Still excellent in late 2019
Study this camera. It is excellent! Many features, awesome macro, high data rates (422, 10 bit output at HDMI) and very sharp. One of the best bridge cameras ever made.

Glad I got it!
Have used it on a trip to Scotland and worked great. Picky but would rather have CPL than ND and a little more reach like my G3X. Overall very happy as I like LUMIX. Great carry around camera.

Swiss army knife of cameras but warranty problems.
Swiss army knife of cameras. I bought this to take pictures on vacation where I need a decent zoom and do YouTube videos. It has everything I need for that. I read reviews that other point and shoots produce better pictures but this is a hundred times better than my old Cannon AS650 and Im not submitting anything to National Geographic. My big problem is trying to get the extended warranty. The Panasonic site froze after I hit submit to upload ev... Show More

It works just like I thought I would
I purchased this camera after reviewing the professional opinions of the FZ2500. I primarily use it for youtube videos and picture for thumb nails. I upgraded from the Fz300 which did a fine job to be sure. However there is visual difference in the video and pictures. I am still learning the all the controls however while at the PGA show in Orlando, the auto mode on the ND filter was a definite plus. I have used this for 6 months and have ... Show More

Great camera for gimbal video use
I purchased this because my main run n gun video cam, Panasonic DVX200, is too big for gimbal/stabilizer use. Its got a lot of the same guts as the big cam, but in a tidy package with an awesome built in stabilizer. Very happy with it so far. I purchased this on another website and saved fifty bucks, but it took twice as long to arrive and was hassled over the phone. It wasnt worth the money I saved. Just buy it here.

Great Bridge camera
I love this camera. I put my thoughts about it in a review video which I posted on YouTube. Here is the link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MA6HGbjdg_c All my thoughts, as well as samples of photos and videos (including 4K) can be found there.

Panasonic service not great
After about 7 months, the HDMI port which I use for an external monitor, gave out. I sent it to Panasonic (still under warranty) and they said nothing wrong with it. They said its my cable. The cable works with my other Panasonic DSLRs. I have changed the cable and it still does not work. Going forward, I will be looking at other manufacturers products.

Improved over DMC-FZ1000
In 2006 I got a Panasonic Lumix FZ30 in 2006 and it was excellent. Its features seemed straightforward and simple and easy to use. I especially liked the manual zoom feature. After several years the sensor developed spots and I got an FZ200. The FZ200 had a motor-driven zoom and was generally a disappointment. Zoom and focus tended to overshoot, making fine control difficult. In 2014 I got an FZ1000 which was acceptable but still had the motor-dr... Show More

Worth the price
I'm in between a professional and amateur photographer/videographer. I purchased the FZ2500 for travel, rather then bringing my video and Nikon cameras. So far I'm impressed with the video results and IMO the stills are very good. You will need to read the manual several times to understand all what this camera can do. The manual is well organized and takes you step by step. What made swayed me to purchase the FZ2500: Good price point... Show More

Great upgrade to FZ1000
I usually work with 3 FZ1000s. One fell in a swimming pool and I paid Panasonic money to find out that it was dead and not to be revived. I was going to buy another and but decided to go for the FZ2500 because it's basically the same camera but much better. There's are 2 things I really like that my FZ1000s don't have. Headphone jack and ND filters. Very happy with it.

Great video camera
If you are looking for a great photography camera, this is not it. You need a larger sensor. On the other hand, if you are looking for a low budget video camera that can do a lot, this camera will not let you down. Here is a list of some of its great features: 1. First of all, image quality is great, it's very sharp. 2. Low light performance is decent for this sensor size, it's great up to 3200 ISO. 3. Built-in ND filters. 4. Great Zoo... Show More

Great camera
I love this thing. Great color SOOC. Easy to use, lightweight but packs a great file size and resolution. It has become my go-to camera for events, especially paired with a Godox 200 flash.

still learning
I'm still learning how to fully use all the many aspects of this camera. But it's great and has potential far beyond what I know how to use - yet. However, I was able immediately to use the basics and get some lovely photos, without having to spend hours looking at instructions. Looking forward to an upcoming safari and getting superb photos!

