Most Expensive, Least Reliable of Nine Bose Products
With nine Bose purchases under my belt over the past ten years, I have had great performance and reliability with all of themexcept the most expensive onethe QC25. Though I have other Bose and other brands of headphones I use, I bought the QC25s around Christmas 2014 to use specifically in our Las Vegas casinos. My wife and I go the buffets once a week. Afterwards, she plays the slot machines and I try to find a quiet spot in the casino and liste... Show More

Was expecting more . . .
I bought this product because I'm flying overseas a lot. The noise on airplanes is very loud and causes a lot of fatigue by the end of the flight. I wanted these headphones so I could be more refreshed at the end of my journey. The headphones are built solidly for the most part. The battery door is a little cheap (plastic, a little hard to open, and fit/finish is not very good). Otherwise, the headphones feel very good in quality. The cable is jus... Show More

Excellent if your purpose is for travel!
The seal on the audio without 'the noise cancelling powered on' is good enough for basic listening, the sound when the NC is off is liveable, so I have it off at home when it isn't noisy and for basic audio listening to save on the battery. When the NC is switched on,the humming frequencies are tuned out but sharp erratic voices will still come in. The difference with NC on is immediately felt, the sound space immediately closes in, and is quiet.... Show More

Glad I bought this
I use these for blocking out ambient noise while reading/studying and working at home, and sleeping during the day when I'm working a week of night shifts. While it does not fully cancel out nearby voices and conversations, it does significantly decrease and muffle the intensity of the vocal and other ambient noise levels, and reduces the volume required from one's audio source (if listening to music or white noise). I also use these for sleeping... Show More

Excellent phones, beware of tonal quality variance.
I have used several headphones over the years. I have the Bose QuietComfort 15 headphones which sound very good using a good source, especially when monitoring digital live recordings using studio quality microphones. The first set of QuietComfort 25 headphones I purchased were black on black and sounded dull and lifeless so I was very disappointed after reading previous reviews on the 25s. So I sent these back. Excellent update to the QC15s
Beacause of the combination of compact size both packed and deployed on your head, AAA battery life (and a convenient slot for a spare in the case), superb sound suppression, and fit - these are a winner. I gave away my older bulkier QC25s and have been using the 20i in-ear product for short and and long-haul flights. In ear buds are excellent if you are in a business class seat for sleeping. But - the QC25s are close behind in comfort because of... Show More

Amazing headphones, worth the investment
Let me start with the only negative thing (The Price), to subsequently bombard you with how amazing these headphones are. I'm a student, so the price was shocking to me and it took me a week of thorough research to convince me this should be the best thing out there, and that there is nothing of the same quality for a lower price. My wallet hurt, but these headphones are definitely worth the investment. They are high quality, not only because of ... Show More

Good, mostly
The good: They're very comfortable. The fit is great. Soft ear pads make a good seal without noticeable pressure. The noise reduction is excellent. Slide the switch to on and you're immediately dropped into a zone of quiet and privacy. They really have this aspect down perfectly. The sound, to me, is a bit bassy, a bit muddled in the middle, and soft at the top, but not overly so. The overall sound balance is very good, friendly for extended list... Show More

Great headphones
These are expensive, but they work. Initially and even now (about 2-3 weeks of use) sometimes you have the impression of ear pressure when you turn on the noise cancellation. I guess you get used to that. Seems good quality. It won't block the sound of a lawn mower completely or voices. Just reduces them. I use them at my office where I have loud noise from the sales people near by and it helps a lot. Cable is 5 feet long. Battery lasts a long ti... Show More

Great headphones
I got these about a week ago and I'm really impressed. I had been looking at them for a few years in stores, but never wanted to spend $300 on these. Now that they are being phased out and replaced by newer models, dropping $180 on these is totally worth it! They are lightweight, comfortable, sound great and the noise cancelling is surreal. I use them to tune out and relax for a few minutes when I get home after a long day of work. I can't wait f... Show More

Cocoon myself in comfortable quietness
... and concentrate on my work even when people all around are talking. This pair of headphones are very comfortable to wear. I have a big head so most headphones will either not reach both of my ears or clamp my head tight. This pair simply hugs my ears and seal them in. Once the active noise canceling is turned on, everything else goes away. The only downside I've noticed so far is when the active noise canceling is on, there sounds like a hi... Show More

Excellent
I'm not an audio geek. Sure, I know the difference between bass and treble, but high-end headphones has never been my thing. But I do a lot of flying, and I'm not a big fan of loud talkers or screaming kids. On long haul flights, the white noise can also be bothersome. These headphones simply blew me away. While they don't shut out EVERYTHING, they do put me in a cocoon. My wife jokes that I usually nod off within 5 minutes of putting them on. May... Show More

