We have used this microphone for several years to capture the sound of a backstage orchestra and chorus for musicals in our community theater. The sound quality is excellent and the mike gives us quality audio.

I researched many lower cost, large diaphragm condensers and heard Ken Callait recommend the SM27. I planned to purchase it myself, but my wife bought it for me as a Christmas gift, and I've already had the chance to use it on a variety of sources. It is clear and pristine sounding.
