... Show More

Photography bliss
I consider myself an amateur photographer, but the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ 300's capability makes me look like a professional with a DSLR. It is that good! The extensive list of features far surpasses any camera I have previously owned (including SLR) for about the same price. The sharpness, clarity and overall quality of my photography is in the exceptional range even with the 1/2.3 sensor. Because I particularly like to photograph nature, I am b... Show More

All that I expected.
So far, It's been great to use. I've started with the 20, 50, 200 and now the 300. All have been a great improvement over the last. As I'm just getting used to the features it's a little early to make a final evaluation. If there was anything that seemed clunky was the side dial for manual focus. I find it hard to get a real clear focus, especially hand holding the camera. Turning on Peaking helps. I might improve as time goes by. One thing I dis... Show More

A nice walk around camera
This is a nice upgrade from the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200 Digital Camera with a clearer & biggerviewfinder and quicker focus response in dim lights. Its the same 12MP sensor and a 25-600mm F2.8 Leica lens but adds a new image processor, weather-sealing and 4K video support. In addition to capturing 4K/UHD video at 30p, the FZ300 can also grab high quality 8MP stills using its special 4K Photo mode. Wi-Fi is also built-in. The sensor size is only1... Show More

Better image quality than a Sony A6000 with kit lens
This Panasonic FZ300 is unbelievable the Leica lens with its f.2.8 lens all the way up to 600mm would cost thousands on a SLR I don't miss the A6000 large sensor (sold to get the FZ300 hated swapping lens and a backpack full of lens) as long as I keep it at 100 ISO up till 400 ISO the f2.8 lens more than makes up for the smaller sensor in low light situations but the sharp lens is we're this camera wins and macro an all in one camera can't be bea... Best Concert Camera Available
For years, I have sneaked cameras into concerts and never been caught once. As a result, I have some excellent photos of many artists over the years. I have used all the models of Panasonic FX-series zoom cameras due to their compactness and feature set. Since the 600mm with f/2.8 models came along, I have had success with them. They handle well in low light, have good stabilization for handheld shooting and can operate without alerting security... Show More

Great for the naturalist
Terrific camera that does a little of everything quite well. Excellent macro at 600mm allows you to capture butterflies and dragonflies without scaring them. 600mm f2.8 lens gathers plenty of light to keep iso low to minimize noise which every small sensor will give you. Autofocus is remarkably quick enough to capture low flying swallows against a blue sky. Trying to follow them in the viewfinder (which is excellent by the way) will test your pat... Show More

Nice upgrade
I have had several of Panasonic's FZ series of super-zoom cameras. The FZ300 is my latest and replaces my FZ200. Although there are a lot of similarities, the FZ300 is the better camera. I'm an engineer, so I run objective tests on my cameras. I would rate the FZ300 as being one full stop better on noise than the FZ200. So ISO 1600 is full printable at 8.5' x 11" if you set the in-camera settings properly. In addition I gained a more comfortable ... Show More

Just what I wanted: long zoom, weatherproof.
Nature, travel, and family photos, probably in that order. I carried a backup, weatherproof camera on every trip for several years. The FZ300 makes that unnecessary. Image quality is about what you'd expect from this size sensor. The zoom is very useful for wildlife. I am not sure what turns on macro focusing. Manual focusing is great: you have a one-push get-started help, picture in picture, and focus peaking. Focusing is fast and accurate. It i... Show More

Very Nice Camera
I ordered this camer for a future trip. Wanted to travel light but still have the luxury of having wide angle and telephoto options. This camera fits my needs exactly. The Leica lens is very nice and having F2.8 through the entire lens range is very nice. Photos have turned out very well and the video is much better than I ever thought it would be. Not sure about battery life but I always have a spare on hand on trips so I don't think that wi... Show More

Happy buyer....
I spent time and researched for a good all around camera for nature photography - I shoot birds and macro flowers, so needed both ends of spectrum. It was between the fz1000 vs fz300. I have not used the fz1000 & here's why. The fz300 gives me the reach and speed I need for wildlife, the protection from weather, and great functionality in all other regards. I did a trial run & bought a used one first, from B&H and fell in love. I returned it due ... Show More

I have the DMC-DZ200 now as a back up and use my new DMC-FZ300 as #1 in shooting. It is really wonderful with many new features. It's like having a special computer inside my camera. They give you a basic print out to start using your camera but it comes with a 350+ pages CD that tells you so much about this fantastic camera. I have reviewed 50+ pages so far and so much more to learn about this camera. The zoom is outstanding. I have taken photos... Show More