A good buy
I bought this product specifically due to its outstanding noise canceling feature. I have been using it for about 2 wks now, and so far it's working pretty good. I am using it at home, commuting on trains and at work. Pros: This is the best and most expensive headphone I have ever bought. It works very well to filter out background noises from air conditioner, fridge, etc. It also allows me to turn down the voice on my iPhone or computer. It serv... Show More

I fly a lot for work and often take red eyes. Its really important that i sleep on the plane so i can stay sharp for my meetings. However i have trouble sleeping do to engine noise. This can't be safe for your hearing.
I bought these and took them on the noisy A Train in NYC and was able to listen to an opera. It was remarkable how well they blocked out ambient noise! BUT... And this is why I returned them, the sensation of wearing these is extremely odd. I felt too much pressure on my ear drums, like I was under water. After only an hour and a half of use, my ears felt odd for three days. There is no way these things can be good for ones long term hearing. It ... Show More

Best on the market
I LOVE my BOSE Noise Cancelling Headphones as does my wife. We purchased two of these. I use mine on our long flights to Hawaii, Gaming on my computer rig as well as on my commercial mower when I mow my lawn. (So I use these LITERALLY every day!) I can't say enough about how much I love these! It cuts out the sounds you don't want outside and gives you the huge range of highs and lows you do want with clarity. These are the best headphones I've ever owned!
Let me start this review by saying, I would never spend $300 on a pair of headphones. I don't care how good the review was. But then, a friend of mine let me try on a pair - and holy cow, I was beyond impressed. There is nothing, not to love about these pair of headphones. The sound reproduction is amazing. The noise canceling is top-notch. I have used these for about 6 months, on multiple flights, and I can only say these are heaven-sent! Crying... Show More

Durability Issues ......
The sound quality was good and the noise cancellation was good.....but it is most surprising that a headphone with the Bose brand on it at a premium price just broke into pieces after 3 years of use. First crack and breakage at the extension point on the head. and then the whole ear cup just broke off where it can twist. The ear cups uses a very cheap foam leather which literally cracked and powdered. I think Sennheisers and Beats make a lot more... Show More

Premium Noise Cancellation with Sharp Looks
The Bose QC 25 headphones are really lightweight and compact. After a week and a half of use, mainly on airplanes, I am very satisfied with my purchase. The headphones are lightweight and comfortable to the extent that you don't feel any pressure on your ears. Yes the headphones are a pricey, but deliver 100% on sound quality and excellent noise cancellation. With the flick of a switch, the ambient noise from the plane engines and noisy co-passen... Noise cancelling just got better
I got these during Christmas 2015 for $(no tax and free one day shipping). I've had the Bose QC15 for almost 4yrs. Only recently has it shown its age and I wasn't sure if I wanted the QC25 as a replacement. Yes, the volume level/output on these aren't over the roof but that's not what im looking for. The QC's are all about quality and noise cancelling, which they provide in spades. Those wanting thumping bass look elsewhere. The noise cancelling ... Show More

Beats my old QC3's by a Mile
I've had the QC25's for a couple of weeks now and love them. I love the Noise Reduction (it's erie!), I love the sound, I love the fact that I can now use a AAA battery rather than a Custom Bose battery, and I also love the fact that I can still use the 25's even if the battery dies -- just without the NR. What's not to like? Not much. They're bigger than the QC3's and ever so slightly less comfortable. But, I've been wearing them a lot, and don'... Show More

Build quality holds a potentially very good product back.
While these headphones provide excellent isolation, and provide acceptable fidelity, the build quality is poor. The small phone jack, which plugs into the headphones, is particularly troublesome. Many times only one side of the headphones would operate, pushing on the jack can make sound come from both sides, but may also result in a mono sound as well. Once the jack is inserted just so, the headphones perform well, however, any inadvertent tugging on the line will cause the loss of sound to one of the headphone sides. I expected much more from these headphones. I would not buy them again.

poor quality
I purchased my headphones late last year. Recently, the right side of the headphones has intermittently lost it's ability to cancel noise has an accompanying clicking noise. I'm very disappointed in the quality of these headphones. Of course, this is just past the very short 1-year warranty period. Bose charges far too much money for its products to have this level of quality. I was planning to order headphones for my wife, but neither I nor my wife will ever buy your products again. They are overpriced and of poor quality. Additionally, your warranty period is inexcusable.
