good headset but the competition is fierce
Pros: - OLED screen, good blacks, no screen-door effect - good controllers, big and confortable, with both a joystick and a touchpad - cheap and light, and setup is super easy: just plug 2 cables (USB + HDMI), scan the room, you're done! hurray inside-out tracking! - Windows Mixed Reality portal is a lot of fun! and quite practical Cons: - hard foam cover is REALLY uncomfortable, my forehead was aching after only 30 minutes of play, so I had to ... One of the best VR headsets
Once in stock, the delivery was pretty quick, and came in perfect condition (to UK) packaged in a separate box with air bags. Now the VR headset itself is pretty easy to setup, simply connect HDMI and USB 3.0. Make sure youve downloaded Windows Mixed Reality software beforehand, as well as Steam VR, as these two can be closely intertwined, depending on which apps and games you plan on playing. The screen resolution is a massive step up from PS... Show More

Great optics, poor ergonomics
Let me start saying I love the view from this headset. Immersion is easier with better optics. My main disappointment with this headset is ergonomics. There is a large gap at the bottom, which makes it easier to see outside the headset and keeps it from fogging but puts a damper on the experience. The headset is sort of heavy and bulky. Besides being bulky the headset digs into the bridge of my nose and forehead making it so uncomfortable I consi... Show More

Proper VR on a budget.
I ordered this from Europe and got it hassle-free because B&H + DHL Express handled the VAT and shipping. This is my first real introduction to VR myself, and so far it is wonderful. If you have enough resources on your system to run supersampling at 150% and above, the displays absolutely POP! It is not all sunshine and roses though, the headset is admittedly not the most comfortable to wear. I have remedied this a bit myself by sewing a str... Show More

Amazing Headset if looking for best graphics for good price
Purchased while on sale for $400 and seems worth the premium over the other Mixed Reality Headsets since the graphics on this are great. Ive only demoed an Oculus before but this looked much better with the Screen Door Effect not being an issue. Tracking on the controllers is pretty good, though occasionally Ive had to turn them off and on if something was acting incorrectly. Superhot VR and Beat Saber look and play amazing with this, and watchin... Show More

Absolutely fantastic for $300
For my use, this is perfect, and for 300 dollars there really isn't anything in the market right now that can match the value. In my case I played it with glasses, and while it is plenty comfortable, it caused some scratches in one small part of the lens on the left eye of the VR lens AND my glasses, probably because my vision is worse than most people and caused the glasses to be thicker than most. As precaution, I suggest adding some thick padd... Show More

Awesome product!
I am from Germany and this is the best shop to geht this beautiful HMD. I had a Rift before and the difference is immense. The Odysseys resolution is so much better, the sweet spot is huge and you can read text that is even a bit far away. Thee best thing is that there is no noticeable SDE at all fantastic! The tracking is pretty good as well, you need a bit more light than for the Rift. But I got lamps here, so no problem for me. At first I ha... Show More

Great headset for the price
Setup was easy, just plug-in, follow the WMR steps to map out play area and then you're basically done! Very simple and easy. The quality of the screens is very good and the anti screen door effect technology they are using works amazingly. Only downsides would be comfort of he headset and controller tracking. The padding on the forehead of the headset isn't amazing and I've decided to purchase a replacement VR Cover for which I'm happy to do... Show More

Excellent fidelity, but...
The clarity and fidelity is first class, I could never go back. The sensors and tracking are excellent too, however, I have yet to push it to the extremes. Every app and game, so far, has been tracked very well. Also, way less nausea for some reason ( might be the clarity) and little to no fogging. Downsides? Uncomfortable head strap, probably one of the worst. After 20 minutes or so, youll need a long break. The built in head phones are just oka... Show More

Awesome headset!
Ive been very happy with this HMD, being the first VR headset I dared to buy because it solves the whole SDE issue. It has integrated bluetooth, better display resolution and brightness and it is awesomely priced. Im comparing this with the Rift and Vive and other WMR headsets. It works great with most SteamVR games and controller tracking is good enough (not as good as Vive/Rift, due to no external sensors). The only cons I have are: 1. its no... Show More

Decent VR headset
If you can pick it up on sale it's worth the money, otherwise grab a rift. Room tracking is great and is easy to setup. Hand tracking works pretty well except when you move hands outside of the view of front-facing cameras or when blocking one hand with the other. This can break some VR experiences but for the most part isn't an issue. Rift has more cameras for better hand tracking. Halo style headset puts pressure on the forehead so I recommend ... Show More