Exceeds Expectations
I have used the FZ5,FZ150 and FZ200 before making this purchase. They were all good choices in their time. But the FZ300 is a big leap forward over the FZ200. The lens is the same as the FZ220(a good thing) but the ergonomics are much better, the button placements improved, the EVF is fantastic and the software greatly enhanced. Autofocus is fast. Having used Panasonic equipment for years, stepping up was an easy transition. I would note that Pan... Show More

Extraordinary high quality camera that offers so much
I am a Nikon D300 user who usually takes several lenses and more along on my journeys. I decided to downsize and try this style of camera during an upcoming trip. I have been blown away by the camera's image quality, versatility and ease of use. The digital viewfinder is excellent, and is why I went with this brand over others. Also a plus is the ability to attach 52mm filters to the lens. Even though the pop-up flash has low output, when used wi... Show More

Not as good as the FZ200 - images not crisp
6 years ago I bought a Lumix FZ200 which was surprisingly good. The image quality was beyond my expectations and continued to be so until I accidentally dropped it. It was never the same after that, even after servicing, so I recently decided to replace it with the FZ300. After a week of testing, I have sent it back due to the soft lens. This seems to be a common problem based on forums I have read. I want clear images from the standard settings ... Show More

Well worth the upgrade from the FZ200
Quite a camera. The single most important improvement from its predecessor the FZ200 is the cursor button lock. On the FZ200 it is so easy to accidentally change white balance or ISO by unintentionally hitting one of the cursor buttons. The FZ300 has a way of easily locking/unlocking these keys via a function button assignment. Also, the new FZ300 has a thumb rest so the user is far less likely to bump those keys by accident anyhow. A great travel camera
I use Pentax DSLR, and have been using the FZ300 since it came out a few months ago. It is lightweight and compact, takes 52mm filters, and weatherproof. Those are all good. But the camera feels fragile to me, since I am used to the solidly built body, dials and buttons of my Pentax DSLR. The dials are poorly made. Glad I bought the extended warranty. This is such a nice camera, but they should not have mounted a motor mechanism for going from wide to tele. This is just a waste of the small battery, and also, gets in the way of composing the frame. A manual zoom would have been so much better.

Lumix FZ300 - Great all in one camera
I am a hobbyist photographer, and mostly enjoy taking pictures of nature, landscapes, animals, car shows, etc. I also own a Fuji XE-1 mirrorless camera and a Nikon D3300 DSLR. Both of these APS-C sensor cameras are capable of much better image quality than the FZ300, but at a MUCH higher cost when you factor in the cost of lenses. For screen use and for 5 by 7 prints, the Lumix is just so much fun to use and the image quality is really very good considering the small sensor size. The Lumix shoots 4K video, focuses incredibly fast, and is just generally a great camera.

Good Camera for Outdoor Adventure Travel
I've used an FZ-200 for years in Antarctica, the Arctic and other remote places and have some amazing photos. The FZ-300 has many improved features and the same great optics. The FZ-300 has the same long telephoto reach, 24x, but provides WiFi connectivity, 4K photo-burst capture, touch screen, and time-interval recording. I particularly value the improved body design that provides extra splash and dust resistance. The weight of the camera is relatively low, making for easier packing and travel. The camera is moderately priced which makes it a great overall value.

Meets my expectations
Ive been shooting with the FZ200 for the past four years and love that camera, but after much use and abuse, I needed a new camera. I almost pulled the trigger on a mirrorless, but after analyzing my personal style and needs, I chose the FZ300. Its similar to my FZ200 but definitely upgraded. Its a great travel and hiking camera giving me the ability to go from capturing a wide angle landscape image to zooming in on wildlife in mere seconds. No need to change lenses. So far, Im loving this camera and cant wait to dive into all the features available.

Great value
I bought this as a second to my GH4 for video, but I'm very impressed the FZ300's abilities as a still camera. I've taken grab shots that are super sharp and clear. The lens and image stabilization are top quality for the price. The 4K video is MP4 format, but it looks good against the GH4 when editing in Premiere. Nearly a deal killer is the fact that the SDXC card is hidden in the battery compartment so I have to remove the camera from the tripod to access the card. Not good. You can't beat this cam for capturing good 4K video for such a low price.