Cool features. Suffers in low light.
First time using a bridge camera. I rented 2 for a concert and used my G7 as a safe cam. The G7 performed much better in lower light. I was not happy with the fz2500. The lens also seemed to not be sharp on the long end.

Great camera, accessory bag too small
Good camera so far, but B&H needs to include a Ruggard bag at least one size larger than currently included. Will update cam info once I've used it a few days or weeks. Arrived on time with overnight delivery.

Best Bridge camera for the money?
Ive only had this a couple of weeks however it has already impressed me with its quality, menu options, screen definition, and ease of handling. I downloaded the advanced manual to my kindle (a must) and working through it page by page ( page 70of 300). I cant comment on photo quality but the ability to manually influence everything suggests any poor results are more likely to be operator error than camera performance. Anyone considering this ... Panasonic Lied
The lens' focal length is indeed as stated, however the aperture does not add up when compared to others

Returned it
I bought the Sony RX 10 III instead. It was a tough choice because this camera is cheaper and has some very desirable features. The Sony is sealed and since I walk the beach in very sandy wet conditions, that is important. My Lumix FZ 80 now has no zoom, due to sand in the lens. It still takes good pictures though.

An experiment with a bright future
I am primarily a nature/landscape photographer. I bought this camera to take on trips, hoping it will replace my large, heavy, and complex DSLR and be lighter, more manageable, easier to take on airplanes, and will take great photographs easily. I'm getting old and just can't lug all that stuff all the time. I haven't traveled with it yet but I have taken driving photo trips and it has done well. I am trying to get used to the Panasonic menus and... Show More

Watch the Battery
This is an add-on to my June review. I have found my FZ2500 to be highly sensitive to battery charge. Images turn blue as the charge goes down, then the camera starts doing unpredictable things. I can only get a reliable 50 shots from a battery before it's best to swap it out: I carry two spares. Far worst, IMHO, the Panasonic charger goes dark when it deems the battery is charged, which, I've learned, is not always the case. I bought a Wasable c... Show More

Panasonic nailed it!
I cannot comment on still photography, since I use this camera for video purpose only. It is perfect video camera for run-n-gun shooter. I use this camera with zhiyun crane and it works just fine. In short, this is GH4 with built in glass and ND filters. Very useful smartphone app controls zoom, auto and MANUAL! focus, shutter speed and much more.

Good Bridge
Bought this camera for an upcoming trip to Africa. Last took a full Nikon package and lenses which was just too heavy to move around with. Have shot about 300 pictures through it already and I am very happy with the results. I normally shoot a D750. The camera has a slight rattle when you shake her a bit, and the writing to the single CD card is a little slow unless you get the Lexmark 1000 card. Overall good zoom, quick focus although have to reset the center cross too often. Value is there for the price.

Impressive, But Not for the Technically Faint-of-Heart
I am a still photographer, not a videographer, and I shoot a lot of medium-format film. I bought the FZ2500 mainly for travel photography: my wife and I write travel books. The ability to zoom out to 480 in a fixed-lens camera is huge. After two weeks shooting everything I could find, I'm impressed. Image quality is excellent; autofocus is fast and crisp; all the plusses that reviews make are there. My only complaint--and it's large--is the compl... Show More

Disappointment
I own a number of Lummix cameras and have always liked them. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this one. Very noisy pictures at long distances and close up. A relatively useless manual for a complex camera. I'm not a nitpicker or particularly hard to please but this camera fails on many levels and I'm not sure why given the lack of information in the manual. Maybe a different setup would cure my issues but I'll never know. Size and weight OK for travel which was why I bought it but I'm wondering if I'll bother to pack it.