Defective and Samsungs support is a joke
I just set this thing up and I noticed the right touch pad was constantly registering touches. This makes games that use the touch pad hard to play or strange at best. I tried calling Samsungs support and after 20+ minutes of being on hold and being transferred from on department to another, they finally told me to call the same number I had dialed and that there would be a dedicated team that can help me... Apparently, their phone systems are wo... Show More

My best VR headset
I have used PSVR, Lenovo Explorer, Oculus Rift CV1 and this which by far is the better image to me. When I first received it I noticed the light bleed around the edges but it seems to have disappeared after a while as the headset molded itself to my face. Very little SDE is noticeable compared to others and the tracking and controllers work fine for Google Earth VR and Steam VR. The sweet spot of no blur seems adequate although the Oculus wins in... Worth the wait!
I ordered this and waited 6 weeks due to backorders, and this is no doubt due to popularity with this hot HMD. It was well worth the wait and I am not disappointed. I absolutely love the headset, it is so comfortable and easy to adjust. It does not get hot or fog. I did not experience the light bleeding that others have mentioned, this could vary due to head size, however my head is on the smaller side. The setup was so easy and it is great not having to deal with multiple cables or room sensors. This is a great quality VR/WMR headset. Highly recommend it for the price!

Product great; long wait
The title sums it up. The headset works very well, incredibly immersive experiences. The controllers are responsive, visuals great. Some porthole type effect in Skyrim but that might be my video card, dunno. The unfortunate part is that I waited a month and a half or so from order date to receive it, well after my wifes birthday (the intended recipient). If I could leave a meh response and a wow thats nice response at the same time, I would, but if I only get one choice; we have it now, it works and the experience is very impressive.

Seems pretty good to me
I dont have any basis for comparison as this is my first foray into VR but I have been enjoying the Odyssey+. My only issue is I cant focus perfectly. I have a weak distance prescription and dont have contacts. You can sort of fit small frame glasses under the headset and that helps. I have prescription inserts coming from two vendors in Germany so hopefully that will fix the focus issue. Everything else works great but how they compare to other products, I really cant say.

Something Good, something Worse
Honestly i must say i used a Oculus Rift CV1 so far. Plus for the Odyssey, i feel the FOV ist better, the Screendoor effect is not noticeable, Picture is bright and clear, best VR experience so far. You need no extra cameras for tracking. All Steam Games work! Negative, the weight! The Headphones are not good adjustable, the dont fit good to my ears. If you nose is not that small, it will bring pressure you wont like. For a good tracking the Room should be bright!

Excellent....and fast delivery to New Zealand
As mentioned it is and especially that I get a smooth c lean image... I dont see what other headsets apparently have ie the door screen effect at all... I also found the Windows site for adding Oculus compatibility etc..which runs fine as does the Steam VR software . Also got Sansar VR running as well which seems to need the Steam one running with the Windows VR ... So very pleased with this purchase and Fast delivery with DHL to here in New Zealand..Laurie

Samsung Odyssey disappointment
I had my doubts after watching several reviews but now after 2 weeks of use I can say that I was correct in having those doubts. The image althou void of SDE is not enjoyable and could I choose now, I think I would prefer the original Odyssey (I did not test the original odyssey). There is blurryness on the image and the rings of the lenses are to visible

Not excellent but not bad
Small area of focused view, which will shift fast with little movement. So I got a strap which improved the comfort and manages the movement better. Tracking is good, controllers are fine.Screendoor effect is virtual non-existent.Got it on sale, good value for money. I recommend a cable clip system of some sort to keep the cable away from head/arms.

Excellent optics, rest average
The display is a huge step up from the htc vice I have. Lots of wow moments again in familiar apps. The controller tracking is a step backwards, overall, but especially outside the corners of your view. Comfort is also a step back. Headphones are decent and build in is a big improvement. I think I sell the vive and keep this because of the display.

Ugh, Samsung support
This is my second Samsung HMD. The first had a controller defect and rather than fix the controller Samsung told me to return the item and buy a new one that was no longer on sale. Now I've waited out a sale and bought a new one, head tracking on this one is janky, and again, rather than an RMA Samsung just wants me to return it for a refund.

good purchase on sale
Its been my first contact with VR and the first minutes were incredible. I can not compare with the rest of headsets on the image quality, tracking, etc ... The comfort problems totally true, after 2 hours my head started to hurt, I hope it is solved with the VR cover. The bad thing, to know about the valve index after buying them...

Great VR experience!
This is my first VR headset so I can't compare it with others. Having said that, I am very impressed. The headset is comfortable once you get it adjusted and it seems to get better as you go. The controllers are easy to get used to with every thing at your fingertips. I will update this review after I have had time to use it a while.
